Surreal Madrid Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 Well that's ridiculous. Why? They put the most money in, they should have the biggest shout.
Ric Flair Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 Why? They put the most money in, they should have the biggest shout. So basically it should be decided between the top 4 shareholders then. I suppose what Milan could do is contact the shareholders individually and start buying them out and build up a stake, or have our club but rules in against people doing that? If so, then we're probably stuck with the current lot then. I bet they want investment and not a takeover, that will be the problem here. I can sense it.
Babylon Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 24 he needs then. Showbiz we'd like....... Nope.... like I said. It's one vote per share. If you have one share in microsoft it doesn't give you an equal say in how the company is run to Bill Gates.
Ultra Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 The Mercury spin machine is into overdrive today. And, surprise surprise, Mandy HAS pledged to back RK! I've got no plans to ditch Kelly Milan Mandaric today insisted he has no plans to replace manager Robert Kelly as Leicester City manager if his £25million bid is accepted. Changes are expected when a new owner comes in but Mandaric, who went through seven managers at Portsmouth, accepts City are doing fine under Kelly. "I don't have any other way of doing things than to stick with people who are successful,'' said the Serbian-American business tycoon who tabled his bid on Tuesday night. "I do anything I can to get everything out of them and give them my support and, from what my knowledge is, he (Kelly) is doing a good job. Whatever he has got, he is getting the best out of it and no matter what might happen with me, I respect that and think he deserves the credit for that." The first expectation of a cash injection is money for players and, again, Mandaric has a good track record on that front, although the actual terms of his takeover bid are confidential. He said: "Everyone knows my aim from my statement of what I am trying to do. I have been in many challenging situations, whether it has been with a corporation or with a football club. What it needs is experience, enthusiasm and financial support. "You are forced to look at bringing in new players, like I did at Portsmouth. There is no secret about that. I would not go to Leicester if I could not make a difference." The 68-year-old was linked with several clubs as soon as his intention to leave Fratton Park was confirmed, so why City? The passion of the crowd he had seen over the years held the key as he said: "One of the reasons I stayed at Portsmouth was the rapport with the supporters, and I knew Leicester supporters were very similar, hard-working-class, very passionate people, they love their club, love their football and have a desire to be back where they belong. That was very important to me. "Supporters are the most important segment of a football club. "And firstly, what I would do is get my friend Alan Birchenall to arrange a meeting with as many representatives and supporters as possible. "I will stand in front of them, tell them who I am and why I am there, what I am going to do, and try to establish a healthy and honest straightforward relationship which will take us through, because I am not going to be able to deliver on my own." Janx Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 Just as a quick question... do they teach Business Studies or Economics to GCSE students these days, I only ask as I took Economics A Level in days of yore and I have found it very useful, yet eve n though the levels of intelligence is generally HIGH on these boards, some fundamental issues are misunderstood...bot trying to point fingers, I just think its another issue about the quality of our education system. <_<
Surreal Madrid Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 How do you know this? This cannot be judged on averages. On record at Companies House for all to see! I was only mentioning the average to point out it was slightly more than the £2,000 you surmised!
Babylon Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 I suppose what Milan could do is contact the shareholders individually and start buying them out and build up a stake. Exactly... it's perfectly legal to do so. It would just take a long time and he might not ever get to to the percentage he needs and thus would have wasted his money.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 I'm going to Hillborough to shout on my team - not act as an unpaid cheerleader to someone who may or may not have the best interests of my club at heart. If and when I know the true nature of his bid I will make my mind up - certainly not now or on Saturday. Well that's all sensible and well and good, but this good run might not continue. If we reject a takeover bid and are in the bottom six at Christmas, the atmosphere will turn very ugly indeed. I can't help thinking that Kelly has given the board a temporary reprieve with this unbeaten run in terms of the fans' reaction to the board. However, the crowds are still poor despite free tickets by the bucketload and money-off vouchers. The slight increase in attendance is just a mirage due to the gimmicks partly designed to draw attention away from the financial problems we have.
Janx Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 Keep on topic please thicko. yeah cheers Cletus! duhuh!
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 If I'm sure of one thing, it's that the idoits that have run this club for the past 4 years do have the best interest of this club at heart. They may not have the capital or the brains to take it forward but they are Leicester fans, I doubt they would stab the clue in the back by either accepting a offer which isn't right for the club or turning down one that is. They know more about this offer and the other parties involved than we do. For once things look like they could be on the up, and I don't think starting a uproar based on a Guardian article is at all healty. Mandarics annoying me at the moment, he can see the fans are desperate and he's playing on it. I have a sneaking suspicion he my be attempting to pull the wool over our eyes and get us to back a deal which may not be good for us, and in short, using us to back the board into a corner. It's all well and good promising us the return of the good old days, but he promoised the fans of OCG Nice the European cup. Needless to say that didn't happen. I remember thinking how much I hate the bloke when the story first broke, I don't know why but as the weeks wore on my desperation must of got the better of me and I started to pin all my hopes on a mandaric take over. I'm starting to remember why I disliked him so much.
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 "My Friend Alan Birchenall" lmao fook off Mandy you can't stand the sight of each other!

ithuriel Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 Screw what up? None of us know the details of the bid, for all you know they could be saving us from extra debt. ever since ive supported this club its been one amatuerish board fook up after another. no major investment , going from crisis to crisis every few years if not annually and now we have a bid put in for city i can see the board fudging the issue not for the clubs benefit but theirs. this may not be the same board has in the past but they have certainly inherited the shambolic tag that went with the previous shambles. the only thing that has made city great down the years have been the manager and his playing staff and the supporters. even when the best of them , O'niell was here we had board room bust ups , sqabbles with the marketing dept., dodgy dealings with the proposed new ,( not the present new stadium,) stadium etc., i was hoping when they saved the club they would be different from the previous mess.i am certainly not this boards biggest fan and am quite suspect of them and am wondering how come previously there were never any major investors to be found for this club and now suddenly its reported there are three more that just popped out of the woodwork when a major bid is lodged. personally i think and its my opinion that the board will try to kill this deal whether it be good for LCFC or not because its what ive come to expect , i hope im wrong but i doubt it.
Master Fox Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 "My Friend Alan Birchenall" lmao fook off Mandy you can't stand the sight of each other! Yeah that comment did seem a bit strange! Why can't they stand the sight of each other? What's the history?
Surreal Madrid Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 Well that's all sensible and well and good, but this good run might not continue. Agreed, but it might get better!
Ric Flair Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 The board want investment, not a takeover. That's the problem here, I no I keep repeating myself but the more I type it the more it makes sense. They may be Leicester fans, etc but they want to keep their fingers in the pie. It's a cushy numbers for them all at the minute, we've just got to hope that the Linekers, Heskeys and other shareholders fancy cashing in and getting all or some of their money back.
Joe. Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 Let's hope Rob can bring in the right players with the cash he MAY get IF Milan does come...
Ric Flair Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 Yeah that comment did seem a bit strange! Why can't they stand the sight of each other? What's the history? Well rumours went round when Mandaric first got linked with us months ago that he and Birch didn't get on well when both were out in America in the 70's/80's. I'm sure Birch seemed set against Mandaric coming here but then since the rumours of Milan coming here got stronger and stronger Birch suddenly seemed well up for it. Perhaps he fears Milan will bounce him out of here?
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 Yeah that comment did seem a bit strange! Why can't they stand the sight of other? What's the history? Birch played for one of Mandys teams in the U.S (San Jose Earthquakes I think) and they didn't get on. Birch was blabbing on the moan in when the story first came to light about it, once Mandy banned him for 3 games because a fan threw a beer can at Birch while he was on the pitch, Birch procceded to pick it up and pretend to drink from it and stumbled away pretending to be drunk (twat). Milan went nuts and told him he was running a football team and not a circus and banned him. I think Birch even admitted they "didn't see eye to eye"
Ric Flair Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 Anyone think this might affect the players like it has done at West Ham? Or is it just an excuse?

I used to like him, but his remit should NEVER include Radio....
ithuriel Posted 2 November 2006 Posted 2 November 2006 The board can't reject the bid anyway can they? They can recommend to the shareholders that it be rejected, but it's down to the shareholders to vote. There are 41 I think? So that means Milan needs 21 of those to vote in his favour, I wonder how close the vote will be? It would be heartbreaking if only 20 voted for him and 21 of the ****ers didn't fancy the gig. I will be gutted if we don't get taken over, i'm running on emotions and not logic. I had pinned my hopes on Milan, but I just know that our current board would rather get investment than an actual takeover you can almost tell in what they've insinuated. thats the feeling i get , they want the cash investment while staying in charge. i can get very emotional about city and quite angry and it can cloud my judgement at times but i really do not trust this boards judgement. i may be paranoid but its supporting this club for so long that has done this to me the only saving grace is im not ultra.
