City_4_Life Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Thank you for the end of last season, Thank you for the signing of McAuley, Good luck and goodbye.
Magictv Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Thanks for last season rob Goodluck to him with other clubs I say
The Stig Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Thanks Rob for getting us out the shit last year and trying your best with no money or backing this year, GOOD LUCK ROB, to a genuinely nice man who had Leicester at heart and tried his best
holly Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 He tried his best and i`m truly greatful that he did that. I know it needed to be done but i`m actually really quite sad that he is gone him and stowell were always so passionate which was fantastic to see.
Matt Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Good Luck in the future Rob! You were not the man for us, You didn't do a bad job with the useless overpaid, lazy wankers we call "football players" at the club. As I said I don't think you were the right man for us, and your time was up IMO however I blame the players more than you, and the sooner the summer comes and we sack most (Hopefully) of the players the better. I just wish Milan sent a few of the players packing with you just to prove a point to the rest of the players to bear in mind for the summer.

All I can say is I hope ALL the players feel gutted, embaressed, and realise it was them helped get you the sack.

lookwhaticando Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 No point sending players packing just yet... when we could hang on for a few weeks and cash in. Oh ... I see your point.
lookwhaticando Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 On balance I preferred Howard Wilkinson. Take deep breaths while I go call the men in white coats.
He's not bald Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Take deep breaths while I go call the men in white coats. Kept us up last season...big deal anyone probably could have...but have we moved on since?..no..glad to see the back of of him..the numpty should never have been appointed in the first place..maybe Colin Calderwood can offer him a job (every little helps)
BartonFox Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Why would anyone say thank you to Rob Kelly? What the hell has he done to achieve that? Did you not notice the dire form throughout April last season, the shambolic but highly scientific pre-season, the laughable start to the season and the pish poor football ever since. Even the alleged highs against Villa and Fulham were preety poor. The players that kept us up last season should have been thanked not that nugget, their performances through April showed their contempt for him, but oh no (save a merry few who said it was the wrong appointment) welcomed him as manager a position the fool said he didn't want. The man alleged to have a great knowledge of the English game gave us such diamonds as: Hammond McCarthy Low Johnson Welsh Glombard Yeates Tiatto Horsefield Kenton Only Fryatt out of Hume, McAuley and Fryatt has the potential to be a real star in a play-off bound team as well. His tactics were crap, his team selections mind boggling and his ability to fall out with players was remarkable. He was supposed to be a great coach yet not one of our players has progressed or shown a sign of improvement, so it is impossible for him to be a decent coach let alone a great coach as many buffoons on here try to claim. He will not be missed and all I can say is I hope he never gets a job in football again, because he doesn't deserve one.

I really thought you were going to thank him when I saw you'd replied last in this thread.
James. Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 I just wish Barton would speak his f**king mind once in a while. Honestly, enough sitting on that bloody fence.

Strange line that one. It was essentially the same band of players who plunged us to those depths to begin with, was it not? The only changes in personnel was the exit of Dublin and De Vries and the arrival of Welsh (we'll ignore Brevett here). So yeah... it was essentially the same bunch of players who played their part in the dramatic slide as the late dash for survival. You can't really praise the players for survival when they were essentially the problem to begin with. If they were good enough to be thanked for keeping us up... why did they ever get themselves into such a mess to begin with?
Master Fox Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 I think us staying up last season had more to do with Ray Graydon than Rob Kelly. Kelly should have been sacked months ago. I agree with Barton, Kelly has done absolutely **** all. He deserves no thanks whatsoever, not from anyone.....ever

The clown hasnt done anything for us and should have gone months ago.
Guest Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 He's a nice bloke, but nice blokes don't necessarily make good managers.
gosfox Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Yes.... good luck for the future Rob, I think you need to aquire a mean streak to survive in the harsh world of football management, probably a few weeks with Alex "nasty bast*rd but winner" Ferguson as his apprentice might come in handy.... and don't get to matey with the players cos, as you now know, they will shaft you
The Stig Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 I wish the people who didn't like Kelly didn't reply to this thread, the THANK Kelly thread. If (on this thread anyway) you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all.

Bloody right - because he's going to read it and it will really upset him to discover that I think he was pants at managing our football club.
Joe. Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Personally this is my assesment of Rob Kelly. First of all I think sacking him was the right thing to do at this present time. Manadaric had to act and act he certainly did. I think bringing in somebody like Nigel Worthington is also a wise option for the time being. We all know Kelly's team selections were baffling and extremely poor at times and possibly he didn't have the enthusiasm of the players at most times. This he cannot be defended for. There are things though that are out of his hands. He had no money whatsoever to spend which makes life very hard for a Championship manager. It's not easy to find a good quality player who is not wanted by his club and other clubs for little money. In a way I feel sorry for Kelly in this respect. The quality of players he had in this squad was not good at all. I'm not sure how he was supposed to make us into a playoff pushing team to be honest. Right from the start of this season I never expected anything and thought we'd finish mid-lower table. For these points raised I do think he has been harshly treated by fans at times when he has clearly not had the resources he needs to make us into anything we should be. I'd like to thank him for the job he did last season when I thought we looked doomed to relegation and wish him well for the future.
