Thracian Posted 30 November 2006 Posted 30 November 2006 Chuckle you got me wrong....meant to refer to the fact previously i had got an extra sub on teamsheet. My maths teacher was Scottish though! Your maths, my spelling - Hullfox will never rest!
Manwell Pablo Posted 30 November 2006 Posted 30 November 2006 Your maths, my spelling - Hullfox will never rest! Not hit a nerve has he.

Mikey Posted 30 November 2006 Posted 30 November 2006 You forgot McAuley. There we go put a few half decent in there for ya
lookwhaticando Posted 30 November 2006 Author Posted 30 November 2006 There we go put a few half decent in there for ya Thanks!
Thracian Posted 30 November 2006 Posted 30 November 2006 Not hit a nerve has he. Like you wouldn't believe. I left journalism because after being conned into subbing and experiencing the trials of: a) Turning the ramblings of household name footballers into something readable... b) Getting newly qualified graduate journalists to put the story in the first paragraph instead the last... c) Re-writing headlines so people read em instead of wiping their arses on the pages... d) Paying detailed attention to house style when some hacks hadn't heard of it.... d) And checking the spellings of umpteen hundred colleagues... I found it mind-numbingly inconsequential after what had been a cracking life.. And, by the time I finished I was drained of all enthusiasm and delighted instead to exchange a few views in a casual chat site where no-one was likely to give a toss how close the script was to the Queen's english. Now I'm back to re-reading every line of copy like the prison camp days of the Birmingham Post. I've even put a dictionary on the table...you bet Hullfox hit a nerve. I was a reluctant journalist in the first place and if editors hadn't kept tempting me with apparently decent jobs I'd have left it long before I did. Now, cos of a moment's mental relaxation, I've been forced back into the old routine... It's just like the first day of pre-season football training. Except there's no purpose. Just Hullfox waiting, waiting, waiting .... for the next sodding spelling mistake!
Webbo Posted 30 November 2006 Posted 30 November 2006 Time to do something radical. ---------Logan ---McAuley - Kisnorbo Gradel - King - Weso - Porter ---------Williams Hume - Dodds - Hammond Hume's ill, and hammond?! He wouldn't get in my subbuteo team.
lookwhaticando Posted 30 November 2006 Author Posted 30 November 2006 Hume's ill, and hammond?! He wouldn't get in my subbuteo team. I'd like his pace to stretch the defence and allow the sharp-shooters Hume and Dodds to take the chances.
Mort Posted 30 November 2006 Posted 30 November 2006 For what its worth... Logan* Stearman McCarthy Kisnorbo Sheehan Sylla Hughes Tiatto Porter Hume Hammond Subs: Hendo, McAuley, Weso, Williams*, Dodds*. Logan as keeper, but it'd be nice to give Hendo a run out because, to be honest, i dont think their's much diffrence between either's ability. Williams on the bench if he's up to it, if not then... er... King? Welsh ? failing that a bloke of concrete... anybody but Low! Dodds, Fryatt is unfit (for what ever reason) and it just not putting it together a target man who's actually a striker and somone who can offer more besides... bring him on for Hammond after a bit, his fitness wont be great but I'd still be surprised if he was any worse than Fryatt's been of late. None of this will happen of course :pinch:
blueblood88 Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Thought I would bring this up, can't believe how far we have come in terms of the team line up in a few years. We put up with some real dross back then!

Kitchandro Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Is this the game we lost 4-1? I can't believe Stearman plays in the Premiership.
Fox92 Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Is this the game we lost 4-1? I can't believe Stearman plays in the Premiership. I think it is, yes. One of the worst games I have ever been too. Took some stick that day at school, very heavy. And, I can't either.
HitchinFox Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Christ. Some bad memories there. I think I've mentally blocked most of that season. Mediocre mediocrity at its very mediocre worst.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 You don't even need to bring this up to prove how far we have come, just watch a season review from four or five season's ago. Well said. Any why this specific game? Have people nothing better to do?
acooling08 Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Stearman, McCarthy and Hume are low end Championship. Everyone else is League 1 standard or lower. How the hell did we go from League cup and comfortable Prem status in 2000 to that 5 years later?

seenitall Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 But surely the current team is the worst in 40 years - what a relief to see a much better one from the past!
lcfc_sam_p Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Stearman lower end championship? he currently plays for wolves. Who are 14th (I think) in the prem.
acooling08 Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Stearman lower end championship? he currently plays for wolves. Who are 14th (I think) in the prem. I know, and I find it very weird. He is no where near Prem standard imo. On MOTD he always seems to be in the highlights getting skinned or giving the ball away.
