Lineker's Left Foot Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 Would not want JG back. We can go for much better now and I'm never one to generally think that players who come back to their former clubs tend to produce the same form.
The Reverend Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 No, no no!!! He's average to poor. We need massivley better players if we wanna get out of this league!
Daggers Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 Sorry but JG is better than Hughes and Jarrett so I would sign him. If that's the yard-stick that new acquisitions are going to be measured by then I'm grabbing my boots and a pot of dubbin
Poakey Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 If that's the yard-stick that new acquisitions are going to be measured by then I'm grabbing my boots and a pot of dubbin err, where would we be without joey the season before last?i know where.
Finnegan Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 err, where would we be without joey the season before last?i know where. So? As someone else has pointed out elsewhere, where would we be without Elvis' six or so goals this year? Or Nils' winner t'other week? Doesn't make a player good enough to be in a side that's pushing for promotion. You forget this is about the joint worst City side... ever.
Raj Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 To make MM feel more at home i'd ship all these boys in----Vladimir StojkoviÄc,Ivan ErgiÄc,Ivica DragutinoviÄc,Igor Duljaj,Nemanja VidiÄc,Ognjen Koroman,Danko LazoviÄc,Marko PanteliÄc,Dejan StankoviÄc (Captain),Ducko TociÄc,Mladen KrstajiÄc
sotonfox Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 As we approach what should be the most exciting summer I can remember as a city fan, I am starting to feel a bit nervous. I do hope that MM and MA are not thinking on the same level as some of those posting on this and other similar threads. Agreed, we are not going to be signing Rooney Drogba et al, but please show some ambition. The last time we had a few quid I remember signing a certain striker with an awesome goalscoring record in the lower leagues!!!!! We are looking to compete - NOW - some of the lower league players being mentioned might be good investments for the future, but we need proven quality. We are the premiership youth champions, the future looks bright already. And why oh why are we aspiring to players that are being rejected by other championship clubs. IMO only a handful of the names that have featured are in the right ballpark Todorov Hendrie Stefanovic Murphy Xavier Bowyer From where we are at the moment, just aspiringto "better than we have" could still only raise us to the dizzy heights of mediocrity. I don't think MM deals in mediocrity!!
Dames Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Manchester United are keen on Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o and are ready to bid £25 for the striker. (Mail on Sunday) Surely we now have the financial muscle to outbid them
DB11 Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 He looks a bloody good left back on TV, and we need a left back. What do you think about him? I think Leicester should sign him
C-man Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 On Robbie Williams: He looks a bloody good left back on TV, and we need a left back. What do you think about him? I think Leicester should sign him Yeah and lets sign Michael Jackson too, to add to Elvis. We'd be shite at football but we'd be the most entertaining team in the division.
Simi Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Well I think Williams looks a good left back. He's already been in our academy.
C-man Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Well I think Williams looks a good left back. Sorry boss. Joe Mattock's more talented.
lildave3 Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Well I think Williams looks a good left back. Is this because he's scored a goal today?
Leicfox Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 He's already been in our academy. Has he ? i thought he came up through the ranks at The Tykes ? Stll he's got a decent scoring record for a left back since he's be on loan at BFC, 5 goals in 13 games (i think).
XFS Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Did anyone see the Scottish Cup Final yesterday. There was a young lad (19) running rings around Celtic for Dunfermline and even chipped the ball over Lennons head before running round and passing it on. Looked a class act and turns out is on loan from Liverpool - Adam Hammill. Different class to Porter/Newton and anything we have. Get him in Martin.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 I'm not sure that Robbie Williams is the same one that we had. I think our one ended up way down the leagues.

Have heard of Hammill before... if he' plays on the right then he could be handy, though i'm not sure what his time at Dunfermline has been like over the longer term, though i seem to remember a few championship clubs being keen to bring him in on loan and i think he was a player Liverpool wanted to hang onto.
