General Smuts Posted 17 July 2007 Posted 17 July 2007 He used to be amazing on Champ Man alongside Tommy Wright.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 17 July 2007 Posted 17 July 2007 A while ago I said that I thought players like Beswick wouldn't make it at Leicester City. I felt that with the money Milan Mandaric was bringing into the club, youngsters like him, who did a solid job for the under 18s but didn't stand out like others, would drop down the divisions. That may still happen but he's shown tonight and from MA's comments about Saturday that he may still get his chance at LCFC. As someone said earlier, he is a players' player. He has ability, good with the ball at his feet, moves it about well, scores the odd beauty. He's not a headline grabber like Max Gradel who was playing on the opposite wing to him last season but he could end up getting more of a chance here than Gradel because he's more of a team player. Almost took my head off when he cleared the ball into touch right at the end though
Mickey O'Neil Posted 17 July 2007 Posted 17 July 2007 N'Gotty filled me with more confidence than Mcauley and Kisnorbo and did the simple things really well.Number 4 for Hinckley though. Anyone else think he was an utter **** and shoulda been sent off? He ripped Weso's shirt FFS! I thought N'gotty looked like a brick wall! Hinckley players bounced off him! No. 4 WAS a twat. So was No.8. No-one told them it was a friendly
Thracian Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Whereabouts were you Thrac? In the main stand almost in front of the announcer's room.
Thracian Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Thracian your match report is hilarious :laugh:If Weso's goal was 30 yards then I'm the Queen. It was just outside the area And I'm not quite sure how you thought Sheehan could contest for man of the match, we all thought he did nothing particularly special. Stearman was played out of position and it really showed. Oh and by the way, was it Beswick who came on and played left back? Whoever it was impressed me. a) 25/28/30 yards. Suit yourself. I was clebrating not measuring. b) Did nothing? Ignore his 25-yard pass for Hume's goal but suffice to say all I spoke to thought he was excellent and for lots of reasons. In attack he was all the things we didn't have last season and in defence his winger barely got a kick. He even won the headers cleanly which was a welcome bonus. c) Stearman got through a stack of graft, forced errors, and helped win plenty of ball which enabled us to attack virtually non stop in the first half. No, I wouldn't pick him as a midfielder generally - he's not got the range of distribution anyway - but he tackled an unfamiliar task effectively enough and had energy in abundance. d) I've already mentioned Beswick playing well for his 15/20 minutes or so. Almost got a goal too.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Particularly impressed with Kishishev, who looks composed and a tireless working midfielder. Not so happy with Nielsen, but we'll have to see !!
He's not bald Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Weso was MOM thought he ran the show, weres he found his right foot? Clemence class as i expected, stearman never a midfielder, Stood next to Henderson and Sappleton in the stand aswell! who was on the tannoy aswell! made me laugh, couldn't pronounce any names! yeah..."Richard Spearmint"
Fez of Mahrez Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 There appears to be something of a discrepancy between Thracian's view of Alan Sheehan and nearly everybody else's.
Thracian Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 There appears to be something of a discrepancy between Thracian's view of Alan Sheehan and nearly everybody else's. Certainly not the two guys next to me - but if you trail back through Foxestalk history you'll find some wouldn't have a good word to say about Sheehan whatever he did. A bit like Hammond really. But Fryatt - well I'm a bit surprised he didn't get a 7 rating even last night!

Did Porter get his usual 10/10 despite being one of the most mediocre and overrated players in the division, let alone the club?
Thracian Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Did Porter get his usual 10/10 despite being one of the most mediocre and overrated players in the division, let alone the club? I did wonder if you'd be awake. Did you go?
Lichfieldfox. Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 I did wonder if you'd be awake. Did you go? Can help observing the love of each other you two share. Its keeps everyone else entertained anyway.
scrivins2 Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 The match was an absaloute shambles. No player stood out and I never thought wow he is going to be good this year. Cort only touched the ball a couple of times. Hinckley had the best run of play. I was hyped up about the season, that show disappointed me.
The People's Hero Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 I did wonder if you'd be awake. Did you go? No - you're a much better fan than me. I think I've seen enough of Porter to make my own mind up, though. I'm certainly more inclined to believe my own instincts and the words of sensible, knowledgeable people than the head-in-the-clouds ramblings of a youth-obsessed second-rate hack.

Thracian Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Advantage, Thracian Come on, TPH, fight back! Don't encourage me. TPH needs to do some work.
The People's Hero Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Don't encourage me. TPH needs to do some work. Correct... TPH DOES need to do some work.
Kent Fox Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Correct... TPH DOES need to do some work. So does KF. Oh, I'm out of work right now. Bugger. Have to keep extracting the michael then and enouraging. FIGHT!FIGHT!FIGHT!
jonw88 Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 What do people think about the "de Vries goal" then, was it actually his or did he pretend it was as Hayes' shot flew by him? I really hate the lanky twat, but he seems to be making some effort losing weight and getting fitter, but still don't know why he was playing and Fryatt wasn't?? Anyone know where he was?

OS credit it to DeVries and they've got the video. As for why he was playing TPH will think of something. I'm off out.
Charnwood Norris Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 He's good at 1-on-1 with the keeper, Hume. Has he scored in every friendly thus far? Can see him being our star this season.
