This fascination with sticking a bowler in at 3 instantly putting us on the back foot.

They could go with Gumbs in there as he's the extra batter in the squad, but the general selection has been to go with 6 bowling options. Holland or Green have probably said they'll give batting at 3 a go, as it's not a popular position. And they probably think 6 bowlers without Gumbs is a stronger team.

Looks like Hill is just going to play Championship games to finish off his career, though he does not like batting 3 either.  All worked best when Rehan was available and batted 3.

Pitch is taking a bit of spin. If it stays this dry through to September, the spinners are going to have an absolute riot in those last tranche of championship games.

Eskanazi playing himself as if it's a test match, by the look of it! Thought this bloke was meant to meant to be a gun one day and T20 player! Been generally terrible in both for us.

Yep. If we must stick Davey or Scriven in when he is playing or at least someone who  gets on with it. Holland like Eskinazi have one gear

A strike rate of 41.56, and he's faced nearly 13 overs of bowling. All the hallmarks of someone out of form who is playing for himself to get any sort of score.

Commentators keep saying it’s a good batting pitch but it’s been doing bits for both seam and spin?? I think 250+ will be a tough score albeit they’d still be favourites. Hameed is a very good captain, the field placings are spot on.

If we don’t lose another wicket before lunch, he can hopefully kick on in the second session and bat through to the end of the day. 🤪

These will see this off with 10/15 overs spare losing a few wickets.

Eskinazi has played a selfish innings here.

What else is he meant to do when everyone else is throwing their wickets away around him? All he needed is someone to stay with him for a while.

He’s taken 8 overs of the balls he’s faced without scoring. That’s fine in the county champ.

Selfish? If he's have got out early too we would be 100 all out. It's a shocking batting performance and he has scored slowly especially early on, but he has at least prevented it from being a skittling. They will still win with 20 overs left though

He's not had much choice with everyone getting out for nothing. I do agree though he's been a terrible signing. Had a few good knocks in div 2 last season when he first joined but has been beyond awful this season.

Eskinazi will be stranded in the 90s at this rate.

Must be an exceptional bowling pitch or we've been utter muck.

I'd say there's been some terrible batting all round. It does seem pretty odd that one player can get to 90+ and the rest go out with a whimper. It rarely happens, usually you get 2 or 3 picking up decent runs at the very least if 1 player has.

They haven't really constructed an innings. The first 10 overs was disgusting lol

Ben Mike keeps posting the same single bird left on a wire image whenever he is not playing.

Meaning he wants to be free to play elsewhere, but is trapped here?
