reynard Posted 20 March 2008 Posted 20 March 2008 Because I've too much time at the moment I thought it would be interesting to go back and see who were the most popular "wish list" players pre season and would they have made much difference?? At a rough estimate the following players were the most "wanted" by fans on this thread. Todorov and Danny Murphy both had 20 different admirers. Billy sharp 18 Dejav Stefanovic and Lee Hendrie 17 a piece The 2 most popular keepers were Richard Wright and Lee Camp with about 12-15 each. 10 people wanted Chris Commons. In high single figures were Shaun Newton 9 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! freddy Eastwood 9 all on 7 David Healey Trevor Sinclair and Billy Jones. on 6 Claus jensen and wes Hoolahan. Of those we actually signed (except Newton) Stephen Clemence was the most popular with just 4 in favour. Interesting to note that of all the others most got 0 backers at all except the following who all garnered 1 vote Kishishev, N'gotty, Dj,and amazingly Carl Cort. Also interestingly 1 astute person said Steve Howard "if Derby go up"! Of those players who may actually have improved matters but were only identified by 1 or 2 fans there are Bryan Hughes (now at Hull!) 2 people. james beattie 2 people 15 goals this season. scott snclair 3 cameron jerome 2 Despite our crap season it is still good to note we had at least one lucky escape with 2 of us on here wanting John Hartson! the question is though would we be in a better position with these players than the ones we currently have?

Great research! Stefanovic would have been a great signing but may not have been needed. Who knows where we would be if we had Hendrie all season! Wes Hoolahan may have been the answer to our winger problems. Billy Jones may have been a good squad player and for the future. And that's it really.
Father Ted Posted 22 March 2008 Posted 22 March 2008 We need a manager who is good tactically, has a brain, isn't cocky and doesn't always makes excuses. We also need another striker who actually scores and isn't afraid to shoot.

dandannieldanok Posted 25 March 2008 Author Posted 25 March 2008 Hal Robson-Kanu Cameron Jerome Kris Commons Jamie Ashdown Kevin Lisbie
dandannieldanok Posted 25 March 2008 Author Posted 25 March 2008 David Zdrilic? He's old and has scored just 13 goals in the last 8 years.
Asha Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 He's old and has scored just 13 goals in the last 8 years. He was good on Total Club Manager 03...
maddog Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Gareth Williams. He was a good player for us, he isn't playing for Watford. He would be relatively cheap to sign. He's not getting in Watford's team now so certainly won't if they go up. Could he solve or crisis
Asha Posted 25 March 2008 Posted 25 March 2008 Besian Idrizaj, that former Liverpool youngster. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Besian_Idrizaj

He's not getting in Watford's team now so certainly won't if they go up. Could he solve or crisis I believe he'd be great for us and I think he's the best footballer we've had since Izzet. So yes from me, although 90% of people will say; "no, lazy cnut blah blah"
Micky Ruddle Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Extra-time and penalties in FT Match. Whether or not the game is won by one team or the other.
potter3 Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 I can't believe Bogdan Stancu hasn't been mentioned in this thread
