Remember it like yesterday.  Still got the scar on a shin  where I left half my leg on the seats as me and my best pal went rows down going mental as young twenty somethings.   Great memories along with both the boro finals. Unfortunately my mate passed before the title win etc so these games always bring back magic memories

Excluding the 15/16 season in its entirety, this is easily my favourite LCFC memory. An absolute joy.

Going to sound like a right old git but football was actually better in those days.

Players smoked 20 a day and we didn’t have to listen to clueless fvcking idiots ringing in to 5 Live to discuss tedious nonsense like financial fair play or sporting directors.

Claridge and Marshall, two of the scruffiest individuals to wear a City shirt but that lot last season weren't fit to lace their boots. Wish we had them now.

remember going out on an all day bender in Hinckley to watch this.  Final whistle went and we decided the best way to celbrate, pissed up, was to make our was over to Skegness for the night.

Ended up in some random nightclub, all with our Leicester tops on, being sang at by the entire ngihtclub when we sung we are going up.

Then slept in the car in a seafront car park, and drove back the next morning.

Those were the days

I ended up two rows back cuddling a lady with a yellow jacket…. The mayhem when super Steve shinned it was insane

what a day!

Watching that on DVDs as a kid I was convinced the commentary was added in after because it sounds so strange.

Think watching it back now he just didn't expect it to go in.

That commentary became answering-voice on my landline for the next 12 months 😎

Nothing much to add, other than good to see some love for Lennon in the thread.Even if I were a foaming at the mouth unionist I still couldn't hate him just because he was so good for us. Was a brilliant day, and is as fond a memory as our trophy wins of recent years. Maybe even more so, just because of how different the club, football and football fandom was then.

Only been two occasions when I struggled to watch our penalties. One was Ulloa vs West Ham, the other was Parker at Wembley. Two pivotal moments.

Everyone I've ever spoken to has talked a about that semi beat before the roar but slightly after it hits the net.

Privileged to be there for that. I was so young. It was so fun.

I met Alan Parry at a sportsman's dinner. He commentated on that day and said ' I remember it clearly because of the goalkeeper subbing bringing on Kasey Keller and Claridges goal straight after' I had to put him right on that one, memory not quite being what it should be.

No photo description available.

Looks like David Lowe with the glasses.

Got loads of photos from this match somewhere. Need to dig them out.

I knew exactly what this thread was from the title. I was there but have watched (and still have!) that VHS tape many times. A game and a season that sums up Leicester over the last30 years - sometimes nightmare, sometimes fairytale, never boring!

We had also built a bit of a template then for giving a chance to young and ambitious managers (Little, McGhee, O’Neill) and either lower league talent (Lennon, Elliott etc) or some deemed a little past their best (Parker, Marshall, Cottee), and just making it all work.

I think that held right through until 2016, but we’ve since flown a little too close to the sun. Once we recognised again the size of club we are and the blueprint that we adopted with great success for several decades, we’ll be back.
