Head Honcho Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 Just walked out of his 1/4 final against Hendrie
Milky Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 , he was only 4-1 down in first to 9 and leading in the six frame aswell. how bizarre
Head Honcho Posted 14 December 2006 Author Posted 14 December 2006 From the BBC Cheers Bertfox I'm a lazy B'stard ain't I?
Joe. Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 He must have been really down or worked up to forfit the match
dandannieldanok Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 He wastes his talent by playing up like this. If he was more focused he could blow the sport away.
Stuliasz Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 Wouldn't be surprised to see him retire after something like this. Whether it is a stunt to bring him back into the media limelight or not I don't know. All I do know is that if I was in that audience I would be pretty pissed off with him and personally write to him to get my money back

Plus Ronnie says in his statement he will be back so retirement isn't on the agenda just yet.

Lord Nibblington Posted 14 December 2006 Posted 14 December 2006 This is hardly out of character for Ronnie. In fact, I don't even think it's the first time he's done something like this. He'll be back. Always is.
Ric Flair Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Read his book, the man's sitting on the finest line that has genuis on one side and insane on the other. Amazing to watch though, even though i'm not a massive snooker fan he's probably the most entertaining sportsman in the entire world when he's focussed.
IDEA OR IKEA Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Its obviously a pr stunt. These days there is often more money to be made away from sports like snooker than playing it, gets his name bantered about again as a 'bad boy', just incase anyone forgets.
mr_jex Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Made me smile to see him get a cob on and go off in a strop. He's like a child when its not going his way.
Thracian Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 I don't think people of an even and conforming temperament ever understand anyone who's not. That's one of the reasons I think Roy Keane will make a good manager and others I can think of will not. In fact I'm not even sure there is anything to understand. They are just different in their response to control. They often feel hemmed in by rules and regulations and just need to let it out and be defiant once in a while. Authority of course detests such people but if you paint them out of the picture you're looking at a Fenland landscape and perhaps, metaphorically, a lot of empty seats in the end.

It's not as black and white as that. Is ROS really out of control? Or is that just how his image is best kept in terms of remaining in the spotlight, selling more books, making more money for longer?
Bert Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Without doubt one of the most talented persona in the world. I'm an avid snooker/pool fan and player, and playing on a full size snooker table is hard but to be able to do it with both hands equally as good, is taking it to the next level. He's got a screw loose in his head. And btw he's gave a frame up before against Stephen Maguire a few years back, but nothing like this, especially against his worst enemy Stephen Hendry.

Ronny O'Sulivan's unstable, but he's not one for PR stunts. When he's on his game he's the best snooker player ever to have played. The absolute demolition of John Higgins a couple of years ago showed this. But like alot of very talented sports man he's not all there. Lets just remember a few things about Ronny He used to be a sex addict He used to be a Jew Then a Christian Then a Muslim Then decided they were all a load of shit He once played left handed just to make the person he was playing look like a fool He once called snooker boring One of his best mates is Prince Nasaam Hamid, another stable individual This is just another example of craziness. He adds a bit of excitement to snooker if you ask me.

Manwell Pablo Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 His dad is/was in prison for murder. He used to own a sex shop as well didn't he. He's barmy. Quality entertainment all round
RowlattsFox Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 i get the impression that just because its ronnie it doesn't matter. it would annoy me if i was a snooker player and a fan. what would happen if like when we was losing 4-1 to sheff wed the other week and a couple of players thought 'fook it' and walked off?

Good point. Although a few would of cheered if it was Kelly that walked off.
The People's Hero Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 On reflection, yeah, he's a biscuit short of a.... well, a biscuit really.
