Tomassi Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 they are shite in FA Cup but we are shite at Charltons ground.. classic cup tie ahead!!
foxesfan69 Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 I think we have got a resonable chance of beating them, could have got an easier tie but ah well, this is what the F.A. cup is about, right lads?/and women
Craig Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 Well it's a no lose, win win game. We won't lose any face if we lose, we'll have caused a cup shock if we win, and we can only benefit from playing away from home at a Premiership ground.
Scow Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 I think we have a great chance of getting of the Quarter Finals. Charlton seem to struggle with the tag of being favourites in the cup - The game is there for the taking IMO...
Shauno45 Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 Should be a good match, Di Canio cannot screw us this time!
Collymore Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 Think everyones getting exited and thinking about the win or loss. I think we should hope for a draw and anything more is a bonus.
Katy Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 Think everyones getting exited and thinking about the win or loss. I think we should hope for a draw and anything more is a bonus. 61159[/snapback] Im with you on that one Colly
Guest Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 Ever the eternal optimist (honest!), I think we can win this one.
Ricey Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 It's not an exciting draw but it's a game we have a chance in. Charlton have done well this season and on their day they could thrash us but who knows, we could spring a shock.
Mark Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 Charlton couldn't thrash us, they're a very average team of players with no standout players at all but work well together. I couldn't even name their best player. They bore me to death when they're on Sky <_<

They are 7th in the Premiership for christs sake, we are 14th in the Championship.

Kiely i admit though, good keeper.

Anish Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 Yes they are an average set of players, but they work extraordinarily well as a team. They are like how we used to be under MON. I am not particularly confident with this tie at all - yes Charlton have a poor record in the FA Cup but they will see this game as a perfect chance to progress further than they ever have done before. The best I can see is a draw.
Oli Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 We have a chance if Charlotn have a bad day. They only beat Yeovil 3-2. Come On Boys!!!
Guest Daniel Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 We could beat them, there nothing amazing and didnt excatly cruise past Yeovil.
Durnerz Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 Matt Holland is quality, however I feel this is a tie we can win, given the way we conducted ourselves away at Reading,a tough place to go, anything is possible in the FA cup.
Matt Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 I'm not sure, I think we can beat them! To be honest looking at the table Charlton are a good side but i'm with Petrescue the bore me and I don't like Charlton at all...C'MON LEICESTER.... Not 100% sure on prediction, need more time but a prediction of the top of my head at this current time...2-0 City!

Alan Curbishley has done wonders there, and it's only a matter of time before his summer signings will gel into the team. Being a Dane it's frustrating to see Dennis strugling there, 'cause he was nothing short of fantastic at PSV. Having said that, being a cup tie everything can happen. We'll need a bit of luck but I'm optimistic we'll at least get a replay
Teeno Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 We can beat them, but we have to be really up for it. Last time I went there it was an amzing trip, I loved it. We were relegated but we had a field day, amazing support and a shitty old stand which generates a great atmosphere. I can't wait.
MADLEVEIN Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 didnt we knock charlton out the wotho cup at the valley a few years ago ?
BartonFox Posted 31 January 2005 Posted 31 January 2005 A very winnable tie that is for sure and of the EPL teams that remain certainly the one I would have liked to face. Glad we avoided the remaining CCC teams. If 4,000 people go to Reading then certainly the same if not more will go to The Valley. That stand is tremendous for atmosphere, infact that is all it is good for <_< so the players will have no fears. They might be 7th in the EPL but our squad is good enough to compete against them and I fully expect us to get a result. Charlton are wobbly in Cup competitions especially at home and they will be under massive pressure. We wont and will be a few points closer to the play-offs with brimming confidence.
