James. Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Now can we get rid of the "Allen's going to get sacked" rumours? Now can we get rid of the "Allen Denies Mandaric Rift" threads? This is one too many as it is. Put simply it'd be a f**king miracle if they didn't have disagreements. What the media choose to sensationalise is up to them. It's up to us to ignore it and use some common sense.

NFFC Chris Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Seen his interview on SSN this morning,I have to love his passion and I must admit I'm quite jealous you've got a man like him in charge where as we have the statue that is Colin Calderwood

demon_dog Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/...p;TEAMHD=soccerNow can we get rid of the "Allen's going to get sacked" rumours? I know it's not as strong as MM denying them but still, it's something Here we go again, it's like a bloody merry go round. I don't think these rumours will disappear until MM actually gives an interview to deny it. He must see the articles in the papers. Why the hell does he not say something. Or is it that he just likes to see Leicester City in the news whatever the reason.

Wezleylowski Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 spot on ;)who do you support then? I will pretend i did'nt see that.
James. Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Don't reply if you don't like the thread. Grow up, son. This place would be half the fun and half the value if people only responded in threads they "liked". I was making a serious point, if you don't agree feel free to offer a counter argument. It's called discussion.
willy37 Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 as much as we love allen and want him to stay if manderic wants him out then he will go. Remember his pompy days
Simi Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 This is the same interview that was on Sky Sports News this morning. Yet more conformation that th papers have space to fill in there sections.
Simi Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 It's good that you all want him to stay but putting things into perspective and being devils advocate for a minute he has only got one win so far and is busy whipping up as much support as possible some might say for his own cause. I wouldn't dig that deep into it to be honest. It was nice to see him encouraging the fans to vocally back the team. He's said in the past he can't wait to see the Walkers jumping up and down, I'd say he was just helping to do that.
DB11 Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 spot on ;)who do you support then? The NFFC in his name would suggest Forest

l444ry Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 As Martin Allen has felt the need to respond in his own way, it would be helpful for us supporters if Milan would do the same.
James. Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 As Martin Allen has felt the need to respond in his own way, it would be helpful for us supporters if Milan would do the same. I've been thinking about this quite a bit. As per my earlier post I think WE (as fans) should ignore the media and use our brains a bit. It just doesn't make sense to sack Allen. On the other hand there really is only one way to quell the unrest amongst some of the supporters caused by these reports and that's if Mandaric pipes up. I just can't decide if it would be a positive move. Would the media not just re-sensationalise it as "the dreaded vote of confidence" or would they move on to the next unsuspecting perilously placed manager?

But by staying silent this hasn't gone away. If anything it's getting worse. What will the media frenzy be after the next defeat? It's what Roeder's appears to have said on Sky which worries me and requires a comment. Is Mandaric after another Director of Football? Just clear the air for us supporters. The press are a bunch of jackals really..... sometimes it's better to give them some scraps and let them move on.
demon_dog Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 According to the papers Allen has 3 games to save his job. Depending on when this supposed quote originated, let me think. A good draw against Palace (should've been a win) +1, a bloody good win against Watford +2, now all we need is a win against Forest +3. Easy.
Mort Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 If you believe what's being spouted over on TB... there's a takeover bid from "local investors and former members of the board" in response to Milan's handling of the club...
Thracian Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 You don't buy a dog and bark yourself; let Martin manage and be supportive. Absolutely. And MM should be thanking MA for a start for saving him a stack on JFH. Cracking player in his time. But a bottle of milk is great when it's come straight from the cow and been nicely chilled. Doesn't mean you should drink it when it's gone off... Not that it's not right now I'm concerned about MA. It'll be when he's had his first bad run of four or five iffy results, he'll need to watch out. Cos if MM's lying in wait, ready to avenge himself on the man who seems to have looked him in the eye without flinching, that is when he'll pounce. And it is then the fans will need to back MA big time and show we don't want Neil the Spiel and we don't want Roeder to Nowhere...ever.
Geo V Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 It's good that you all want him to stay but putting things into perspective and being devils advocate for a minute he has only got one win so far and is busy whipping up as much support as possible some might say for his own cause. MA has been vocal from the get-go and he is not doing anything just for his own cause. Of course his job is made easier if we all sing for 90 mins and that ends up helping the side win but he is just using his passion for the game to make his job easier. Also, for the record, its 2 wins, one draw when the opponents equalized in the 94th minute and a 0-1 loss when we hit the bar twice and had something like 23 shots on goal. Another thing about MA is (and I mean no disrespect), he has actually been managing some poorly supported sides and lower league teams and now he is at this level he wants to really shine to prove to himself that he is good enough. Whatever he does to spark interest or even talking points amongst us fans is fine by me.
Nickfosse Posted 27 August 2007 Posted 27 August 2007 Absolutely. And MM should be thanking MA for a start for saving him a stack on JFH. Cracking player in his time. But a bottle of milk is great when it's come straight from the cow and been nicely chilled. Doesn't mean you should drink it when it's gone off...s been trying to influence what MA does in terms of signings and/or team selection. Spot on Thrac. Remember Roeder took West Ham down with Cole, Lampard, Ferdinand, Defoe, Carrick (the list goes on) By the way, can anyone tell me what Roeder said on Goals on Sunday please.
Thracian Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Spot on Thrac. Remember Roeder took West Ham down with Cole, Lampard, Ferdinand, Defoe, Carrick (the list goes on)By the way, can anyone tell me what Roeder said on Goals on Sunday please. Sounds like no-one bothered listening - as if that doesn't send MM a message.
Cheese Me Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 If you believe what's being spouted over on TB... there's a takeover bid from "local investors and former members of the board" in response to Milan's handling of the club...     Yes, because they've all proved in the past how well they can handle the club and come forward in the past when we've needed them. Don't believe it for a second but if tru they can all $od off frankly
Chrysalis Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 It does look like there is truth in the rumours and I was watching goals on sunday and watched the very question that was put to roeder and his response was scary he seemed to indicate he has been approached and is interested by saying nothing is happening 'yet', either very bad wording or something may happen but he didnt deny the approach. Paul jewell I could live with but I think sacking martin allen now is ludicrous and it all seems to be triggered by the non signing of hasselbank. MA will not be sacked this week following the 4-1 even tho we were losing to forest, so I expect he has at least a week a bit left in the job and if he keeps winning MM may change his mind as results will do the talking.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 MA is a manager that supporters can be proud of his exentric to the point, enthusiastic and passionate. MM will be taking a massive step in the wrong direction if he brings some one else
