One of the best knocks I’ve seen in person. He was creaming everything. Very enjoyable evening. Shame we threw away the Yorkshire and Derbyshire games or we’d be in a strong position

Not sure we threw away the Derby game it was always a 50/50 match

A run chase with 5 wickets left in the shed. You’d back most modern teams to get the job done. If we want to compete we have to execute at the back end in a game like that

We were always slightly  behind the run rate.26  needed  off the last 2 overs 14 off the final over it was always a tight call

We needed 55 off the last 5 with 6 wickets in hand. In modern cricket you should be getting over the line.

Weren't we supposed to get Ajinkya Rahane after the IPL? What's happened with that?

Currently batting in the test final.

With India playing two tests in the West Indies between 12-24 July, Rahane won't be available for two Championship games, (A) Glamorgan 10-13 July and (H) Worcs. 19-22 July.

That's all on the assumption he's still in the test team after his 135 runs against Australia but not picked for the white ball stuff that finishes mid-August.

Handscomb will surely be able to play in those?

Reckon we'll fold like a pack of cards on this kind of pitch.

222-8 and end with 368 all out the bowlers offered no threat whatsoever. Now facing a few very tricky overs, 2 out before close ?

Yet again absolutely diabolical bowling against tailenders.

Ahmed has a lot to learn in red ball cricket. Needs to bowl with more flight and tempt batsmen into shots, rather than just firing it in. Leggies should be skittling the tail, it's one of the key reasons why you play them!

He's been very disappointing with the ball this season, doesn't even look dangerous. Don't know if he has anyone giving him some top quality leg spin coaching, but he could do with some. He has shown he has alot of potential in the past, but having potential and actually being the real deal are two very different things

It's just ill discipline again at heart.

Work hard to get the top order out and then get sloppy and half arsed in the later stages.

Need a new coach and new ethos down there. Nixon should have gone a long time ago.

Patel got out to a very good ball, missed the Budinger wicket

Agreed, Patel looked supreme once again but got a good one. Budinger worked hard, then chased a hideously wide one and was caught behind. I remain of the view he can become next season's Patel. We shall see
