Shame he couldn't do both jobs. If the story's accurate we've got no chance of keeping him, but at least he has made us a more attractive option for the next coach than we were 2 years ago, especially as it seems several other counties appear to be struggling more on the financial front.

Disappointed to see a home game end in a draw with no weather involved, we really need to be playing on result pitches between now and the end of the season. We've got some very winnable games between now and the end of the season. WE CAN DO THIS!!!

A draw in the end but we could easily have lost if we'd lost early wickets on the final morning, the new toss rule has made playing on result pitches (green) very precarious.

In fact the players that jumped ship from the last era all seemed to have gone back a bit. Smith, Buck rarely getting match time, Cobb, Thakor playing for the teams that have taken over from us as the whipping boys.

I'd like us to carry on with another Australian coach, maybe try and entice somebody like Justin Langer, ambitious but you never know. Otherwise, give it to Nico!

His conversion rate from 50's to 100's is very good.

The lack of a fast bowler also proving costly as useful as Raine McKay etc are there lack of pace on flat pitches mean that just like the Derby game we will struggle to take 20 wickets just hope Derby can hold out against Essex

We did that and a half, they need another 350 runs to win after tea.

 

In a situation where we need to win to keep promotion hopes alive I'm surprised we didn't force the pace more, last night and this morning.
