The People's Hero Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 I'll be 20 and a half, the senior member of the side. May be a bit on the old side for Thrac <_< Afraid so mate, you'd only be keeping a younger, hungrier, future international out of the side.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 I don't see why not. It's not like unfit, past it, losers don't play there every week. I'm a bit concerned that it would lead to Rob Kelly signing me up and playing me on the right wing with disastrous results, leading to utter condemnation from the fans for not making the effort after being out of breath five minutes into my debut at home to Plymouth and lack of composure for missing fourteen open goals away at Crystal Palace. I still finish above Andy Johnson in the Player of the Season voting, however.
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 March 2007 Author Posted 28 March 2007 I'll be 20 and a half, the senior member of the side. May be a bit on the old side for Thrac <_< Hold on, he hasn't agreed to it yet .
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 March 2007 Author Posted 28 March 2007 If I am in the country I would be proud to turn up as long as you can get the Birchster to run around the pitch a few times with Taggart and Elvis. (I havent booked summer hols to Cyprus yet or the trip with my son and his eveil mother to Disney World so I cant at this stage confirm the dates) I`d slot nicely in the heart of the central midfield for the over 21s (only just made it, squeezed in by 13 years). Im Neil Ruddock shaped although the gym work is going well this spring and I should be fully fit to boss the midfield with the tackling skills of The Horses elbow and the distribution of AJ. I`d also happily accept the captaincy . Oh aye, I see what you've done there, it's a bit like a girl putting "cuddely" in her personal ad aint it.
Ric Flair Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 I will endeavour to be there for the over 21's. I am competently crap in each position, which should see me fit the bill. May I ask whether we'll be doubling our efforts on the training ground in the lead up to the game? because let's face it, we're a smashing bunch of lads.

I guess that would be a yes.
Geo V Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 Oh aye, I see what you've done there, it's a bit like a girl putting "cuddely" in her personal ad aint it. After that comment I hope you qualify for the u21s in central-midfield!

Nearly we'll be doubling our drinking in the pub becaue we're a smashing bunch of lads. oh and Fezo is Fezo. If it get really bad I may have to set my Excuse ometer to 12 months ago, claim that we're unlucky, putting the ball in the back of the net is the hardest thing to do in football, and that we can't lose to a wonder goal each week. Or maybe even further back, It wasn't a Manwell Pablo team out there today, and Manwell Pablo will be doing everything he can on Manwell Pablos training pitch to Manwell Pablos football club going in the right direction.
Floating Fox Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 I'm in - I'll be on the bench for the Under 21's! I'de expect the rest of us lot to be up for it (Filbertway, Potter3, LD3, Ched, JME etc etc)
Lord Nibblington Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 After all this exciting pre match build up, I want in. It seems like a triumph for the ages.

If we are victorious perhaps you could do an O'Neill-esque speech. Tremendous, magnificent..............................

blue blood Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 should we try and raise money for charity (winning teams choice) Through this event? remember over 21's we have experience on our side, the young ones may have energy but they sure cant drop a shoulder like an old pro!! come on the seniors!!!
Milky Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 I'm as honest as the day is long, so you won't see any stray elbows from me.

Alexikokopops Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 I'll be 20 and a half, the senior member of the side. May be a bit on the old side for Thrac <_< I'll be 20 and 10 months, we'll be the level headed seniors of the under 21 side. I'm a goaly but I'm gash and will be very hungover I imagine (it's my almost last exam of University life the night before), so I'll start on the bench.
Alexikokopops Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 So far the under-21s consists of: standupandsing Milky Joe Gist me I think. fook it, I'm done trying to organise stuff.

I reckon this is the member of the opposition side we should be looking to bribe with fags and booze, he's an Over-21 at heart. Age ain't nothing but a number.
Benji Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 ooh, i shall be back and not going on holiday til 12th so could be an idea, u21 left mid
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 What positions are people wanting then? GK Blue Blood CM Apexgeo if he can be ****ed RM Fez ST Finnegan Manwell TPH Ric Singh And possible Nibblington We could do with a defence really.
Daggers Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 In true City fashion ~ I believe that I should be given the run of the midfield as I am a box2box midfield player. The boxes may contain McBurgers these days but I'm not prepared to let stand between me and a lucrative final farewell to my career. I shall be expecting the number 10 shirt, the ball to my feet and everyone to call me 'Guvnor'. If my back/wrist/neck/knee/foot acts up within the first two minutes then I reserve the right to retire to the bar early with the MOTM award. Also, I want no mention made in the media (prior to the game) of my past demonic battles with substances, alcohol and sanity. Signed, The Guvnor.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 ^ reminds me of an interview I read with Neil Lennon once. He said John Robertson used to wander out into the centre circle during training matches, fag in hand, and say "feed the bear". :D

I'm just looking forward to the aftermatch party hosted like the one by MM, Thracian's paying!!!
