Baby savaged by Rottwielers

Maybe the lndlord/lady should have left instructions or advice about the dogs. They may have done though. If the parents were told the dogs were OK with children they would have no reason to doubt it since it takes some amount of responsibility and intellegence to run a pub. I assume the parents asked about the dogs before the others left. Were the dogs actually in the same room or somehow got into the room where the baby was? I would imagine the parents would make regular checks or at least have a baby monitor on the bar.

Breaking news on Sky News:

The grandmother of the baby that died (the owner of the dog), has been attacked and killed this weekend.

Holy shit!

:o

What the fuch is wrong with people!:blink:

Think I may have been slightly wrong in my 1st post about this. It now looks like the other set of grandparents that were attacked, not the dog owners.

This is why people should keep out of others business, and not judge unless they know ALL the facts. Fuc*ing stupid.

If the incidents are connected that's what happens when the masses from certain areas get hold of stories they read in the rags.

There was a case just a few years ago where a paediatrician new to the area was attacked and killed (?) because the mob thought he was a paedophile that had secretly been moved in as a neighbour.

An awful event. :(:(:(

I know that area well and used to live within yards of the pub where it happened.

The parents will have to live with this for the rest of their lives.

They deserve sympathy not condemnation.

Would you say the same if they left the baby in the middle of the road? I own a German Shepherd and he is a very gentle and friendly dog, but I don't trust him around other people Kid's and I wouldn't with my own. He is on a lead in areas where kids are playing, although I have never had any problems with him. You can't leave a young child with ANY dog be it a Rottweiler or a Minature Poodle. It is irresponsible and you may have to deal with such terrible consequnces as these.

That said, I have sympathy that they have lost their child in this terrible tragedy, and I pity them for they will feel responsible, as will the Landlord, for the rest of their lives. I can even understand that you might feel the baby was safe in a crib or cot. Sadly that wasn't the case. RIP.

So you don't deny it! You've gone all religious :o;)

I'd prefere ethical. :D

I have an opinion on the matter but I wouldn't discuss it in a public forum. Nothing good comes of it, TbH this shouldn't even made the news, its an example of a slow news day having massive impacts on peoples lives. If they haven't got anything to broadcast they should show some Tom and Jerry re runs.

They've just named the Landlord of the pub Wayne Glaze.

I went to school with a guy called Wayne Glaze wonder if it's him

Not a very common name so could well be him, he was a year or two older then me so if he's around 45 it may be him.

Yeh, well done!

Dogs are unpredictable.

Dogs attack people.

Dogs should wear muzzles and be on leads in public areas...there is nothing unreasonable in that.

Dog owners should be fined if they fail to conform to those two reasonable stipulations to dog ownership. If they breach one or the other more than once then they should be disbarred from owning a dog.

Dogs yap, bark, piss and shit all over the place and (in the main) are owned by morons that treat them as penis extensions or little children.

Apologies to all good dog owners on the list that pick up their dogs crap and use muzzles ~ but it's time we stopped keeping dogs as pets.

I know it is a contentious position to take, and for that I apologise - but look on the upside...no more Crufts!

I'm not going to waste time debating this at length but there are huge benefits to dog ownership.

Have you ever owned a dog because from what you say I doubt it?.

Dogs are no more unpredicatable than people and generally far less dangerous when the are. Would you like to wear a muzzle everytime you went out?.

I trusted my alsation completely and regularly played with it by putting my entire forearm in its mouth with only a sleeve between me and its teeth and simply whispering the word "gently".

She would hold on so tightly I could lift her off the floor but she would never leave as much as a tooth mark.

She was loved by all the young kids who were friends of my son and never threatened them with any harm at all.

If you'd said all dogs should undergo a period of training that would be different. Kids are trained for years and if owners or their helpers cannot be bothered to train their dogs then they don't think enough of them.
