If certain board members were unhappy with him yesterday, they will be fuming once they pick up today's Mockery!

Exactly what I thought...

The reactionaries on here will be going wild when they read it.

On the flip side, MM is a businessman experienced in football. Experienced businessmen don't typically go out of their way to bollocks things up or make unrealistic offers.

While we don't know the ins and outs of the bid, it's safe to say that given the positive responses we have had so far from the high-profile and passionate shareholders (these outweigh the negative ones), that the club will be in safe hands.

Fezzler, I guarantee that a week on saturday if the deal has broken down or on the verge of breaking down then the fans will go wild.

Part of me hopes you're right. Part of me realises I don't know enough about the offer to make assumptions. All of me needs to see a concerted reaction from a large section of the fans, not just threats on a messageboard about kicking up a fuss. Like I say, I hope we do get some sort of reaction. Hillsborough on Saturday is a chance for the fans to back Mandaric to the hilt - if this messageboard is indeed an accurate reflection of fan opinion on the whole.

Incidentally, I can't help thinking of the Villa takeover bid, where Lerner = Mandaric in the sense that there were other parties interested but if it was going to be anyone, it was going to be Lerner.

....or whether there are other bids which may actually protect the long-term interests of the club more than Mandy's does.

What a surprise.. when it was all going well you were nowhere to be soon.

Soon as there is a potential setback, not only your head but your entire self righteous, bullsh it filled body is over the parapet dancing a merry dance on the LCFC grave!

But Babylon, your statement only has any value if your assumption that the board (as a collective) will act in the best interests of the club itself (present and future) and not in the best interests of themselves, their egos and their wallets.

I'm not saying we should take whatever offer regardless, but please do not assume that our current board are the altruistic saviours of the club that they might like you to believe.

ps the above is not meant to be offensive or inflammatory - i'm not saying you necessarily do believe this.. but it is the other side of the coin to your argument mon ami.

Trust me... if you have read anything about my thoughts on the board I don't think they are "altruistic saviours" in fact not anywhere near.

BUT... at this moment in time, they are the only ones with the full facts. Until someone comes out and says these are the facts about each deal, I don't see what choice we have but to put our faith in them make the right decision for the club.

To go mad and protest or scream about the breakdown of a deal we know sod all about serves no purpose.

you seem to be a very sad, embittered individual... does the word schadenfreude mean anything to you?

The Stoke game was the chance for fans to show their backing for Mandy. But very few did. A couple of drunken youths at the back of F1 tried to start one or two pro-Mandaric songs, but couldn't find any takers.

L1 might have been different, but we wouldn't know because once again there were too few of them to be heard in the Kop.

Whatever folk on here and in the Mercury may claim, talk of him being universally welcomed as the "saviour" of our club is as wide of the mark as a Josh Low 30-yarder!

The smallest investment was £25,000 - don't know what your credit card is like, but mine couldn't handle that! As at October 2005 the average investment per shareholder was £127,697 - again out of the reach of my credit card!

How do you know this?

This cannot be judged on averages.

Absolutely mate.

Just wanted to keep a bit of perspective on it, as I can see you do too.

There are a number of parties involved and there will be mind games, egos whatever involved on behalf of anyone trying to buy the club and those shareholders who will be 'selling' (if they wish).

Complicated. Imagine we will never truly know what goes on in what could be a bit of a power struggle, in fact, I suspect the accepted account will be based on the propaganda of the victor.

Where is BartonFox when you need him?

Even if the deal was for tuppence? No one knows what the bid is, this is the start of a long process methinks - MM was hardly going to make his first offer his final offer. If the bid is not good enough to guarantee the long term stability of the club, the board are quite right to question it. This is not helped by MM ( who started it ) and now a shareholder shouting the odds through their favoured press outlets.

I thought the deal was £25 million?

Spot on.

Complicated is the word. If i'm honest I don't know what to think, who to believe or anything. It's going to take its natual course and we are going to have to deal with whatever happens when it gets here i'm afraid.

I'm going to Hillborough to shout on my team - not act as an unpaid cheerleader to someone who may or may not have the best interests of my club at heart. If and when I know the true nature of his bid I will make my mind up - certainly not now or on Saturday.

The board can't reject the bid anyway can they? They can recommend to the shareholders that it be rejected, but it's down to the shareholders to vote. There are 41 I think? So that means Milan needs 21 of those to vote in his favour, I wonder how close the vote will be? It would be heartbreaking if only 20 voted for him and 21 of the ****ers didn't fancy the gig.

I will be gutted if we don't get taken over, i'm running on emotions and not logic. I had pinned my hopes on Milan, but I just know that our current board would rather get investment than an actual takeover you can almost tell in what they've insinuated.

The People's Hero has hit the nail on the head.

Milan will have a figure in mind on what he is willing to spend on the club, out of that figure he would have to pay the current shareholders to gain control, pay off the stadium should he want to and pay out his budget for transfers new wage bill etc.

Obviously if more goes on the current shareholders then their is less available for the club.

This shareholder who is rejecting the bid sounds like he is only thinking about getting his stake back or perhaps keeping control of the club, if the current shareholders were actual fans they would get rid of their shares for pennies.

I cant see milan making a 2nd higher bid if thats what the board are hoping, if this gets formally rejected hes gone.

As for garuantees they dont exist in football, it only proves the current board are not football minded, what do the current board garuantee us? survival? I dont know they certianly havent said so.

Thie midlands bid is very suspect and possibly the board playing games, if its investment rather then a takeover that is probably the real reason milan isnt the flavour for them as investment allows them to keep control but is much worse for the club.

Milan isnt just money hes got football experience and will push for wins rather then just avoiding relegation.

Thats true however it would be the board who get the blame should this fall through.

I would imagine you get one vote per share, so if say four big shareholders turn it down then it's game over.

There are 48 shareholders - the vote is decided on the number of shares voted for or against a motion, not on the number of shareholders for or against.
