Simi Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Did anyone see two guys holding up a Serbia flag during the game? That was me and Flynny. Yeh I saw that, Quality . Another name that I can put to a face.
AyewJoking Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Why dont you sing out of curiosity? I have a quiet voice although I guess thats not so important as long as I'm joining in. Also I'm on the front row and it seems like your voice isnt going anywhere (if you know what I mean)
Thracian Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 i heard from standupandsing that Peter Jones took the drum away as it was a target for the coin throwing that was going on? On the advice of Police. By the way I had Standup and his team of helpers as joint Man of the Match. What an absolutely tremendous achievement. I was speaking to a relative who sits that stand regularly and he reckons normally it like a Sunday on a branch line station, nothing much ever happens. The few souls who brave the place are easily drowned out by the visiting masses and a few token gestures are about as much as they can usefully muster. I told him he might get a suprise and at halftime he said he was gobsmacked. Jus what the club needed and more of. There was a bit of coin throwing from the Coventry camp but you know they're in testing times cos it was all pennies as I saw so I left what came my way on the floor. Leicester side was virtually non-stop singing and no trouble or signs or disorder at all. The stewards were terrific too, very chatty, got to know a few of us personally and helped it all go with a swing. Personally I feel knackered. I've only spent a few hours out of bed this week cos of this utterly draining flu bug and my wife insisted I shouldn't go off working this morning nor should I go to the football. Married life's all about compromise so I said I'd meet her halfway. I didn't go to do the work! But it's not a recommended first day out while still flued up. A few chants in the South Stand these recent weeks and you've done your bit but Standup and his pals have all got those Ever-ready Longlife Batteries I reckon cos they never let up for a minute while the match was on. Altogether a cracking day, brilliant result and the great sight of the Coventry section rapidly emptying from 4.15 onwards. One-nil to the North Stand. But hell, don't we need to do something about the East Stand. They seemed about as animated as 10,000 soldiers from the Terracotta Army.

Libertine Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 It really is a shit ground. Couldn't hear a thing from you lot and apparently vice versa.
Flynny Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Yeh I saw that, Quality . Another name that I can put to a face. Whereabouts were you, then? Turns out that without a crest on it its actually a Russian flag, but should have that sorted for the next game. I know the drum has been criticised, but it was actually really good. Kinda missed it in the second half, actually.
Sods Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 N block was awesome today, absouloutely awesome. The drum was taken away for target hitting but no coins were thrown at him, as he was behind me (bloddy psycho). Was brilliant standing the whole game and signing. I dont think we went more than a minute not singing. Most time we were celebrating goals Well done andy and Jamie, you looked very proud today if that was you.

No, the Russian flag is white at the top, red at the bottom - we were holding it with red at the top and white at the bottom so we were alright. We're just missing that emblem thing in the middle.
Flynny Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 did anyone see the cov scum throw a can of carling, i think it hit a young girl. my mate was also struck in the head with a 20p Look on the bright side, it could have been a penny. No, the Russian flag is white at the top, red at the bottom - we were holding it with red at the top and white at the bottom so we were alright. We're just missing that emblem thing in the middle. Yeah, I'm gonna print one out and staple it to it or something.

Leicester Lass Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 The family stand were a disgrace with the mexican wave though, we must've counted down about 10 times in a row and still it got nowhere
Sods Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 The family stand were a disgrace with the mexican wave though, we must've counted down about 10 too many times in a row and still it got nowhere
john_lcfc Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 coins being lobbed was always going to happen in my opinion, it happens in L1 at all big matches i.e derby, cov etc. shame it happended in N1 today meaning the drum got taken away. not that im the biggest fan of drums

Here's to the next one - and the sooner the better.
