Ric Flair Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 If Fryatt is injured, then who is capable of playing alongside Hume? I have never been much of an Elvis fan and up until recently I thought O'Grady could mould in to a very good centre forward but playing in a struggling team is exposing his in-experience. It's hard.

If its with Hume then O'Grady purely for his presence and build. However personally I prefer elvis as he has goals, and a never say die attitude.

However personally I prefer elvis as he has goals, and a never say die attitude. Neither of them have goals to be fair!!! O'Grady has 2 in about 20 and Elvis has 5 in about 40. Awful. Atleast O'Grady is young and still learning and most of his appearances have been from the bench.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 You forgot to add the option "neither, I am so depressed at the thought of either of these clowns playing for my beloved football club that I cannot bring myself to select either of them." I'd play O'Grady if forced to at gunpoint but I'd rather bring back de Vries and play Hume off him than rely on either of these muppets to score the goals we need to stay up.
Thracian Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 We need the strength and determination of both for a multitude of reasons.
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 He may as well give Elvis a run, he may be useless be he's scored a few goals at shit level, maybe he has lernt to shoot and will become the Ghanian/Cockney wide boy version of Luca Toni Running out of patience with O'Grady, as I am with alot of our team.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 We need the strength and determination of both for a multitude of reasons. Trevor Benjamin had strength and determination but couldn't cut it in the Premiership. I don't see either of these making it at Championship level. Elvis is 25 for god's sake and I don't think he's even reached double figures in English league football. I know you personally want to play him on the right wing but I don't see him scoring or creating any more there than he has before. O'Grady has scored once in the league for us. They aren't the solution, it's just filling our team with more players who have atrocious goal records.
Dr The Singh Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 He may as well give Elvis a run, he may be useless be he's scored a few goals at shit level, maybe he has lernt to shoot and will become the Ghanian/Cockney wide boy version of Luca Toni Running out of patience with O'Grady, as I am with alot of our team. That's the reason I can't be arsed with some of these discussions, there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel, the level of inconsistancy with individuals, the team and management is begining to anger me!!
Master Fox Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 Well both of them are pretty damn useless; it’s not very reassuring or enjoyable trying to deicide between two different forms of crapness. I don’t think it makes any difference which one of them plays because neither will score. So I actually don’t care who starts.

Superb!! I'm having that ****er for my signature.
Jimmy Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 is it definate that fryatt's out or is he still just "doubtful"?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 I wish Elvis was a bit like Luca Toni playing for Italy at the World Cup. He doesn't have to score any goals but he'll still get in Team of the Season and we'll be champions. Sorted.
Master Fox Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 Can someone remove this thread; the thought of Elvis still playing for our club makes me feel physically sick. And to think we paid £250,000 for him. O'grady is a fat headed plank. And he's sh1t.
Jimmy Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 to be honest i think it has to be o'grady simply because hume drops deep often and elvis isnt nearly strong enough to hold the ball up, plus with logans kicking we need to have someone good in the air up front and o'grady is and he has played with hume and they linked quite well
ithuriel Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 having watched o'grady and hume playing together i have noticed that both run into the same spaces and that they get in each others way on occasion. therefore i would say either hume with elvis or o'grady with elvis. not that it makes much difference with our craptacular central midfield meastro johnson and his compatriot hughes.

I would point out that Johnson is Welsh and Hughes is Scottish but I take it you mean compatriots in the sense that they are both from the country of Crapland (ironically just above Scotland in the FIFA rankings).
Ric Flair Posted 29 September 2006 Author Posted 29 September 2006 Hammond: Don't leave me in cold Leicester City's Elvis Hammond today voiced his frustration at his failure to command a regular first-team spot. The 25-year-old Ghanaian striker scored twice in a behind-closed-doors midweek friendly against Coventry City, after notching the first goal in the 3-1 Carling Cup victory at Hereford. However, his Hereford appearance was only his third start of the season, and Hammond is desperate to re-establish himself at a time when City have failed to score in six of nine Championship games. City are sweating on the fitness of striker Matty Fryatt, whose goal at Sunderland earned them a valuable point. If Fryatt fails a fitness test today, Hammond may be back in the frame for tomorrow's clash at Midland rivals Birmingham. But the player believes: "The goals haven't changed anything. "It's very frustrating because I work hard all week and then sometimes I don't even get on the bench. "Then it's harder when you do get to play because you have to pick yourself back up. "I think I've done enough to start but it's the manager's decision. Whether it's the right one, well it's not for me to say." However, Hammond says he will stop short of demanding a meeting with City manager Robert Kelly to discuss his future. "Some players take a different route when they are not in the team and air their thoughts, but I'm not one to do that," he said. "If I did, I don't know how the manager would take it. That's why I just let my feet do the talking." Hammond's Carling Cup strike was also his first of the campaign - and his first start since a draw at Coventry a month ago. He said: "Hereford was a good game for me as I hadn't played for a while, and it was good to get 90 minutes under my belt. "It's also important for my fitness levels because there are no reserve games. It was also a great help for my confidence." Hammond, who joined City in a £225,000 move from Fulham in August last year following a loan spell, also enjoyed his involvement in the Sky Blues friendly. "They had a decent side out and a good challenge because it was not like playing against kids," he said. "I'm just trying to get the most I can out of the games I do play." Hammond has faced Birmingham before in one of his two Premiership appearances for Fulham in 2004. Sounds like Elvis is unhappy, let's hope we bounce him out of here. We don't need him, we've got Carl.
lcfc_jme Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 It'd have to be COG wouldn't it?? We played Elvis against a dreadful Ipswich side, and, in all fairness to him, he gave a very hardworking performance and ran his socks off, but that's all. His touch and overall play was nowhere near the standard we need against Brum, and he only seems to have decent games against lower league opposition.
shen Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 That's the reason I can't be arsed with some of these discussions, there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel, the level of inconsistancy with individuals, the team and management is begining to anger me!! Now that's not true... We're consistently shit!
fox123 Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 Sounds like Elvis is unhappy, let's hope we bounce him out of here. We don't need him, we've got Carl. is that not the commitment that we want tho from players, desperate to get in the side and do well!! i'd give him another chance, i wish more players would speak up like him least we'd know they give a sh1t
Ric Flair Posted 29 September 2006 Author Posted 29 September 2006 is that not the commitment that we want tho from players, desperate to get in the side and do well!! i'd give him another chance, i wish more players would speak up like him least we'd know they give a sh1t Did you not see him at Coventry this season? He epitmomised what is wrong with this team. Not good enough.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 Clubs should be able to put a shit player buyback clause in contracts. So LCFC could phone up Fulham and say "Hi there, Mr Coleman. Sorry about this but it would appear that the player we have signed from yourselves is shit. We did do some scouting and had a look at him but you know what it's like, a few slip through the net every now and then so we're going to send him back to you and you can refund the money in due course. Again, apologies for overlooking his complete and utter ineptitude as a footballer before we spent thousands of pounds of our supporters' hard-earned cash on the donkey. To be honest, we don't care that much anyway. Some of 'em will watch any old shite and we don't care about getting the others back, we'll continue to churn out the same old rubbish til we get bailed out again. Hope you're well. Love Tim and the gang."
fox123 Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 Did you not see him at Coventry this season? He epitmomised what is wrong with this team. Not good enough. don't get me wrong i aint the biggest elvis fan but, it aint just about one player tho is it! maybe he aint the most gifted but he has come out and said he wants to play and do well for this club and admitted he was worried about knocking on the managers door because he don't know what his reaction would be that tells me he wants to stay and help the cause! it also tells me kelly doesnt seem that aproachable maybe? and if a player feels he cannot aproach his manager then theres something wrong
