act smiley Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 The hype surrounding him since he was 12 has been unreal though. To be known virtually worldwide at such a young age and to have that much pressure to perform is crazy. The thing is, it went to his head pretty quickly and he's not improved much, got transferred to a pathetically bad team and isn't that great for them. Definitely overrated, but simply because people's sights were set too high, rather than him being crap and hiding that by being in a good team. I'm waiting for someone to come on and say Rooney or Gerrard like the last thread we had on this matter. What's the issue with that? overrated is overrated, even if its just the difference between very good and world class. Robinson and Jenas are utter cack, but often seem to get away with it. I don't really rate Anton Ferdinand that much, to be honest.
Zingari Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 george best , nowhere near as good as his hype and judged far more on what he "may" have done
Daggers Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Iain Hume - and he's crap at spelling...it's IAN for ****s sake!
The People's Hero Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Michael Ballack. Hmmm, not set the premiership alight but think that is harsh to be honest. Been absolutely superb on the International stage for years and years now. Still, each to their own.
davieG Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 LCFC teams for that last few years, they were playing in the Championship FFS and should have been in Leagues 1, 2 or Scotland
The Reverend Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Hmmm, not set the premiership alight but think that is harsh to be honest. Been absolutely superb on the International stage for years and years now.Still, each to their own. Too right. I hate it when people slag off Ballack. He's a world class player for club and country. 35 international goals in 77 appearances says it all - nearly 1 goal in 2 for a midfielder is phenomenal. Whoever slags him of is clearly talking Ballacks
Stevosevic Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Dyer & Downing. I personally think Dyer is under-rated, agree about Downing though.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Ronnie Rosenthal Geoff Thomas Titus Bramble Elvis Hammond
David Villa Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 There is to many players in England that are over rated. Just to name a few: Bale, Downing, Dyer, P.Neville and Jagielka
The People's Hero Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Jean Alain Boumsong. Although to be fair, I think he might have been found out now. Dirk Kuyt. That VERY quick Danish winger at Charlton with zero end product.
Phube Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Anyone playing for Arsenal FC, Arsenal Youth, Arsenal Ladies!!
Dames Posted 18 June 2007 Posted 18 June 2007 Jean Alain Boumsong.Although to be fair, I think he might have been found out now. Still manages to play for Juve though.
