Leicester Lass Posted 31 May 2007 Posted 31 May 2007 I've heard Lewis Gobern could be on his way from Wolves
Mort Posted 31 May 2007 Posted 31 May 2007 I've heard Lewis Gobern could be on his way from Wolves Could be useful... admitedly that purley from a shot look at his stats
Father Ted Posted 1 June 2007 Posted 1 June 2007 are we interested? great player, but would he even consider our league and us for that matter..... discusss...........Celtic have told striker Craig Beattie he can leave as they edge towards a deal with Hibernian's Chris Killen. (Daily Record) Ever heard of Rab Douglas, Scotland's no1 or Stephen Hughes, Scotland's best next thing?
loverofinsanefox Posted 1 June 2007 Posted 1 June 2007 I'll stick it in here, because this rumour is purely word of mouth, so starting a thread would be pointless. However speaking to Matt Jarvis' (Gillingham winger) best mate last night, sounds like he could well be on his way. Obviously this sounds like any other "I heard from his best mate, brother etc" to most people, but I guess there should be some foundation to rumour considering I know this guy would chat to Matt about stuff like this. Been said before, would be a decent addition, hope it happens so I can try and get some free tickets!

Don't think it's sealed yet as Forest were sniffing too....
The People's Hero Posted 1 June 2007 Posted 1 June 2007 Also - I should clarify 2 further things here. 1) He won't be at the Gills next year. 2) As I understand it, contact has been made with the player in question. But that was pre-Allen's appointment.
loverofinsanefox Posted 1 June 2007 Posted 1 June 2007 I see, well obviously I have no idea of Allens particular opinion towards him, but you'd imagine with his lower league experience hes more than aware about him. Aren't you from round that neck of the woods (i.e Kent). If so does that mean u've seen the Gills? How do you know we've been in touch mate?
Mort Posted 1 June 2007 Posted 1 June 2007 Be very happy to see Jarvis pitch up at city some time over the next few weeks
The Reverend Posted 1 June 2007 Posted 1 June 2007 Jarvis sounds a good prospect. I know a Gills fan and he says he'd be worth going for.

craigymc8 Posted 3 June 2007 Posted 3 June 2007 hi everyone im new and just want to share my views on who we should sign. i really like the idea of claus jensen coming here but really cant see it tbh. Billy sharp sounds a good player but i believe that the pricetag on his head seems too much. i think it could be a big waste of money because i think if we play good football, hume and fryatt can score alot of goals in this division so i think we should give them both a chance to play good football as opposed to the long ball rubbish we had last year which doesnt suit either of them. if we signed sharp he may score goals which hume or fryatt could have scored instead, if we had given them a chance with good supply to them, so it is a waste of £2m (ish) which could have been spent on players who could bring something different to the squad ( a quality attacking midfielder eg: jensen, hendrie,) instead of something we do have (small strikers that can score goals with good servive)
milan_foxes Posted 4 June 2007 Posted 4 June 2007 Quote/Link/Source or just rumour/hearsay? I'm trying to find the link can't find it!
Jambojockfox Posted 5 June 2007 Posted 5 June 2007 Most of Mort's ideas seem pretty logical to be honest. If any of those actually occur I'll be really pleased. Ian Walker returning would be great too, our keepers havn't been the best ever.Vincent Enyeama from South Africa would do wonders, if his FM'07 stats are anything to go by. >_> Not Wlker surely. Made too many mistakes & was a HUGE contributer to our demise from the premiership !
HankMarvin Posted 5 June 2007 Posted 5 June 2007 Cureton: Is too ambitious for Us The 31-year-old joined the Us from Swindon last summer after spending a loan spell with the Layer Road club during the 2005-06 season. The former QPR, Reading and Bristol Rovers player had a highly-successful campaign, scoring 23 league goals as Colchester exceeded expectations to finish in 10th after challenging for the play-offs. However, Cureton explained his decision to hand in a transfer request by claiming the club are not ambitious enough. He said: "Having thought very carefully over my future, I have decided to ask for a transfer away from Colchester United. "Talks over a new contract broke down several weeks ago and the club's failure to re-sign several key players has convinced me to make this decision. "I remain very ambitious in my football career and it is clear to me that my ambitions are not matched by the club and I hope that they respect my decision and allow me to move on." i feel he would be a good addition
Leicfox Posted 5 June 2007 Posted 5 June 2007 wes hoolahan, after what i saw on sunday Signed for Blackpool.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 June 2007 Posted 5 June 2007 If we need a striker or two that we can bring in on the cheap, I suggest: Blaise N'Kufo Or Taylor Troger (Fantastic scoring record in MLS) N'Kufo is in his thirties, but has a natural goalscoring instinct, whereas the other one is a Yank and can be bought at bargain prices, but they are both half-decent, and I think that they could do a job in this division.
Ric Flair Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 I've been thinking. I have a feeling Birmingham will be coming in for Kisnorbo this summer. I for one would be going all out for a Jerome and Danns swap for Kisnorbo. Both of them don't have a future at Birmingham, but elsewhere I think they could re-ignite their careers. Get it done.
