Simi Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 I have to say Hinckleys goalkeeper looked a touch of class.Ex coalville keeper if I've not mentioned it before. Funny that, I don't think you have until now.
The People's Hero Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Funny that, I don't think you have until now. Over last week, my girlfriend and I had a week off. We decided to visit a zoo. She really likes Giraffes. Good old TPH managed to take her to probably the only zoo in the south-east, not to have any sodding giraffes. What a wan ker. (and to save you the bother, Thracian, yes I suppose I would know all about that, )
filbertway Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Going to tell the story to the world of foxestalk? I don't think I need to, you've said enough... you've said enough.
General Smuts Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Was the Hinckley goalkeeper in the second half who saved from Elvis' volley the Dave Clarke who used to play for us at academy level and is he still at our academy i was confused at the end because he stayed in the circle with the rest of the City team

It's not a joke - it's an example of what an idiot I can be sometimes. All she was interested in was seeing giraffes. I took her to a zoo with no giraffes. That's it.

Compromising at it's best.

(and to save you the bother, Thracian, yes I suppose I would know all about that, ) Sorry I'm still trying to get my head round the "little dick" concept (below the belt that, I thought) and the girlfriend who likes the biggest animals on earth. Ah well if it's all in the mind - and it is because I've read that women are fascinated by the big bollocks of zoo animals - does it really matter and should you really be concerned that you perhaps failed to fulfil her fantasies? I don't think so. Strikes me if you set the lights low and perhaps waft in zoo smells, you two could still have some fun. Women have the most wonderful imaginations so I'm told!.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 I'm going to have to start making far less sense to make it as a journalist.

Thracian you've let me down.

jonw88 Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Anyway, giraffes to one side.... Does anybody know where Fryatt and Mattock were and why they weren't playing at Hinckley? Did anyone see them in the stands or around the pitch? Does this mean Fryatt could be on his way?

Manwell Pablo Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Sorry, I got the impression from your comments that you might have been there.Don't remember you defending the "doesn't matter if he's not there" stance when I had a go at Worthington (who thankfully has now gone and been replaced by someone who's far more positive and innovative). As for Sheehan's record with the first team in League, Cup and official friendly matches it might be fairly short but it reads pretty well to me. Just the one defeat in about 10 outings from memory - against Bolton in the Cup. Proves nothing of course but I don't understand why you should throw his "league football" in like it's something he might be ashamed of when it's probably as good as anyone's in the club, at least results wise. His lack of matches due to groin and other injury, Nils' seemingly immovable presence, punishment block for being sent off against Crewe etc did him no favours but right now, Martin Allen seems to have got the old Sheehan back and that's to both parties' credit and comes as no surprise to me. Whether Sheehan will be good enough to win a first team place I don't know but I do know we've needed attackers of his kind at full-back for ages and we seem to have three of them now all firing on all cylinders. Furthermore I don't see why I shouldn't be pleased about that and about Sheehan's contribution last night, along with that of several others like Hume, Weso, Hayes, Chambers, Porter, Kishishev, Beswick etc. It sure beats the frustration of last year when even pre-season victories only glossed over the fact that nothing was changing, nothing was going forwards. You've only got to see the record crowds at Quorn and Hinckley to know that things are different now and there's every chance that the days of despair are over. If you want to stay cynical so be it. Look at what you've written, look at all the conclusions you've jumped to. Insane. Sheehans record with the first team isn't long enought to draw any conclusiosn from. And the stats you use are just convient irrelevent bull shit, if the stat you refer means Sheehan is a excellent player than Geoff Horsfield must be one as well as I remember us losing once in about 8/9 league games when he first got into the team.
Thracian Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 I'm going to have to start making far less sense to make it as a journalist. Successful journalists don't have to make sense - and never will to those who disagree - they just have to get read.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 What do you mean by 'make it'? Now I come to think of it, get over 10,000 posts on here without being banned. Just another mission accomplished in my amazing life.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Did Thracian ever actually 'make it'? I knew that's what you were driving at, I'm just practising being nice cos I remembered I'll start bumping into anyone I slag off on here once the season starts.
