Daggers Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 Now age is no longer a barrier - I'm getting my boots out of the cupboard and updating my CV. *licks pencil* Dear Milan, I have always wanted to be a professional footba.....
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 LEE HENDRIE Aston Villa 18 /05/1977 Birmingham 5'10" Midfielder Ugly-o-meter http://www.uglyfootballers.com/genpage.asp?DocumentID=61 He's like a mini-me for Peter Crouch!!!
Daggers Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 He's like a mini-me for Peter Crouch!!! Is that Jamie in your sig?
The Reverend Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 Hmmm its all gone rather quiet. I just hope the deals are still happening. Cos they are 3 good players (especially Hendrie).
mat_j101 Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 I dunno. Ive just got in and seen all this madness happening! Hendrie i think would be a decent signing, but De Zeeuw is 36 - thats pushing it a bit. Id rather sign some players who will hopefully be at the club for some time to come. N'Gotty is 36 too i think. Im not sure. I am happy we are getting some players in, but wonder whether those too are a bit old, thats all
Joe. Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 I know they're only rumours at this stage but I'm quite excited at the prospect of signing any of these three players. They seem a bit more than just a rumour to me...
Mark Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 I hope the rumour about this Marveaux guy is true and we're not signing both De Zeeuw and N'Gotty. If Kisnorbo ends up leaving we'll be left with possibly the 3 slowest center backs in the league, and thats no way to start the season. We can't kick off in August with such obvious faults, again.

Elliott and Taggart were 2 of the slowest, we got promoted with one if not the best defensive record in the league
Tevez Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 Would it be possible for some information on this french guy?
Ric Flair Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 Would it be possible for some information on this french guy? He's 20/21, left winger, very talented, but has a bad attitude. Scored 5 goals in 8 starts and 13 sub appreances this season in France's top league.

Brainy Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 I didn't actually think it was a rumour, just a recommendation

Maybes Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 Lee hendrie would be a quality signing. He is just different class in this league as he proved at stoke on loan.
Head Honcho Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 On another site they reakon its N'Gotty and a young French lad called Marveaux. Dare I ask? "football rumours"
Head Honcho Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 Lee hendrie would be a quality signing. He is just different class in this league as he proved at stoke on loan. You have to ask why MON would let him go if he was that good! I hope we don't spend too much on him.
Head Honcho Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 You have to ask why MON would let him go if he was that good!I hope we don't spend too much on him. ............and the last thing we need is a twat of the highest order no matter how "good" he is!
Mort Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 I hope we don't spend too much on him. I belive the fee is meant to be nominal for what ever club is interested in signing him, at least that was the impression i got a little while back, his wages wont be small though! Still look at how well he did with Stoke, a strong manager can only help and Allen's past record suggests he's a "strong manager" and thats another thing we have lacked in recent years.
Simon Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 Dare I ask? "football rumours" I read it on talking balls yesterday. I think the three signings are all worthwhile ones of we get them. I'd be pretty excited if Hendrie signed- he can definitely play a bit and is versatile. De Zeeuw will make an excellent captain- and a decent teacher for people like Kisnorbo, McAuley and McCarthy. Why anyone thinks De Zeeuw would be any better with McAuley than Kisnorbo I'm not sure- they're both the same type of defender and that was the problem this season. Lets face it McCarthy didn't turn into a complete bombscare overnight- perhaps De Zeeuw can help turn him round. I'm sure De Zeeuw would do well with Kisnorbo if we have speedy full-backs like Stearman and Mattock. N'Gotty would be a useful utility player- he can play right-back and centre-back and I'm sure I've seen him play centre-mid too. As long as we don't buy a team full of them, these experienced players certainly have a place in our squad.

Hadnt really thought of it from the point of view of De Zeeuw helping Kisnorbo et al develop. I guess from that perspective he would be a good signing to help develop the players for the future.
lookwhaticando Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 Offer ADZ a coaching role too, if we're looking for defensive help. At least then he'll still be of some service if (when) he does himself another injury.

City Fan Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 At the end of the day, the only way we will get out of this division with young players is if we had absolutely millions to spend. We don't, so get over it.
