Brummie-FOX Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 When Chelsea scored the winner against us. Can't remember the situation well but we either went 1-0 --> 2-0 ------------------------> 3-2 Chelsea or 1-0 ---> 1-1 ---> 2-1 --------------------- 2-3 to Chelsea James Scowcroft scored the two for us I think..
lildave3 Posted 1 January 2007 Posted 1 January 2007 It was Erland Johnson wasn't it? Leboeuf converted the penalty. Can't really remember, like i said, i was only young
Cobbo Posted 3 January 2007 Posted 3 January 2007 I remember sitting in my halls at uni watching final score with the Leicester score taking forever to come in - It was as if I just knew they were going to equalise. Also was trying to relieve tension by holding my breath until the FT came through, nearly killed myself That's exactly what I was doing - except in a house with a load of people that hated Leicester. It didn't read the score out on final score - but came through as a bloody score draw on the pools right at the end. I went mental!

I was on the front row of the away end right next to the Forest fans, sat next to my best mate who's a Forest fan.

Bert Posted 3 January 2007 Posted 3 January 2007 can rememeber at st james park when we battled for the whole 90 in despiration of staying up and then in the last kick Carl Cort put them one up. Tim Flowers actually played well... What's that supposed to mean? Flowers was quality for us, probably the best keeper we've had in the last 10 years. The Arsenal game! last game of the season when we were in the premiership we looked set to end there unbeaten run, when (ok two goals) two goals came in the last 10 mins, one was offside and the other was a no way penalty, i will never forgive Paul Durkin for that day. and after dickov has scored for us and we held on for so long, it hurt so much, still havent got over it. although i went to the fulham game that season we lost 2-0 thanx to two goals from john. that secured our relegation i cryed all day after that. Sorry to be nob, but no way were them goals scored in the last 10 minutes.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 January 2007 Posted 3 January 2007 Sorry to be nob, but no way were them goals scored in the last 10 minutes. A real nob would have also pointed out that we actually got relegated at Charlton.
Bert Posted 3 January 2007 Posted 3 January 2007 A real nob would have also pointed out that we actually got relegated at Charlton. Ok, we'll split it 70/30. You being the 70, of course.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 January 2007 Posted 3 January 2007 Ok, we'll split it 70/30. You being the 70, of course. Wahey! Can I make a big nob joke now?? I think I just spoilt the moment.
Bert Posted 3 January 2007 Posted 3 January 2007 Wahey! Can I make a big nob joke now?? I think I just spoilt the moment. Yes, completely. Now get back to tidying your room.
luffbra Posted 3 January 2007 Posted 3 January 2007 last minute at middlesboro, think it was an own goal. 3-1 up in stoppage time, drew 3-3. THat was awful - what made it worse was that there were no Middlesbrough fans left in the ground - just excited Leicester fans expecting a win. I saw a Boro fan in a pub on the way back to the station who congratulated us on our fine win ...
luffbra Posted 3 January 2007 Posted 3 January 2007 I was on the front row of the away end right next to the Forest fans, sat next to my best mate who's a Forest fan. THat was the day they were throwing Boost bars at us ... they were giving them out free outside the ground ...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 January 2007 Posted 3 January 2007 THat was awful - what made it worse was that there were no Middlesbrough fans left in the ground - just excited Leicester fans expecting a win. I saw a Boro fan in a pub on the way back to the station who congratulated us on our fine win ... I was getting ready to go out at uni when that happened. I'm sure it was an afternoon kickoff so must have been a heavy session?!?! Anyway, checked and it was 3-1, went upstairs to brush me teeth and vaguely heard the words "Maccarone" (I think it was? Did he cross it for Curtis's own goal?) and "equaliser" from the TV downstairs, couldn't quite believe it.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 January 2007 Posted 3 January 2007 THat was the day they were throwing Boost bars at us ... they were giving them out free outside the ground ... That's the one! They were a new tropical flavour with a foreign-sounding name as I recall. They were raining down on me. Most of the Forest fans were chucking them at Alan Rogers though.
lcfc_jme Posted 3 January 2007 Posted 3 January 2007 Mine are all from the cup : The Chelsea cup game that we were cheated out of. I was young at the time and that right proper upset me that did Also the cup final we lost to Tottenham, as I wasn't too old when we got beat there as well and I were very upset again The goal we conceded against Wycombe that knocked us out of the cup after their manager had been sent off!! More angry and embarrassed than anything with that!! And most recently the Villa cup game a few weeks back where they scored in the last minute when I honestly thought we'd done enough to earn penalties. That was upsetting as well (although this time I didn't cry), though I was proud to have been there and be a part of it.
luffbra Posted 3 January 2007 Posted 3 January 2007 That's the one! They were a new tropical flavour with a foreign-sounding name as I recall. They were raining down on me. Most of the Forest fans were chucking them at Alan Rogers though. That's right ... Horrible - and went that goal went in, I almost barfed them up!! Felt empty all the way home
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Franks own goal vs chelsea in injury time just when we'd just gone 2-1 up was particularly hard to take I recall, but that was nevertheless a good season ...and like many of the aforementioned, the 3-3 game at Boro (made me feel physically sick), all 5 goals for Bolton on our openening day drubbing in our last season at Filbo. Didn't we also lose 3-0 to Derby that season at home having completely dominated them for the first 45 minutes, that was the first time I had to walk out early, was gutted! ....and who could forget that freak of a freak goal Derby scored when they beat us 1-0 at home, some bloke (Taylor I think) punted it up in the air and it bounced in under the crossbar with Flowers in limbo. We were doing really well that season and Derby were right at the bottom and I was convinced we were going to thrash them with my tauntings to some guy in the away crowd, how wrong could I have been
The People's Hero Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Especially the one scored by Jack Lester in the 96th minute, 02-03. I STILL haven't seen us beat the trees at their hovel.. I agree with Ultra here. That goal REALLY hurt. We defended like muppets for the last 10 minutes of that game. Forest were awful. :(
mancunianfox Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Bloody hell, only one other mention of the Swindon game? How young are you lot? Got to go with the Swindon goal as well. Gutted.
Monk Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Does anyone remember the goal Everton scored against us at Filbo in 94-95? Kevin Poole had a freekick outside the box, he dribbled it out and picked it up to place it down. Ref gave a free kick for handball, everton player ran in and lobbed it over poole into the goal. And also when Dion scored for cov against us last game before christmas 94-95, the ball stuck in the frame of the goal, really rubbed the 2-0 scoreline in and made it feel even colder than the -10 degrees it already was. And when we lost 4-3 to Newcastle after being 3-1 at St James Park. Oh yeah, and the Spurs cup final goal. That sucked.
The People's Hero Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Oh yeah, and the Spurs cup final goal. That sucked. Big time. I was watching it in a pub FULL of Spurs fans.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Erm, Paul Bodin for Swindon with the penalty that made it 4-3 in the Play Off final '93. By a long long way. Paul Bodins goal actuallly made me cry.
Geo V Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 The Middlesbro one was a double edged sword for me as it not only ripped my heart out seeing Leicester chuck away a guaranteed 3 points but it cost me over a grand in a footy bet! The one that pains me most is the Wycombe goal in the cup. Not only did we miss out on a chance of FA Cup glory to a shite side, we never recovered from it and went on a stinker of a run to get relegated and the rest is history.
Master Fox Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Roy Essandoh. The only time I've ever actually cried with sadness at a football game. It still hurts. The Wycombe game i think is the only game i cried at as well. Peter Crouch's hat-trick for villa against us All 5 of Bolton's goals first game of the season All four of Wolves goals..... Swindon... ArrrrHHHH!!! The list is endless...........
