Daggers Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 OMG, some woman has just said to BBC1 how she is angry with the inconvenience (sp?) and how she isn't allowed to take spare clothes. HMMM well how about not going on your fking trip at all? Do some people really not care for their own lives? If it meant i'd lose £100 on a plane ticket, i'd still be straight home if i was going heathrow today. One only needs to look at some of the posts on FT to understand how really stoopid some people are. Take mine for example...
Steven Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 So what would you do? Nothing? How old are you sonny? How easy do you think it is to infiltrate these groups? How easy do you think it is to catch them red handed? Sometimes you have to move to disrupt the chain so that activities are abandoned or delayed. These groups have no organsiational structure, they often operate from a single controlling source, whose hands never get dirty. There may be no charges or convictions possible, but be assured they will be involved somehere along the line, may be in a small way, but they are part of the chain. How easy is it to pontificate like some jelly arsed Liberal sitting in nice safe house somewhere. Too fecking easy sonny. Get some in before you make fecking juvenile remarks like that. And yes, I am a police officer. This response shows why English Police Forces have clear up rates where only Denmark and Portugal are worse. The Police response to all Crime, criminalise and abuse those that commit no crime.

The People's Hero Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 Would this be a good time to remind everyone that I can sort them out with some insura... nevermind.

The Police response to all Crime, criminalise and abuse those that commit no crime. How else do you tackle terrorism? Most terrorists will not have commited the crime until they've blown up whatever it is they are going to blow up. What do you want to wait for them to do it and then police go raid their houses? I know i'd rather a non existant plot be stopped than for a real one to be ignored.

Unfortunatley mistakes will be made, poor information and sources and unfortunate treatment of innocents will happen. But if one life is saved after all these mistakes it will have been worth it, people have to see the big picture.....I can understand those that feel that they are being targeted and alienated, from whch my kin and kind have suffered (eg Sikhs look like Muslims in many ways) but if it means saving life's of innocents, so be it!!!

Let's start by raiding your house and holding you for 28 days.
Lemon Harpic Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 But if one life is saved after all these mistakes it will have been worth it I don't think the family of Jean Charles de Menezes would see things like that.
Steven Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 I don't think the family of Jean Charles de Menezes would see things like that. To add fuel to the fire, more dangerous that terrorists? Source Independent Police Complaints Commission statistics recorded 106 deaths related to police "contact" from April 2004 to March 2005 - 44 in road accidents; 36 during or following police custody; 23 involving other police contact; and three shootings.
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 I don't think the family of Jean Charles de Menezes would see things like that. I'm sure they wouldn't seeing as they are biased as fock. they for instance wouldn't take the view that if you jump over a underground turnstyle without paying while London is on high alert following several attempts at bombing the city. Your not the brightest spark in the draw.
The People's Hero Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 I don't think the family of Jean Charles de Menezes would see things like that. Very true.

No?
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 Maybe, as a Brasilian used to the proliferation of guns in your home city, running away from men chasing you with them is EXACTLY what a smart chap would do? No? no not really not when its the police and the city is under high alert.
Dr The Singh Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 I don't think the family of Jean Charles de Menezes would see things like that. Agreed they won't and as said mistakes will be made, but that's no consolation to the guys family!!!
l444ry Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 To add fuel to the fire, more dangerous that terrorists? Source Scraping the barrell there Steven. How many people were killed in one day during the London Tube bombings?
Steven Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 Scraping the barrell there Steven. How many people were killed in one day during the London Tube bombings? About half the number killed in that year after 'Police contact'. Scraping the bottom of the barrel is raiding people's houses and shooting people for no real effect.
Janx Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 Let's start by raiding your house and holding you for 28 days. Now whos GLIB And PATRONISING..
Daggers Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 no not really not when its the police and the city is under high alert. ...and as a Brasilian you would know that because...?
Daggers Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 Now whos GLIB And PATRONISING.. I've got a nomination for the Patronising trophy if you want? I hope that puts me in the running for the Glib one
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 ...and as a Brasilian you would know that because...? So he's so stupid he can't translate Polica to Police then? You can say they shouldnt of shot him all you want he ran away and jumped a turnstyle with a rather big ruck sake, if he hadn't of been shot there you'd have to question security.

None of that is factually correct, only the Police said this to cover up their mistake. Sorry it saved lives didn't it.

Thracian Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 I'm old enough to remember when we didn't have any terror alerts. Or security cameras on every major road and public building. That Green and Pleasant Land song seemed appropriate then.
