The War on Idiots

I don't care if they're 12. From now on, no more Mr Nice Guy.

Who's with me?

I'm a partial idiot myself. That's what I'm trained to.

DavieG said something to me a couple of days ago that actually hit a note. He sort of had a point, as much as I'm tired of the stupidity as much as the next person, I think a fair few people on here (myself included, I suppose) do seem to forget what it was like being 13. I remember back to joining the SiGames forums when I was about 14 and I was just such a fooking retard.

The a-foxes, Marthass, Thracians and scotty2hottys of this board should have been shot / banned long ago, but warring on every new user who can't quite type straight or doesn't quite understand the way the board works yet seems a little too hostile for a public forum. I'm not looking to be a boring fuddy-duddy and I can assure you I'd probably have the same opinion even if I didn't have to edit / delete / lock the mess, but a little less "pwn"ing and a little more educating would probably go a long way.

I say something like Manwell's post of the week should be set up, except for people who come out with utterly retarded shit.

The 'winner' gets banned.

Alternatively create a banishment forum. Call it 'Concentration Camp' or something.

Or create a secret forum for the Foxestalk illuminati. Unless there already is one and I haven't been invited. Mysterious.

From reading a current thread, they're really has got to be some idiots around this board. If they are Adults i really thought they would of matured abit right now on a serious matter. At 16 years old it has really pissed me off and unfair for silly, useless and immature comments. Some people need to sort themselves out, becuase at this very moment, they are a complete ****.

Sorry About the Language.

It think you need idiots.

Not just on THIS forum but in life in general.

This way the 'normal' people can gauge their own posts, hence realising that THEY too are not idiots!!!

If you get what im saying!!! :dunno:

(P.S...im not one of them Fcukwits am i???..... )

I am in, if the wankers show willingness to chance their idiocy then they will get a second chance. Blow it after that then they get hung drawn and quartered.

peoples inability to rise above things (and like finnegan said (almost)) let kids be kids, worries me more than a few kids messing around.

A sensible well balanced post. :D:D:D:thumbup:;)

Either rise above it or stick them on ignore, it's not difficult. Who's supposed to be the adult here when some of the so-called 'grown ups' of the board act just as childish as the actual 'kids'

With two kids myself I am used to stupidity. Don't let them get to you. We dont want FT turning into an elite forum for 20, 30, 40, 50somethings.

Let them be. They will learn the ways of the force.

It's no fun either.

Shootings at dawn, they're fun.

(Please, no Dawn Swan from East Enders & spunk jokes)

Why does it always have to come down to this "elite" bollocks? People spraying that around are no better than I am for getting annoyed at all the shite posted on here lately.

The point I was trying to make was that the site is for everyone.

You're right. In fact why has anyone ever been banned? They should all be unbanned immediately, I say!

I agree.

I suppose the only thing that pisses me off is bad topics in the LCFC and Transfer Talk forums. I think, if this is possible, people should have to be a member for a month or so first. Just got a bit hacked off last night and didn't bother to put that in my post (bad topic I suppose :D). I understand that they're all just LCFC fans who are excited about the new season but if this sort of restriction was in place then it would make mods' lives easier. However, two mods have already said they don't mind it.

Don't get me wrong, it's annoying. But the innocently inexperienced are far less annoying than the outright c*ntish. I'd rather see the real dickheads rounded up and banned before the duplicate-posting trogs. ;)

'Cos end of the day, the dickheads are going to be dickheads whatever, but with a bit of nurturing and educating, the trogs may be saved.

I'm the first to acknowledge that my tolerance levels are naturally pretty low. However, I generally try to adopt a 'live-and-let-live' attitude and this applies to FT too, as far as possible. I have no issue with young, newbie posters per se - yes they make mistakes but the majority (and fair credit to the mods with this, who are far more diplomatic than I could ever hope to be) when their initial mistakes are pointed out to them the 'quality' of their posting starts to improve. Fair enough.

No, what really irritates me is the (very) small number of persistantly ignorant posters (who are not all young, by any means!) who ignore all advice offered to them and who also appear to derive great pleasure out of winding up other posters because they lack the emotional intelligence to judge whether the situation is appropriate or not. I enjoy a good, healthy debate (read 'slanging match'!) as much as the next person but when people post truly offensive replies in response to serious points then yes, unsurprisingly, I get a tad pis*sed off. The world would be a boring place if we didn't have differing opinions, but sometimes a bit more consideration needs to be given before posting a reply that others may genuinely take exception to.

To be honest, the 'starting-new-threads-when-one-already-exists', 'not-reading-all-the-replies-and-posting-the-same-thing-again', 'spouting-unsubstantiated-rumours' type of stuff doesn't bother me that much - I skim over it, tut a bit and roll my eyes in a condescending manner and feel superior - all of which keeps me happy - and. lets face it. if it's that out of order sooner or later it'll be modded anyway.

Inexperienced / uneducated / downright thick - I, and I'm sure others too, can cope with. Persistently obnoxious and offensive to*sers really shouldn't have to be tolerated, imo!

****.

Looks like no sooner have I come back than I am going to have to go...

Bastard.

Did it ever occur to anyone to just ignore duplicates and iffy topics, rather than spam them with witty remarks like " :frusty: "?

Constantly bumping a dodgy (usually read: duplicate) topic with emoticons serves only one purpose - to keep the topic right at the very top of the forum where more people will see it and respond to it in a negative fashion. If a topic's truly so bad, why would you want to draw yet more attention to it?

There's a few posters who've managed to pad their post count by about 10-15% by doing exactly that.

Quite sad really.

Don't feel compelled to respond to a post/topic you think is totally idiotic. There was a time when idiotic shite was looked over and quickly buried by a discussion about something totally unrelated. :ermm:
