Swedging Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 only an idiot would make public, information about his financial offer. how many times do you hear the board telling us how much they are paying players? how many times do you hear RK telling us how much money hes got to spend? That type of thing is private unless you are a plc, something LCFC ceased to be. Er, LCFC is a plc. And it's not about the finances itself - more what he is going to guarantee finacinally. So far he's just played a game of misleading everyone about the cash on the table (which was never that important). What counts is what happens in the future - what money is put in and on what terms.

So far he's just played a game of misleading everyone about the cash on the table (which was never that important). What counts is what happens in the future - what money is put in and on what terms. The initials PLC after a UK or Irish company name indicate that it is a public limited company, a type of limited company whose shares may be offered for sale to the public. he's going to guarantee that he will sell the club at a profit in the future. the only way to do that is to get to the premiership, are you arguing with that???
l444ry Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 No. Because MM has completely avoided any discussion of what was always going to be important to the shareholders - how to take the club forward. Plenty of media & fan friendly nonsense about the passion of our fans (like which team doesn't have passionate fans?), a bit of weaselly guff about the stadium (it's owned by the club - his commitment is to see it owned by the club) and a refusal to talk figures. Basically saying trust him - and anyone who does trust someone with that line deserves having their leg lifted. It's doubtful that whatever Mandaric promised would satisfy you Swedging. After your rather dubious and highly speculative analysis of his Portsmouth stewardship you now seem to be criticising him for not talking about things which you know he can't discuss publicly yet. It's good that some like you question his intentions but, with due respect, don't you feel more solid evidence is required if your arguments are to be taken seriously?

That's just a daft argument. He could sell the club at a profit in the Championship if he finds another mug like Gaydamak
gilesyboy Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 I think its easy to lose track of things. Let's be honest here, it's football, it's our club, no-one's going to die, the world's not going to stop turning because of anything that happens with LCFC. Some rich bloke has turned up and wants to invest in or club and bring back premiership football to our club, oh how terrible. Of course he wants to make a profit, it's business, of course the board are cautious about agreeing before they've crossed the t's and dotted the i's as it's been a hard few years and a period every Leicester fan will be happy to move on from. 3-4 years ago we would have been happy to have a club still to support let alone the potential which is now there so why don't we all get a little excited that we have stuff to dream about again, future big money transfers, cup runs, Old Trafford, success....Europe!! C'mon, it's football, a hobby, a past time, it stirs emotions, it lets us dream without any serious consequences. I for one am dead chuffed that we've finally been given a crack of the whip. Up the City!
Ricey Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 Just watched the interview. I think I'm in love already, he certainly knows how to please and excite the fans!

It's good that some like you question his intentions but, with due respect, don't you feel more solid evidence is required if your arguments are to be taken seriously? That's not really fair. If Mandaric announced all his offer was through paying in money via increasing equity, I would be surprised (and thus a little bit suspicious) but very much in favour. And that is something that he could do - he's not circumscribed but the board is. I based my earlier argument on a reasonably careful and close reading of Portsmouth's accounts (which I paid to obtain). In this speculative arena, that's as much hard evidence as there is out there. Given more, i'll work with more. Until then, I'll just try and disentangle promises - for which MM can be held accountable - from general touchy-feely empty wordings.
Daggers Posted 8 November 2006 Posted 8 November 2006 That type of thing is private unless you are a plc, something LCFC ceased to be. Companies House
sackmycook Posted 9 November 2006 Posted 9 November 2006 Companies House Date of Incorporation: 18/11/2002 Company Overview Entered Compulsory Liquidation with the Official Receiver (Leicester) on 19/03/2003. I dont know how its conflicting points. otherwise why dont ex-shareholders still have shares?
Ultra Posted 9 November 2006 Posted 9 November 2006 Having watched the TV interview in full I am slightly better disposed towards our would-be owner. Although the interviewer was hardly in the Jeremy Paxman category, Mandaric had some warm things to say about us and more importantly about Rob Kelly. It also appears that he has revised his bid. Those shareholders who want to bow out will be given full compensation. However the questions remain about what provision will be made for those who want to retain their stake in the club. He also spoke about wanting a "dialogue" with supporters. Let's hope he's true to his word.. Those on here and other boards who hope that Mandy's arrival will lead to the disappearance of the FOXES Trust are likely to be VERY disappointed. As one of the largest groups of its type in the league, there's no reason for it to fade from the scene. Its principles would remain as valid under a Mandaric regime as they are now!

What firmly up his 'arris keeping their freebies and doing naff all for the benefit of the fans?
Daggers Posted 9 November 2006 Posted 9 November 2006 Having watched the TV interview in full I am slightly better disposed towards our would-be owner. ...and what did you say a short while ago? ..most mature, intelligent fans will NEVER accept Mandaric in charge of our club. We're not prepared to settle for being sloppy seconds.

Jon the Hat Posted 9 November 2006 Posted 9 November 2006 I think I just fell off my fence and landed on Milans Bus.... ALL ABOARD!!!!!! It's not a Bus it's a bandwagon! JUMP!!
davieG Posted 9 November 2006 Author Posted 9 November 2006 From the Guardian Mandaric closer to Foxes deal Milan Mandaric, the former Portsmouth chairman, appears to be moving closer to gaining control at Leicester City after an influential shareholder indicated takeover talks are heading "towards a conclusion". The Serbian-American met the Leicester chairman, Andrew Taylor, and club director Tony Lander in London on Tuesday to discuss the offer he tabled last week and, although it is understood that his initial bid was deemed unsatisfactory by several shareholders, there has been progress with negotiations since. (Article continues below advert) Mandaric described the talks as "very positive" and "a step in the right direction", indicating he hopes to hear from the club within the next couple of days. "My feeling is that there is a genuine desire from the club to reach agreement," he said. Leicester have played down the idea that a decision is imminent, indicating that it is vital "the short, medium and long-term best interests of the football club are safeguarded at all times". "There's not really an impasse," said one shareholder close to the deal. "I think what the club wanted to hear from Milan is that his intentions vis-a-vis the club are entirely honourable. I think most people are convinced; they just need him to spell it out a bit more."
Darren27 Posted 9 November 2006 Posted 9 November 2006 Me neither... about 100 people beat me to the bus, so for now I'm on the roof. Must say it's quite nice up here... got me a deck chair, quite comfy. Just wish the driver would slow down, there's some nervousness up 'ere when he heads for a corner. I'd be more worried by low bridges Room for one more up top?

Surreal Madrid Posted 9 November 2006 Posted 9 November 2006 Yes defo, i think the current people at the club are Tigers fans, Quite the most ridiculous thing I have ever read in this entire thread, and that's saying something.
