It was a cracking night. i'd been gutted to've missed the wembely final, but my lcfc job, at the time allowed me two hillsborough tickets. katy and i popped up on the train. i got a rollocking the next day at college cos i rolled in around half one, but, re. formula 1 i'd given up the year before

Finnegan Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 Haha, was sat up at the old Rolls Royce in Rothley with most of the Rothley Imps adult and youth squads. The place went fooking mental, it was great. The Wembley game was my only ever trip to the towers, too.

Whether we think and know the players are a bunch of wankers, our support can make a difference. They don't deserve us, but when has supporting a football club ever been give and take in equal measure. Those fookers can all walk away and join a different club, we are stuck with us because that's who we are. For 90 minutes tonight I think we should be the proudest fans in the country, get behind them and get those 3 points. We can abuse the shambles of our team at length after we have finished this season. But for now, I think we need to stick together. Leeds are sticking together and they've got the their peckers up. Barnsley are fighting for their lives, this is the highest level they are likely to achieve, they are loving it and proud of their team. We need to dig deep and somehow find something to give our players a lift, they don't deserve it but we have to. It is essential we stay up if we are to become a success under Mandaric in the near future. Big night tonight, stick Horsfield in the Pennine Suite.

I can still remember singing on the Supertram, the full 90 minutes, even the journey home, pulling into a service station and everyone still singing. Great days. Let's put one over Birmingham tonight.
davieG Posted 17 April 2007 Posted 17 April 2007 About 15 of when up on the train, I don't think I've ever sung so much for so long in any game, ended up giving my lad (22yrs) a piggy back around the ground to the tram. What a night you could cut the atmosphere with a knife, we all believed and we won through.

Didn't get back till after 1 cos we were stuck in Morrisons car park near the ground for ages with all the traffic, but just made it even better, longer to celebrate. My Mum's a Middlesbrough fan & season ticket holder so it was fun in our house after that.
