Mort Posted 1 December 2006 Posted 1 December 2006 I'd have thought a new manager would also be likley to axe Paddy as skipper... anythoughts who might replace him? Hume? Kisnorbo?
lookwhaticando Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 I'd have thought a new manager would also be likley to axe Paddy as skipper... anythoughts who might replace him? Hume? Kisnorbo? McAuley. Cool, calm, collected. Stearman otherwise. :)
lcfc_jme Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 McAuley. Cool, calm, collected. Stearman otherwise. :) Currently, the stats tell us Gareth McAuley is our best defender, with Paddy Mac as second best and Kisnorbo as third. Therefore it is only right that McAuley wears the armband once Paddy Mac is stripped of it. You want your capitan to lead by example, and who better to lead by example than our best center-back??
Louise Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Because the best player isn't always the best captain?
shiv Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Not putting Curbs as trying to be realistic (ish) so u put in ranieri? very realistic
l444ry Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 I thought that this thread was ridiculous because Kelly would be here at least until the takeover. But after this appalling show he should resign immediately. He had a slight argument as the side were not conceding many goals. After the three at Norwich and four (at the time of writing) today, he hasn't even got that hook to hang his hat on anymore.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 Redknapp will do fine, Kelly has done his chances of his next job some harm. Louise (Jamie Redknapp's Mrs) is fit as.............. What a shambles!!!!
ithuriel Posted 2 December 2006 Posted 2 December 2006 ive got to admit ive never seen poeple leaving in numbers with twenty minutes to go before , then again ive never seen such a poor display , even under levein. i was surprised we managed to keep it at 1-4 to be honest , i did have a bad feeling at the start of the game though and kept thinking this might be kellys waterloo
willy37 Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 milan was to come in and sack rk who would be your ideal replacement? alan curbishley maybe...
uncle_connolly Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Alan Curbishley straight away. Experience at getting out of the Championship (with Charlton) and establishing them in the top flight, he's a big name and would be or should be the ideal target for Mandaric.
Southern Fox Home Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 I dont think Curbs will come down the Championship. We are still many seasons away before we have a chance of returning. Dowie??
ithuriel Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 dowie to get us up , then get rid and employ a better manager to keep us up. if we are going to have money , why not.
lildave3 Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 I would love Curbs, but doubt we'll get him. Jamie Redknapp wouldn't be so bad, maybe Gary Mac?
breadandcheese Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 dowie to get us up , then get rid and employ a better manager to keep us up. if we are going to have money , why not. I would love to see that. [Day after promotion] "Thank you Mr. Dowie. What a wonderful job you've done, returning premiership football to a rubbish championship team. Now clear your desk, you've been relieved of your duties with immediate effect. Yes I know we were more likely to see league 1 than feature on Sky Sports Super Sunday. You have done a tremendous job. Now go, I've sacked you." Quite frankly, I will be happy with a manager who can stop us flirting with the relegation zone before I start thinking of promotion.
Kilworthfox Posted 3 December 2006 Author Posted 3 December 2006 I would love Curbs, but doubt we'll get him. Jamie Redknapp wouldn't be so bad, maybe Gary Mac? I don't understand where you come to that conclusion Gary Mac tho good shout

samcobblin Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 You lot live in dream world Ranieri McCleish ha ha ha How about getting Martin O back now we have money
lookwhaticando Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 You lot live in dream world Ranieri McCleish ha ha ha How about getting Martin O back now we have money HaHaHa! We have nowhere near the amount of money we'd need to lure him back away from Villa.
lookwhaticando Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Actually, while I think about it... Martin O'Neill is more fanciful than Ranieri!
Kilworthfox Posted 3 December 2006 Author Posted 3 December 2006 Actually, while I think about it... Martin O'Neill is more fanciful than Ranieri! I want to know why no one joned in with my Kelly out song on sat according to the poll over 90% of you think it but apparantly will not sing it!
leeleic Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Curbs!!!! he's defo the man for the job!!! we have so much to offer managers in the way of quality supporters, quality stadium and training facilities. Just need something for them to spend!!!! MM, save us!!
Thracian Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 I don't understand where you come to that conclusion Gary Mac tho good shout There was much talk about Gary Mac being in the wings before Kelly's appointment. If memory serves he was linked to the idea of Martin George bidding for the club but I can't be certain. If the notably reliable guy who tipped me off is still around and quotes his old user name then perhaps he'd bring me up to date.

Great stuff, always liked Gmc he's a decent bloke who IMHO did a good job at c*v who at the time were going through a bad patch
Simon Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 My personal choice would be one of Steve Cotterill, Martin Allen, Alan Curbishley, or perhaps Jamie Redknapp. Most of them are not particularly realistic, but I'm struggling to think of anyone who is a) Actually any good and b) We actually have a chance of getting.
