It's more about the fact that if Leeds win then our case against Man City and Chelsea is strengthened massively.

that case is going to entirely rely on whether a verdict is actually given for 115 FC or not, and honestly with a year and a half since the hearing concluded I'm convinced the PL are looking to sweep it under the rug. If no verdict ever comes on that, we'd struggle to make a case regardless of what happens in this - because Leeds can rely on the facts that we did breach and were charged, just as Burnley did v Everton. If Man City aren't charged for breaching, we're left in much murkier waters

Why would we settle?

Let it run through the courts and if we lose we should go in two footed at about knee height on Chelsea and Man City.

It will cost us a lot more to go through the courts, money we don't have.

Not money that will affect the club through PSR.

Hey look, I’m normally pretty negative with my outlook on stuff like this. And obviously I don’t have a load of knowledge beyond what is really on this forum so I may well be absolutely wrong on this.

It just seems that there are no grounds to make a solid case that we ‘stopped’ them going up. Again, no more so than we could say Forest and Everton’s breaches that they were punished for the season after we went down were the reason we went down in the first place. I guess the difference is we had our own issues that season whereas Leeds can argue they kept their own finances in line.

The authorities should be very concerned here. As others have said, the precedent this could cause.

Leeds have to convince the tribunal that if we'd stayed within PSR, we'd have finished seven points or more below them and they would have gone up. By contrast, Burnley only had to persuade the tribunal that Everton would have gained at least four fewer points without their breach. So Leeds's case, while not impossible to argue, is materially more difficult than Burnley's was.

I think this increases the chance of a settlement. Leeds will know there is a strong chance the tribunal will reject their claim and they'll get nothing, but Leicester will know that if it does go to tribunal and we lose, the consequences could be huge. There's a lot of risk on both sides, so they'll probably reach an agreement before that stage.

If Leicester ever did anything like this, I'd be absolutely repulsed but the Leeds fans are loving it because we sang a song (ignoring their unbearable arrogance and entitlement, that season that led to the piss taking).

They are absolutely vile. They're allowed to give everyone else shit but we're not allowed to give it back.

Stupid idiots want to put us out of business. Meaning the next generation of kids here pick Liverpool, Man Utd etc because they don't have their own club. Hence giving those clubs more funds to pick off all Leeds' best players.

Really don’t understand why Leeds want to go thru this hassle. Are they not doing just fine now? Seeing us struggle and go down to div 1 should be more than gratifying. What’s the point of this legal action. Do they really want to turn us into mortal enemies. I say to them  be careful what you wish for. Payback is a bitch

This is complicated.

Whilst Burnley / Everton sets a precedent, we have already been sanctioned by PSR. Leeds agreed an outside of ruling agreement in 2025, maybe what they’re after here.

Everton breached and Burnley got relegated. Leeds still had the chance to get promoted via the Play Offs and failed. More difficult to prove we stopped them getting promoted.

Everton are still appealing as well, so this might all go away anyway.

It's hard to see how they benefit from it.
