new shirt

Let's make a petition then, I don't see many people doing anything about it. We're the fans, let us start something.

Someone create a really important sounding opening statement and we can email all the applicants names to the board or whatever.

Better than nothing.

It's not that bad! lol

Before the two years is up? :P

As long as the printings are still ON the shirt and the colour remains the same after a few cycles in the machine, I don't mind buying one!

Still waiting for the final, corrected version.

lets all rebel, no-one renew their ST until the kit is changed  its a kit ffs. as JBF9 stated earlier about southend and their flashy nike kit I'm sure they'd care more about staying in the Championship than their kit.

I'd much rather have a Jako kit which may not win any style awards, and finish in a decent position in and around the play-offs maybe even higher, as opposed to having players poncing around on a catwalk in nike or Adidas and achieve the mid-table mediocricy and relegation battles we've had to face in the last few seasons.

It's disgusting. Like others have said, it's tacky and looks like a kit that a Conference team would play in.

The only reason I'm likely to buy it is because it's a 2 year cycle and I'll only ever wear it at matches. Otherwise it's horrible.

Yep. If it were one year there'd be no bloody way.

I really liked this season's kit, the pin stripes did it for me

This looks like a blue shirt with some pictures glued on.

Who really pays attention to anyone's kit, at the end of the day? When I'm watching a game, I don't sit there thinking "oh my god, they wear that!!" whilst laughing manically at some other team's supposed misfortune. To be honest, I couldn't give a crap about any other team's kit, why would they give a toss about ours? And if they have nothing better to worry about, then it's their tough luck.

Cue;

They sing - You're winning but your kit is shite - bovered :dunno:

We sing - We're losing but our kit is topps - bovered :banghead:

Didn't they say last year's was just a prototype to begin with when it was first shown but nothing actually was altered, even after mass uproar regarding pin stripes and shiny sponsorship? People who say we'll be a laughing stock in it make me laugh. I'd rather have the cheapest, most tacky shirt in the world but have a decent team wearing it. Where did Southend finish last season in their nike manufactured kit? I think they'd rather have finished top half in a Jako shirt than bottom three in a nike one. Save Milan's money for players, not kit manufacturers. The shirt we had when we last got promoted was made of cheap material and weren't that nice but loadsa people bought them when they saw a promotion winning side playing in it.

Best post so far. New kit designs are always controversial, as are the sponsors and the manufacturers. At the end of the day it's the players on the pitch that matter. I'm sure we will all be proud to wear the new shirt for the new era dispite the fact that there may be some part of the overall design we are not totally happy with. Me personally....I'm not keen on the round badge in the shield....it should, imho, be one or the other.

The things that are wrong with it:

- The blue is not right. For me that's inexcusable, a team's colour is very important and let's face it, it takes no extra effort or cost to get the colour right.

- It's unbalanced. Most of it is very plain, too plain I'd say, but then there's the garish logo slapped in the middle of it, yellow and clashing horribly with the rest of it.

- The shield around the badge looks ridiculous, it means you can't see our badge and enhances the fact that the shirt looks like a stock shirt with a badge and a logo glued on.

For me, remedy those things and maybe add a little extra detailing in white, like near the shoulders, at the bottom, and it's a shirt worth buying. For all I despise the shirt as it looks there, I see potential.

My first impressions of the new shirt was that it looked like Portsmouth's kit.

The blue is too light for us. I prefer the slightly darker blue that we've had for years.

The sponsor did make me laugh at first as I thought Topps were just a local firm but looking on their website I was mistaken. So their logo looks a bit crap, it's what they're paying that's important.

The badge... so close. I think we're about due a badge change seeing as we've entered this new era. We changed it when Fox Leisure was born during the Brian Little days and we had plenty of success with the badge but we're being re-branded with the new owner and new manager. I would prefer a return to a shield badge like the older ones but this looks like a half-arsed effort at it. Hopefully, they hadn't finalised the badge and this really is a 'prototype'.

The shirt manufacturer 'Jako' is also a producer of Portsmouth's kit and sunday league kit so no real status there either, Having said that, they're cheaper I'd imagine. Kit manufacturers are only for bragging rights anyway so we'll get used to it, I'm sure.... remember Bukta?

As others have said, it's performances that count rather than looking great anyway.

It's a time to be positive about the club's ambitions

I don't really care about the shirt, I've still got my "Coca Cola Cup Winners 1997" styley. I do mind though, about how the blue is too light and looks more Ipswich than Leicester.

Don't worry lads.

I've just been imformed by Ben Swift the retail manager the the final shirt will be darker, a more Leicester Blue.

I think the shirt will be fine personallyonce the colour has been sorted out which Ricey says is going to be done.

A lot of people will change their opinions of it once the proper version's come out I think.

At the end of the day, i'm a mug so i'll still buy it whatever it looks like <_<

Personally, I like the shirts from the past three seasons. JJB did a good job of the designs. I was shocked to see how rubbish it looks. Whats the point of the crest in the shield. Personally if i had a say in the sponsors. Id try and get puma to provide the kit and training wear and get a reasonable leicester company or nationwide company to come in.

I know we've got Jako, but it could be worst.

AND FINALLY

Watford have secured a new sponsorship deal. They will bear the brand name Beko on their shirts instead of the names of their Turkish parent companies - Arcelik and Koc Holding. (Mirror)
