stevie909 Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 When i was 8 i was strolling down church street in Harbrorough when a smart woman grabbed me enthusiastically by the shoulders and said 'kid!! how would you like to meet steve walsh??' I was whisked into a new pine store they had just opened, where as a publicity stunt i met walsh, received a signed book from him and had my picture taken for the mail. Result!
dandannieldanok Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 Can't remember ever seeing a City player in public, I did sit on the same bus as Steve Staunton in the Brimingham Airport car park and I've seen Milan Baros in departures there too, it's a hotbed for the Black country's finest stars
TheBlinding Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 I spoke to Robbie Savage in the toilets in Miami Airport
sbrand Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 Was in said supermarket last Friday on the way home to pick up some refreshments. Saw 2 blackpool trainers at the till filling trolleys with milkshake...i kid you not. Must be their secret weapon, banana being the flavour of choice by the looks of things.

'Twas on my birthday and I had my new full Leicester kit on. He signed a menu for me , still have it. Have also seen Weso and Dodds/Sheehan (couldn't see properly) in McDonalds a few months back.

Were it the one in the Shires? I saw 'em at Millies Cookies a few months ago. I didn't know if it was with Dodds or Sheehan either. They didn't get a brownie there though, so they aren't cool. (Seriously their brownies are the nicest things on earth).

General Smuts Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 When was that? thats' me house! Paddy Mac came in last season and I had a chat with him, he had some friends in the pub who had come to see him play, but he was injured. he got me two free tickets to Derby away and signed programmes... and now he's gone This was back when he played for us so a good 9/10 years ago If you live in the Red Cow you must know Lorna Minhinnett then you unforunate soul.
Finchy Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 If you wanna see City players or Tigers players, Borders near Fosse Park in Enderby is the place to go. Last week i saw, the whole Tigers squad after there training session drinking in the starbucks and last Friday I saw DJ Campbell and Steven Clemence in there. In the past i have seen just about every Leicester City and Tigers player there has been for the last 2 years. Sunday is the most popular for the City players.
Geo V Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 He came into my work today (Sainsburys Restaurant, rather swathe - i know!)He had a jacket potato and salad which surprised me as i thought he may have gone for the Mega All day Brunch option. He did however have a fizzy drink, and left some salad He also left his Leicester Mercury on the table, which i took a swoop for Anyone else saw footballers anywhere? I know we have a thread like this somewhere but im not looking through and the poor search button needs a break. Are you sure that wasnt what his chips and pie were wrapped in mate?? Come on Matty, score them goals but hopefully not from the left-wing!

Mike the Metal Ed Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 Served Paul Dickov in Markfield Londis shortly before the La Manga incident, saw James Wesolowski outside the ground after one game last season, Russell Hoult in the Charnwood Arms and Louis Dodds was in my form in years 7-9. I also took a phone order from an Andy Welsh while working at HMV last Christmas, but I can't confirm if it was our world class loan winger, probably not since I doubt loan signings move into the community.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 Weso - HMV Savage - Brantano (St.Georges Retail Park) Lennon - The old co-op that used to be in Thurmaston
weggy1976 Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 Anyone else saw footballers anywhere? I know we have a thread like this somewhere but im not looking through and the poor search button needs a break. Rumour has it there was a FEW at The walkers Stadium on Sat 11th. There was a great ex player on the Blackpool bench, Stevie Thompson (Larrys No2). Thomo used to pass the ball, great goal at Wembley in the Swindon play off. Good old days.
kylecoare Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 I used to be a barrow boy on leicester market for a fabric stall, and had to serve Muzzy, made my day! Once saw neil lennon in Fan club and robbie savage in undecided.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 I once meet Paddy Kisnorbos Aussie girlfriend she come to my house to pick my brother up and take him to uni in Melbourne, a few years back when he was playing for Hearts. Yeah we don't see too many players over here.
maddog Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 I saw Rab Douglas in a tea room in Birstall. His Bentley was parked right near him I thought what is he doing there at 1 o clock driving around in his Bentley drinking tea when he should be training to try and get back in the team. He was chatting up some woman actually, may have been his wife/g.f/daughter etc

More like "I scavenged Matty Fryatt's left overs".
The People's Hero Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 I had my picture taken with Pontus Kaamark and the MIGHTY Ian Marshall at the Griffin in Swithland when Birch was landlord there. We posed with the Premier League trophy, which was there for no reason at all. It's a smashing picture. Pontus looks every inch the master of clean cut Scandinavian sophistication, my brother and I look like grinning idiots and Ian Marshall just looks like some bloke who's wandered in and shouldn't be there.I saw Neil Lennon in the Orange Tree once at around the time he joined Celtic. My mate was a bit tanked up and asked him not to leave, which was fair enough except that he was in the toilets at the time. I always said that was the final straw for Lenny. We know now that he was very depressed at the time and I doubt being hassled in the bogs by a drunken shortarse was likely to help his state of mind. I saw Kisnorbo and Nils Eric in Banter last year but that's barely worth mentioning. I occasionally see Wesolowski wandering around town on my way home from work. It's funny because when he sees you looking at him he gets quite nervous, poor little lad. The next time I see him I'm going to run after him with my arms and eyes wide shouting 'I only want to be your friend, Jim' IAN MARSHALL. Fuc king legend.
maddog Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 IAN MARSHALL.Fuc king legend. Saw him in Asda once, after hed retired though he looked really old and a little overweight
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 I've met Heskey when I was about 12, Savage Izzet and Lennon were all in Jimmy Deans in Osgathorpe once and Sav was acting like a complete tit. Russel Holt and John Hartson I've both met in Ashby, Russell Holt has ridiculously big hands. I saw James Hayter in Newquay once. Oh yeah and my mate tried to convince Beneito Carbone to play for his 5 a side team in the pub, he offered him his car ( F wredge Mark 1 Fiesta) All he got back was "no no no no no, I contract to Derby, I contract to Derby" that was funny. Then there was the famed Dennis Wise incident in March this year. And I met Ivan Del Le Pena in a Italian restraunt last month!
