Chairman of the Bored Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 Does anyone follow the fortunes of a team outside of England or even travel abroad to watch them play? I have been going over to Sweden the past 6 six years and have dropped in to watch Helsingborgs IF several times. The Swedish season is during the summer so it rarely clashes with City's games.

The Swedish season is during the summer so it rarely clashes with City's games. I have several teams I like to watch play and have been to a few European grounds, wouldn't go to the same one twice though unless Leicester ever get back into Europe and were playing at a ground I've already been to.
Master Fox Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 Omonia Nicosia. I've been to quite a few of their games. I travelled to an away game in Limassol few years back now, and witnessed some of the most extreme football violence. It was unbelievable. The cup final of 1998 was pretty intense. But their support is ****ing crazy, it's great to experience though. Some on the chants are brilliant.
Koke Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 Juventus Been to Italy couple of times, but sadly never to Turin. Also, used to live in Denmark for donkeys of years. Used to go to some Aarhus GF games (one of the most successfull clubs in Denmark) but now they have dropped down a division.
Finnegan Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 Pretty much what Manwell said, really. There's a team or two in most leagues I like to watch play. Thanks to Sky Sports that's all the more possible, loving Valencia at the moment - but that's mainly because of Villa and Silva. fooking brilliant players. Wouldn't go so far as to call myself a fan, though.

Turins a cold, mountinus, industrial city and really isn't as exciting as Milan or Rome, but it is different I have to say, definately worth a one off visit.

It wasn't that cold when I went. Agreed though, it's nothing much like Milan, but it's worth a visit. Always a soft spot for AC Step away from your car's Cigarette lighter... dirty boy.
Guest Gist Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 I wouldn't say I support an overseas team, there are just teams I like to watch if they are on TV and I have the chance.
Daggers Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 I don't believe you can "support" an overseas team. You may be interested in the results, you may watch them on television - but that hardly constitutes "supporting them". Oh, and E3 makes the most noise. Both of these facts are facts. Fact.
Stevosevic Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 Ajax - i visit Amsterdam regularly and see them play. All started from playing football abroad annually since the age of 11 i suppose, happy days.
lildave3 Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 I can't say i really follow overseas football much tbh.

Floating Fox Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 Oh I'm also supporting Milan tonight for the first time
Simi Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 I don't really look out for a specific overseas team to be honest. Always like to check the tables to see whos where but that's about it.
Simon Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 Armenia Bielefeld. Mum was born not far away and parents met and then lived there.
Daggers Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 That's why I said "follow the fortunes" of.... I put one of these :- in my reply. Maybe I should just change my sig to say "DON'T TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!"?
Stevosevic Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 Oh I'm also supporting Milan tonight for the first time against an English team? i would love to see an all english final and always support the english sides in european competition.
