With regards to this Everton are an outlier because Palace could’ve beat them 3/4-0 on another day, Mateta missed two genuine sitters.

Also have to take in to account the teams and who they’re playing against. We are not going to be able to win against Burton at home playing how Hull beat United, just wouldn’t work at all. Think we need to be dominant in possession the problem right now is most of our possession is in our own half because Martin plays really narrow and we have two cbs and a cdm who are shambolic to not good passers of the ball and so we just don’t break lines and constantly trap ourselves in. We really do need to find the mid point, you can be aggressive and direct without pumping the ball in behind and surrendering possession

Im at the point now where I feel Top and Rudkin are doing this shit on purpose to deliberately piss the fans off. Everyone can see that temu pep ball has had its day, its boring, uninspiring and doesnt work unless you have the finances to sign players with the required skill sets to execute it.

Martin hasn't and probably wont ever change the way he plays. Regardless of fan pressure, booing etc, he believes his ideas work, despite

A. It failed at Rangers and largely at Southampton

B. Not having the the players in the squad capable of playing this style.

Even with the issues we have in our squad, a pragmatic manager, that would utilise tactics to get the best out of the players we have, would be getting us promoted.

From what we've seen in the opening 3 games, i dont see how Martin will get us promoted. 70%+ possession but little chances created and giving away several chances to the opposition from giving the ball away.

Hope im wrong but just dont see Martin being a fit for our situation or these players.

Daft as it may seem but I have been thinking the same thing, nobody anywhere wanted Martin as the manager and yet we employed him despite it being glaringly obvious to everyone that it would be a mistake.
The fans have made it quite clear that they’ve had enough of this boring possession based football for a few seasons now and yet here we are in Division One trying to bore opponents to death (as well as the fans)
