Thracian Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 His improved sleep patterns as a result of reading that will no doubt contribute to his improvement. Floods gone down now then?
Raj Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 IMHO a 'FIT'(not in the sexual way but in a physically fit way!!!) will be a credit to this new look Leicester team. With all the other options open to Mr Allen i think this could really get Fryatt to pull his socks up and prove what he can do! Either that or he'll get mardy arse and fcuk off somewhere else!!
Joe. Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 Fez is right, there are only a few people who slag him off. There's plenty of people though, including me who have a mixed opinion of him. I do believe Fryatt has some talent, but he's not a player who could get 20 goals in the Championship I don't think. I'm not prepared to judge Fryatt on last season's showings- he was playing in a shite team, he was unfit and injured. The 2005/06 season he showed what he can do by scoring some crucial goals for us after he joined. This is the Fryatt we all want to see, and who knows, maybe he could replicate this form in the better team we now have? At the moment though, Fryatt's third choice striker for me and unlikely to get a real consistent first team place. This will definitely hinder him and he's never going to score over 15 goals let alone 20 playing as a third choice striker. If we received a good bid for him, I think we'd be stupid to turn it down. The figures being rumoured in the region of £1.5 million are healthy sums of money.
Master Fox Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 So in the 15 or so games he played for us in 2005/06 you're saying he wasn't anything special? And i'm not necessarily talking about the quality of the goals he scored, some strikers are reknown for scoring scrappy goals. Special? Absolutely not When staring into the barrel of relegation any player who scores a couple of goals to help rescue a failing team will stand out. I was impressed with his contributions in that season and I thought he might turn out to be quite good. But no, I’ve seen him this season and that’s enough for me. I don’t care if had an injury he was back fit and playing showing that he was in fact rather woeful. He reminds me of a moody pre pubescent teenager who binges on crisps and chocolate when he can’t get his own way. It could be compared to the current situation where he’s sulking because he’s no longer ‘Special Matty’ I can just imagine him trudging around the training ground sulking and complaining about how tough it is. It appears Fatty Matty thinks he’s better than he his. Maybe Tubsy can prove me wrong at Norwich or where ever he goes? We need a quality centre forward and Matty just doesn’t cut it.
woznotwos Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 So if fryatt becomes a regular who misses out?? is dj gonna be on the subs bench?? hume??......unless hume is dropped to midfield dont think so. Sorry i cant see us paying 2 million for a striker to warm the bench. Hume is the fans favourite surely. I cant see Fryatt being first team regular. Maybe we'll have a rotation system including the new look Defries hume used to play midfield at Tranmere i believe . Still if they are all on fire wouldnt it be great..hehe competition for places at Leicester , im wetting myself with anticipation.
Daggers Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 Fully fit, if he plays 40 games next season he'll score 15+ goals. ...and there you have it. Will he be? Will he ever show something approaching his previous potential again? If I'm given the option between Fryatt and someone that actually did the business last season I'd go for the one in form and fitness. You don't go to the geegees and lob a couple of grand on a nag that could have been good but has been injured for the last 12 months and carries no form. It's a no-brainer. None of us have a clue whether he'll be any cop this season. I am now officially really bored with Fryatt debates.
MBK Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 I am now officially really bored with Fryatt debates. Boredoom is a quintessential treatise to promote pinching of bannyboy's primples.

None of us have a clue whether he'll be any cop this season. I am now officially really bored with Fryatt debates. He's 21, his injuries last season were hardly career ruining from what I gather. It was just the sort of injury that takes a while to heal and the problem was, Kelly kept rushing him back. I'm no medic, but i've not heard of too many footballers have their careers ruined by the arches of their feet collapsing, even if it does sound quite severe. I suppose if he's crap next season, what can we blame it on? I'm making no excuses up for Fryatt now. He's had a few months now of complete rest and the injury should have cleared up, i've not heard of it still being a problem. So now Fryatt should be able to show his true ability. It's over to him.
Toby or not Toby Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 I think the fact that his in MA's squad for the trip to Scotland shows that he is in his plans. I hope and think he will be a Leicester City player next season. Get behind the lad
Daggers Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 It's over to him. Well, you have faith in him Ric and that should be good enough for me. Afterall, you are the same person that has an eye for talent... I like Elvis, he looks like a player who really enjoys his football and cares about it. If there's any man who deserves a few goals it's him. He's still an unknown commodity and we could well have a bargain at what Levein has paid for him. Not many players stay at a premierhsip club until they are 24 unless they are quite talented, he just never really got a chance which is why he's here and not somewhere better. He reminds me of a raw Jason Roberts and once he finds the net, he could be as lethal at this level.
Daggers Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 :laugh:Harsh. "Lethal at this level" That's my favourite bit. If I stop posting shortly then you know the ban has kicke...
l444ry Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 Well, you have faith in him Ric and that should be good enough for me.Afterall, you are the same person that has an eye for talent... You cruel bugger Daggers. I reckon Manwell should have a "Embarrasing things I spouted which turned out to haunt me" thread.

Manwell Pablo Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 Johnson would be idealRemember thracian, you cant win anything with kids!!! Couldn't agree more While we're posting old quotes
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 You cruel bugger Daggers. I reckon Manwell should have a "Embarrasing things I spouted which turned out to haunt me" thread. Not sure Manwell could have a whole thread but he'd have to have that one about Ameobi being better than Martins.
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 Not sure Manwell could have a whole thread but he'd have to have that one about Ameobi being better than Martins. Right I'm digging something up on you now.
The People's Hero Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 Right I'm digging something up on you now. Do some work. *is anxious Manwell might be gunning for him soon*
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 Lucky for him I do have to some work now, Aidos Amigos.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 Lucky for him I do have to some work now, Aidos Amigos. Ha. I am invincible.
Daggers Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 I welcomed Johnson and believe I also argued that he was much misunderstood at one point.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 I probably said he was a really good signing. I don't think there were many people who predicted just what a shitemeister he'd be so if that's the best he can come up with for us we're laughing Daggers.

Daggers Posted 23 July 2007 Posted 23 July 2007 I live a life of contradictions, it doesn't concern me in the slightest. Maybe if anyone took me seriously to begin with it would perturb me a touch.
