Stoke captain Michael Duberry has accused Leicester's Danny Tiatto of racially abusing Salif Diao during the Foxes' 2-1 win on Tuesday night.

Duberry claims Tiatto made the comments when the Australian defender and Diao, who is currently on loan at Stoke from Liverpool, clashed early on at the Walkers Stadium.

The Potters defender revealed he is unlikely to make a formal complaint, meaning no further action will be taken unless referee Graham Laws includes the incident in his match report.

Duberry told the Stoke Sentinel: "I'm not sure if the ref heard it himself but a lot of players did. And he (Tiatto) knows what he said. He should be disgusted with himself.

"He should have been sent off for the comment. We are trying to stamp out that sort of thing. I'm willing to speak out because we all wear the badge to kick it out.

"It wasn't a black or white remark, there was no mention of colour, but it's still racism. There's no point wearing those t-shirts if this sort of thing happens."

Senegal international Diao declined to talk after the game and both Tiatto and Leicester officials were unavailable for comment.

I'm wondering what he could of said - maybe you senegalian b*stard.

I'm very confused if it wasn't about the colour of his skin!!

If he's been 'racially abused' why on earth would he not follow it up formally?!

Might have called him an animal. Which one of them kicked him?

We called Tony adams a donkey - were we racist then too??

Is Duberry part of any religious group ie Sikh, or Christian???

I believe the term for what he is is Tosser. If tiatto has stepped out of line he should get kicked in the bollocks for it, but the correct way for stoke to deal with the matter is to report it, not go tellling tales........arsehole! didn't he defend bowyer and woodgate in their little incident?

Without sounding like a wuss we should still make internal inquiries into this. Obviously i haven't a clue what, if anything, has been said, but the guys right that they all wear the badges, it's been promoted at its peak over last week or so, i hope it's just an over reaction but i hope we don't sweep it under the carpet. We seem to get these bad reputations enough without anymore.

Maybe a spear thrower or something like that??

Disgraceful on Tiatto's part if true.

Don't be so melodramatic. It'll be more contrived crap for the PC police to make more of than it ever deserves.

Sounds like sour grapes to me.

I note Duberry ignores the vile assault by Diao on Tiatto in front of F1 last night.

That behaviour has no place in football either!

If it has no mention of colour, then it is to do with Country of Religion. If Tiatto has said something out of line, then he is wrong for doing so, but so was their bloke who blatantly kicked him last night

Let's kick the politics out of football and get on with the game I say. If I listed all the things I've been called on a football field it would have made a book.

As would be the same with me, both from players and even supporters lol (even though I don't play professionally!!). Banter is all good, and whilst I do like winding opposition players up, if a racial comment has been made it cannot be accepted (I am not a member of the PC brigade and I want politics out of football as well), especially considering we're meant to be a "main-player" in kicking racism out of football.

And if you listened to everything someone called you on here you'd be able to make a???:P

On a serious note, if it didn't regard colour then it smacks of political correctness to me, its pathetic, many many people say many many things in the heat of a sporting contest but unless they cross a particular line it should all be swept under the carpet after the game has finished. This is one area where football could learn a lot from those egg chasers!!

No one will know the what was said if anything, apart from those who heard whatever that was said.

Leicester City are a club that take the Kick it out campaign very seriously, so I agree with Benji in that it should looked into internally.

If something was said, it may cause issues within our squad as it's multi racial squad.

Your last sentence explains exactly why it's a load of crap. I'm sick of people using football for their own agenda. I don't suppose whacking someone in a tackle is necessarily racist but it f....g hurts and whoever does it deserves whatever they get back.
