Opposition managers know how to play his teams. Others aren't going to just let us play how we want, and are going to exploit every weakness. Unless the plus points of the style shine through, this is going to get even tougher.

Today was always gonna be tough. First game of the season, away at a newly promoted team. I remember Pearson’s first away game and how bad that was at Stockport.

The sooner he's gone the better. The fans will never take to him and every time our defenders get mugged after pissing about at the back (which has happened a lot of times already) is another nail in his coffin because we all know he's told them to do that.

Exactly this. I wonder if the Bristol City fans are being quite so kneejerk with Skubala, afterall, he is the messiah that alot of fans so desperately craved.

1 game, ok 2 games if we count the cup match is not enough to make up my mind yet. If and it's a big if he learns from the mistakes and realises certain players should be binned then maybe we can have a good season. However the fact he said our strikers for the season are Cullen, Reid and the unknown Bristric, and the fact he seems to love Souttar so much are worrying. 

 

Bin Skipp, Reid, Thomas and sell Souttar. Won't happen though and the fanbase doesn't like him so a few bad results early and he will be gone.

To say I wasn't keen on us appointing him is an understatement, but he's here. We've not got the money to chop and change managers now, so he's here for the foreseeable. Last thing we need is open negativity from day 1.

He has to play Souttar because there is literrally noone else to play. Remember, this forum had Souttar as 'Premier League' standard before preseason.

It is, but much like the cooper appointment it shows how out of touch Rudkin/Top are. You need someone the entire fanbase can rally behind, and appointing a polarising manager is just unbelievably dumb.

 

He shouldn't be getting booed, but anyone with any idea around the fanbase or modern football in general should of had a feeling this was going to happen.

It feels like some people would rather be proven right about a manager failing than actually see the team succeed. Expecting a revamped, young squad to play seamless football from day one is completely unrealistic. Senior football is a massive step up, and tactical cohesion doesn't just happen overnight when we have a few in the lineup, making their first proper appearances.

There’s a massive difference between fair tactical criticism and just dumping non-stop toxicity on young lads who are literally just starting their careers. Backing the team doesn't mean you're blind to the flaws, it just means you're giving a young group the actual runway they need to grow. Up the fans who are actually trying to support.

You can't just appoint a manager to appease a section of brain-dead fans either though can you? There wouldn't have been a viable managerial option that absolutely every fan would have been on board with either. He's done very little wrong so far if we're being totally honest, we just have some fans who want him to fail and have already made up their mind.

I'm glad. I hope we continue to try to play in that manner and replace the centre backs and pivot in the team with players of that skill set so that we're able to carry out his instructions and coaching properly.
