Louise Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 He started playing well in his last four/five months with us, form which seems to have continued with Sheff Utd. I thought at the time it partly just in an attempt to gain a new contract, and partly because he responded better to Levein than to Adams, however now I'm wondering whether something changed off the pitch for him (we all know about his former gambling problems) at that point which made him improve his game, as he seems to have done well with Sheff Utd (better than he did for us in the Prem). That said, he also did suffer from the problem that many players face here (and I'm sure at other clubs, but I can't comment on those), of becoming one of the favourites of the boo boys after a few poor performances and then never being given a second chance.

If I had the choice of having him now I'd say yes because he's better than what we already have. I don't think we need look any further than Sheff U for a right winger. Paul Ifill is a very good right winger who I'm sure would be willing to come to us in the future. I' mpretty sure Sheff U would let us have him too. Seems a good idea to me.
dandannieldanok Posted 27 November 2006 Posted 27 November 2006 he had enough time to prove himself. I agree, he is a lot better than JLow but his work rate was too similar. He never produced the goods for us and was on too high wages. Warnock seems to be getting the best out of him.
