Floating Fox Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 You'd think earning £250,000 a year would encourage our players to perform and play well really, wouldn't you? Still, better blame the fans for their under-par performances and make out that anyone who doesn't praise these useless wasters to the rafters isn't a true fan, despite the thousands of pounds we've spent watching their unique brand of laissez-faire football. You are right in a way fezz but what good does booing them do (Although I still do It )

Still, better blame the fans for their under-par performances and make out that anyone who doesn't praise these useless wasters to the rafters isn't a true fan, despite the thousands of pounds we've spent watching their unique brand of laissez-faire football. I totally agree that footballers are overpaid and frankly under-perform on a regular basis. But, unfortunately that is the nature of modern football. The way that i regard going to watch a match is that it pays to be supportive and encouraging or you might as well be an away fan wishing the worst on your team. It is counter-productive and a hindrance. The time to grumble is afterwards when all has been said and done. I do think "true" fans have a duty to be commited during the 90 minutes as their duty as supporters. Block N is a means of articulating noisy and vociferous support, support that we currently lack on regular matchdays, and one that needs to be re-instated as part of going to watch Leicester.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 You are right in a way fezz but what good does booing them do (Although I still do It ) I won't boo players like Porter or Hume, who will more often than not bust a gut for the cause - but the vast majority of them are complete wankers who have alienated a large section of the fanbase in the past couple of years. There's only so much support you can give. The atmosphere might be bad but if we continue to hurtle towards League One I can't see too many people bothering about the atmosphere. It's time the players took some responsibility and you could argue that all this support we are being encouraged to give them is just rewarding the mediocrity (and that's being kind) that we've become accustomed to. Just posing a few difficult questions to see how the 'Ultras' would deal with relegation and seeing what block N is all about.
davieG Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 We should send them a real message by throwing toilet rolls on to the pitch , they make great streamers and I always got a couple to throw at away games when 'I were a lad'
foss1884 Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 We should send them a real message by throwing toilet rolls on to the pitch , they make great streamers and I always got a couple to throw at away games when 'I were a lad' I remember once in the Carling Stand that during a cup game toilet rolls were thrown, it looked quite effective! I suppose it would constitute as a missile! On the topic of relegation, that is not an issue. I am a Leicester supporter. I am used to turbulence and uncertainty, even at my tender age. That is the essence of the club! I want Block N to work importantly as i feel it will restore some pride in the fan base if other fans see a section that is prepared to sing noisily for 90 minutes. At this current point, i think it is more vital than ever with passion be sapped from our support.
FNQ Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Do we think N1 is going to have more singers than L1?
potter3 Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Do we think N1 is going to have more singers than L1? Depends on how many poeple say: "I'll wait and see how well it goes first" Depends how many people sing in L1, can't be more than 200 surely
Leonisco Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 I'll definitely be there. Once again, well done all lads involved, you're a credit to this club.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 I'll definitely be there. Once again, well done all lads involved, you're a credit to this club. Aren't L1 supposed to stay where they are, a la Southampton? Just a thought.
Head Honcho Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 hello all. please do not make out that all family groups have a problem with swearing!! i sit in F1 with my kids, all of us being STH, we sat in block N for a couple of years before moving to the kop, it was the kids who wanted to move because it became boring and quiet in there!! i have had stewards ask me if i would like them to ask some people not to swear around us, but my answer is that i do not want them to say anything!!! because if i didnt want my kids to hear it i wouldnt take them!! however i do have rules for my kids, they are allowed to join in with the chant at goal kicks, but as they are only aged between 9 and 12 i do not think it is right that they are swearing there heads of all game!! they do join in with other songs but just leave out the swear words, apart from the odd slip, witch is quite funny seeing the faces if i hear them. i was thinking of moving for the cov game , but from what i have read on here then i do not think we will be welcome, all because i have kids with me. good luck with it, i think it is a good idea!! Love it!
FNQ Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Aren't L1 supposed to stay where they are, a la Southampton? Just a thought. That's the idea yes. No point in simply moving L1 into the family stand.
foss1884 Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 That's the idea yes. No point in simply moving L1 into the family stand. We want L1 to remain intact and not to move across to Block N. The whole idea over a singing section in Block N is to appeal mainly to singers in The Kop in order to unify and concentrate these supporters in one section for maximum effect and to engage in highly effective banter with the away support. At the minute, noise is tepid and rather inaudible as the singers are spread across the back and the singing does not move forwards in the stand. These singers need to respond to this call to transfer so that their efforts are not wasted. If this idea really takes off, the noise will be deafening and i seriously cannot wait!
MC Prussian Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Start a new program at school "Football chants for kiddies". The youth is the future fanbase.

Daggers Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 They may be the future, but we are today I can see the embossed stationary already
Magictv Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 So what is it that makes N1 full of people just looking for 'a bit of banter' but L1 full of foul mouthed chavs who think they're hard? They seem pretty much the same idea anyway. Still, if it generates an atmosphere then it's good so best of luck with it

I respect what they are doing and what they have done in terms of generating some support for the team. But is on a small-scale with only a small group at the back willing to sing. Block N will be a designated block where the entire area will be singing in unison to liven up proceedings and hopefully in conjunction with L1 improve the atmosphere!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 L1 has a bad reputation. We've got a chance to make our own reputation. Kind of like the Priory, but for football hooligans.
filbertway Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Kind of like the Priory, but for football hooligans. Although it seems more like a football hooligan academy, seeing 12 year olds getting frog marched out To be fair at least the L1 boys sing and try to save some of our blushes, even if theres the odd few that are just there to be wannabe hooligans.
foss1884 Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Although it seems more like a football hooligan academy, seeing 12 year olds getting frog marched out To be fair at least the L1 boys sing and try to save some of our blushes, even if theres the odd few that are just there to be wannabe hooligans. Exactly, i respect them for that. Block N is being created to boost the atmosphere and assist L1 in generating some much-needed noise to drown out the away fans. Far too often, the away support makes noise that is unmatched by ourselves. Hopefully, we are now better equipped to give them a run for their money!

Hopefully with both making a decent noise, it might spread to the rest of the crowd. I know what it's like when your in the middle near people that dont sing, as singing by your self sounds stupid. If they can hear us though, it might spur them on to sing. If that makes sence?
SystonFox Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 ill move to block N. ill ring the club tomorrow but i cant get down before the cov game to switch my seat. im hoping they just let me in with my current ST booklet. ill sit (or stand) anywhere i can and sing all the songs. is swearing frowned upon as in oh nottingham is full of shit?
shrood Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 can someone dodge the eagle eyes of the stewards and make a couple of videos of N1 in action? gutted i cant make it and would love to see how it goes
lcfc_jme Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Glad to see the club are staying true to their word and actually marketing the idea for us in order to help us have a successful trial period. Hopefully this'll make the people outside of FoxesTalk aware of what is going on and bring them into N block for the game. I'm a little concerned now though about this trial going pear-shaped. The club used my bloody name on something I didn't even say so it'll be all fingers pointed at me if this isn't a success now!!
