Jukes Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 New on the forum and would have to call myself a distant City fan as an old friend of Mike Whitlow I used to follow a lot of games but don't really get the chance these days but managed to get to the Accrington game, the reason for posting was I was really impressed with the young winger they brought on in the second half I think his name was Whalley reading their forum. I would have thought he would be pretty cheap and an area we did seem to be pretty weak.

Let me see, aging but skillful foreign player who has suffered from some serious injuries in his career. I think he would have been perfect for the Pompey promotion team when MM was in charge and arguably the type of player we may have thought would be targeted in pre-season (add Trev Sinclair, JFH, Fowler, Andy Cole and the rest ) but MA seems to sidestep these types of players as he wants workers and not wige waged so called ex-superstars.

Lineker's Left Foot Posted 24 August 2007 Posted 24 August 2007 With Milan Mandaric's Serb connections, it could be a 'cheeky' Dejan Stankovic bid eventually?? but if we're thinking about any old Yugoslav connections, I get this horrible feeling we're going to bid for Portsmouth's forgotten Croatian striker Ivica Mornar - that is if he's still at Pompey. Mind you, unlike most of our strikers, at least he can score at The Walkers as he did in a Croatia 3-1 defeat to England awhile back.
