RedOnRed Posted 30 June 2007 Posted 30 June 2007 One minute you’re saying he’s sh*t, then the next minute you’re tickling his bottom with a feather duster! Make your mind up. L'ol. When did I say he was shit though? He's been good for us and is only 22 and with some more advanced coaching could turn into something really special. TBH, I am in two minds a bit. I'm not overly convinced he could do the business for you but then he could also well be an amazing player for you...who knows? But then that's the gamble you take with most signings. However, I have first hand experience of watching him play on many occasion, unlike some people that are writing him off without ever having seen him play. i dont think ANY of us have seen him play many times in the championship.knowing mandaric he will probably say somthing like " i'll give you 1.3 for mcleod if you chuck in platt as well". i dont think he will ever be a regular at leicester, but, i think i posted before, i like the idea of him coming off the bench for the last 20 mins, or the odd game here and there to help others recover from injury... like cort. You know he's never played in the Championship. As for Platt...you better hurry - it looks like he's on his way to Colchester for a rumoured £300,000 and he hasn't resumed training with the rest of the squad. McLeod was at the first training session yesterday.

L'ol, have you been on the sauce or what? How did you get onto completely quoting me out of context about Platt then? When we were talking about McLeod? If we're talking about Platt, then no, i've never been that much of a fan of him and hell yeah he'd be out of his depth in the Championship. He's 29 and just had his best season knocking in 18 for us. Prior to that he's been lucky to get into double figures.

Mort Posted 1 July 2007 Posted 1 July 2007 Quite an interesting article here about McLeod. Ok... now I'm really starting to think your his agent! As for the story its recycled news thats already been cycled though ... it's not going to happen (at least not at a stupidly inflated price)!

As for the story its recycled news thats already been cycled though ... it's not going to happen (at least not at a stupidly inflated price)! I only wish I were his agent... and if I were do you really think i'd be on here exposing all the nuts and bolts of a potential deal and risking it going under?
MPH Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 Quite an interesting article here about McLeod. so really if the rams bid 2m for him, the Dons would have to give them 600k back.
RedOnRed Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 so really if the rams bid 2m for him, the Dons would have to give them 600k back. Yes really and what's so funny? I think you'll find that there's a multitude of young players on the same sort of contract. Perhaps even some players at Leicester...that's if you've got any young and promising players? The reality is that he would just be sold for £1.4 million to Derby.

Under 18 Premiership Champions 2007, not saying they are world beaters but some of them must be half decent.
RedOnRed Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 Under 18 Premiership Champions 2007, not saying they are world beaters but some of them must be half decent. Sounds like it might be worth investing a bit of time and money on them.
Geo V Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 I cant see McLeod and Job signing for us so I reckon this Izale deal wont happen at all. I reckon Naaaaarwich will get him instead as Earnies replacement as they have failed in bids for about 5 strikers so far.

Geo V Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 They've signed Cureton. Yeah I saw that but they need more strikers and have apparently spoken to Sharp and Eastwood and are linked to some Dutch u-21 player who is now linked to Celtic.

Perhaps even some players at Leicester...that's if you've got any young and promising players? The reality is that he would just be sold for £1.4 million to Derby. but if they sold him for 1.4 then they would have to give 30% of that back.....
RedOnRed Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 but if they sold him for 1.4 then they would have to give 30% of that back..... No, the idea is that if they sold him to Derby for £1.4 million then they would actually be selling him for £2 million as the 30% equating to £600,000 would effectively be written off. That's instead of £1.4 million and then 30% off making it £980,000.

RedOnRed Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 so if they sold him for 980,000 that would make it 686,000... Well yeah, I suppose so...but why stop there? How about if they sold him for £100,000 that would mean we'd get £70,000?
potter3 Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Well yeah, I suppose so...but why stop there? How about if they sold him for £100,000 that would mean we'd get £70,000? Or sell him for 10p and you get 7p :whitle:
MPH Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Well yeah, I suppose so...but why stop there? How about if they sold him for £100,000 that would mean we'd get £70,000? just out of interest, what formation did MM play at the dons
RedOnRed Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 just out of interest, what formation did MM play at the dons Always 4-4-2, long ball, up in the air stuff. The style of play was a shame as we had players good enough to pass. By the way, you did really mean MA didn't you?
MPH Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 just when we thought the story had died... todays bbc gossip colum quotes the mirror as saying... MK Dons boss Paul Ince has begged striker Izale McLeod not to quit the League Two club. Leicester want him for £800,000. (Daily Mirror)

Leicester want him for £800,000. (Daily Mirror) I can't imagine him begging as well and he won't be going for £800,000 either. If he does stay, and sorts out his temperament a bit, no doubt we'll probably get 30 something goals out of him next season, while you lot will be left wondering what you could have had after you chose to play safe with some forward that's been round the block a bit and is more interested in accruing signing on fees and getting a few goals here and there.
