I think it’s simply nobody slightly suitable came in before. This looks like a desperate move. We could be in real trouble

Yes, that is what I thought.

If bids had been received already, then they’d all be operating under NDAs and this should be wrapped up in 6 months.

I do get the feeling no one wants us, due to the fact we are sinking quicker than the Titanic.

Agreed. We will end up in administration before we’re sold.

Surely not a chance this takeover gets done by December, at least 4 months will be taken by the EFL and the Football regulator, I’m expecting it to be April/May at the earliest

Unless the EFL bit is already done. Like when trying to buy Dery

Joking aside, I’d buy us for £1m.

We can’t get any worse and I’d be confident I’d at least stop the bloody rot!

That trumps my offer of a bag of Roast Beef Monster Munch and a KitKat.

I wish you well

I’ll have the £1m if you’re still interested in spending it

Hi Southampton FC, that’s a nice effort but you’ve had quite enough. Now **** off. Thanks

Club needs a reality check on the valuation...

In the article from Sky News:

However, a sale at anything like that valuation would represent a record for a club at that level of the game.

News of the auction timetable comes during a crucial week for English football, with the sport's new regulator due to publish its inaugural State of the Game report on Tuesday.

Sky News revealed last week that the document will conclude that 94% of professional clubs are lossmaking, with 97% operating with operating costs exceeding their turnover.

We’re losing £1m a week and have been for a while. I wish it were possible to stop the rot for that little

Serious question but what moron would want to buy this shower of shite

Depends what you can get it for.

Joking aside, people do buy companies on the cheap to asset strip them and sell their individual assets.

It sort of depends if the new owners would be looking to make money, or quick cash.

The valuation King Power have put on us is crazy. At this point we are worth more as real estate, than as a football club.

A deal is most likely almost done and that's the real reason Rudkin and McCarron out of nowhere came out for an interview as its an attempt to hold onto their positions

The only way to deal with our club’s position at the moment is to delude one’s self

Look at Everton’s valuation and compare to us; it is ludicrous anyone would pay what top is asking for a club in as dreadful position as we are.

Any serious attempt to sell would have involved cutting costs; rather than hamstringing the club with stupidly long contracts and Russell Martin (most of which will be viewed as debt like items by any bidder)

Think Everton is inclusive of 500m debt to be fair

I’m not sure the real estate is particularly marketable.

Who will buy the stadium? A phoenix club who will have little funds or a developer who could just buy the car park across the road and save on the demolition.

Who buys Seagrave? Forest who would be in the strongest bargaining position ever or a developer that will have a sysiphien task in getting planning permission. There’s the possibility it could be turned into some sort of country retreat but not at anywhere near the money KP are talking about.

If we are still losing £1m a week and on the verge of administration, then someone needs to give their head a wobble.

It would make no sense signing the likes of Cullen, Burns, O’Hare etc, if they’re on big wages.

I’d imagine we are still losing money, however it can’t be to that amount (surely). If it is we need to take some drastic measures as cash preservation should always be first in any business mind when it tanks and we they are in the position we re in.

Realistically we need to maybe trim back the non playing side, as whatever all of these analysts, scouts etc do, as I’d say we are currently seeing no benefit from them. I’d even suggest shutting down Seagrave and mothballing the place. Better to only lose £30k a month running the joint, rather than the £150k we currently are etc

They need to reduce all non essential like external

accommodation, expenses, social media and stop using all external companies to sponge money etc. You can always find ways to save money in a big business we all do stupid stuff, that in hindsight is somewhat excessive. We can’t continue to run with a Premier League outset, with a League 1 income.

On top of that, we should be exploring selling the stadium, either training ground, canning the women’s team etc, as it is more about short term survival, rather than long term growth.

I think 380m inclusive of debt. But why if you had that money would you spend it to own Leicester for 200m debt free. No one is making money from owning football club, a lot of buyers just want prestige.

Investors, Pension companies, Private equity etc, will all purchase assets, with the assumption of buyback / lease and generate income over time.

The issue with the stadium would be though, are Leicester going to be around to even play in it, or are you stuck looking to find other occupiers to utilise it. It could be used for other stuff, however that would mean some redesign work.

The training ground is another thing altogether. It makes quite a nice estate, rehab unit, private hospital etc if you’ve got the money to throw at the place I guess! Still massive renovation cost though!

Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay ultimately. Some people in the know will have an inkling on how close we are to the brink, then feed information to potential bidders. If we enter administration, we’ll more likely end up selling them for a fraction of the price.

You could see someone like Belvioir Drive being purchased by the Council if it could get it on the cheap.

It’s an odd thing really.

If you look at what Todd Boehly did at Chelsea, purchasing something like 12.5%, promising the earth, spinning the PR wheel etc. Realistically, he’ll have made money from that 18 month spell.

I’ve still no idea why we’ve got this random Polo Player on our board of Directors!

At some point the principle financial personnel within King Power will instruct “the family” to just let the club go….. I.E, stop putting money into it all together and we just end up in the same situation as Sheffield Wednesday. Perhaps not this season, but fail to get promote, and we’re genuinely done for. But there’s no guarantee administration brings new ownership, we’re a completely different beast to Sheffield Wednesday as an example……. I financial mess that will be left behind will be far too much for anyone to take on.

Yep, exactly.

We could end up being the next Wimbledon in reality.

I am starting to think we will go completely bust. There are some mega rich consortiums out there, but none would risk spending well above the valuation of a failing club that’s already losing money as a startling rate…..

No one will touch us unless it’s a crazy vanity project.

Top has destroyed this football club.

It isn’t just for the mens team, it includes the womens team and Leuven as well
