stez Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 He's a decent player.....we'll have a team full of oz's soon though ah, but if we're losing tiatto the australio/english balance must be maintained
Webbo Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 Right then..... here's a new one.... damm you beat me to it. tbh i've never heard of him. he plays for PSV would he really want to come here? is he a regular for them?
Ricey Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 I'm suprised we've even been linked to Culina, I doubt he'd leave PSV to play in the Championship.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 I'm suprised we've even been linked to Culina, I doubt he'd leave PSV to play in the Championship. Maybe he's an idiot?
Dames Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 Maybe he don't get much of a look in at PSV ? A decent wage packet, the lure of first team football and the promise of premiership football in a season or two could actually bring him here. Plus hes a center mid so hopefully Johnson or Jarret or even both are on thier way.
Brainy Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 Didn't Jurgen Colin leave a Dutch team to join Norwich?
bold_fox Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 Heard a rumour that the club and in particular MM are keeping a close eye on the availability on two Premiership managers. The first - has become increasingly upset by the way his club has been treating him. The club has questioned his commitment to the team, and his decisions else where have been the main focus of blame for the clubs bad run of form..... The second - looks doomed that the club are to go down. He is looking to jump a sinking ship, following an obvious wrong decision to take the job in the first place.....

The second is definitely Curbs.

Martin Jol and Curbs No chance for both methinks.
dandannieldanok Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 Martin Jol and Curbs No chance for both methinks. Well I don't think Curbs will last much longer in the Eggert regime. Not that I'd want him anymore. We are better looking at the top of the lower league, like Sheff Weds did with Brian Laws. We need a manager and players with the winning mentatility. There is no question the problems at West Ham run much deeper than the management but it is worrying how Curbs seems to be resigned to relegation.
bold_fox Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 Second is Curbs..... The first is a lot more exciting, but i doubt they could pull it off...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 Second is Curbs..... The first is a lot more exciting, but i doubt they could pull it off... And where did these wonderful nuggets of information come from then?
Brainy Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 The top one could also be Curbs because there's an article in one of today's papers saying that he isn't talking to one of his players due to gambling addiction. Also Anton Ferdinand told him a relative was ill in America and he wanted to go and see her. It's been reported that it was a lie and he went for a break. I'm not sure whether that is totally correct but I think you get the picture. Crazy times at Upton Park..

I might be talking shite but didn't MON have a terrible time with Norwich after being sucessful with Wycombe??? I still think Curbs would be great manager. He will also be able to attract much bigger players than anyone from the lower leagues. I would love to see Curbs here, he built Charlton with little or no money and they played good football. Seeing as MM seems to love talking about 'experience' I doubt he will opt for a lower league manamger

Seeing as MM seems to love talking about 'experience' I doubt he will opt for a lower league manamger Curbs is still a good manager, I'll agree with you there. But I make my judgements using a bit of David Brent wisdom: "It's not about never falling, it's about rising every time you fall." Basically my point is that I judge managers on how well they react to problems with form, players causing unrest e.t.c. It just seems to me that Curbs is not strong enough to get a team out of trouble and did well to keep out of it at Charlton. There is no question life under MM will be a rollercoaster, could he cope? He needs to be at a settled club with a board that is likely to stick with their coaching team. Remember MM is ruthless and is notorious for creating a revolving door effect.

I like the idea of a revolving door and excitement after several years of dull dross. It may be dangerous but it would be interesting.

Brainy Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 It might be a RUMOUR thread but we could do with a SOURCE. He clearly ignores us when we ask him his source, thats when it's not from from football-rumours.
bold_fox Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 It might be a RUMOUR thread but we could do with a SOURCE. He clearly ignores us when we ask him his source, thats when it's not from from football-rumours. I've not been ignoring you. I clearly don't sit looking at the screen waiting for a reply.... In answer to your question, the source someone who is involved with the club and who has access to the gossip and rumours that circulate the board room at the club.... If you look at my original post, i said that the club and MM were looking at other managerial options... This is obvious to everyone on this forum... If we are looking to get into the Prem and be solidated there then we need an experinced manager... Everyone, including RK knows this... It doesn't mean he's gonig to get the sack, its just that MM is looking at other options. Regarding the two managers in question, its more a case of the club and MM keeping an eye on their progress and whether a chance to approach them arises... The two managers MM is currently looking at are Stuart Pearce and Alan Curbishley. Stuart Pearce - following his acceptance of the England U21's, Man city have gone on a terrible run and are getting ever closer to the relegation zone. The club have questioned SP's commitment to the cause, and in doing so undermined him in front of his players. This has caused dressing room unrest, and Pearce as you can imagine is not happy. Alan Curbishley - this is an obvious one. He's had a shocker at West Ham. They looked doomed for relegation, and the investers are considering other managerial options. As i said earlier, this is just a rumour... And as this is a rumours thread i'd thought i'd post it.
Geo V Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 Gotta laugh! Pearce, Curbs blah blah blah. The rumours are sinking to an all time low!! I cant wait for Fabio Capello to take over once he is sacked from Real Madrid.
