Elvis would score for fun in a weak league like the spl!

Laugh or not I soon found myself wishing he was playing last night instead of Fryatt. Hammond was always a good player in the Reserves and you were guaranteed some effort.

Is a bit odd he can't even get in our stiffs I have to admit.

Mate, just because half the players are wa nk, it doesn't mean the goals are any bigger.

He'd still have to stay onside and shoot on target.

No chance.

The phrase "blue eyed boy" comes to mind.

I'd hardly call Fryatt or any other striker playing in the reserves for us on Monday are referred to as the 'blue eyed boy' by Martin Allen. I think it's widely known that Allen isn't all that impressed by Fryatt.

Hammond will be off on loan i'd imagine, starting the rollercoaster of clubs he'll be going to and from over the next few years like Benjamin.

For over 12 months now Fryatt has been given chance after chance by Leicester.

No way did he deserve to start the season as first choice last season but he did.

His form was awful.

After his injury he was rushed back into firm team action - made little impression - and quickly went injured again.

The same happened a second time but still City found reasons to make him first choice - none of them being about the goals he was scoring.

This close season, while Dodds has been on loan and people like Odhiambo and McKay have had the smallest cameos, Fryatt has had stacks of time of chances to stake his claim once more.

At one stage I even thought he might repay some of the faith shown.

But the pendulum creaked back against Accrington and Forest Reserves finally finishing on static, with his substitution.

Odhiambo was moved to the right wing for the Forest match to enable Fryatt to play in his favourite centre-forward role for the reserves.

Hammond didn't even get a place on the bench nor has he been seen since what appeared to be a minor injury after the Quorn game. McKay had to sit on the bench and make do with 20 minutes or so.

Apart from Akinbiyi I cannot think of another striker who, despite scoring so few goals, has had as many chances to put things right as Fryatt.

Seems he's been well favoured to me.

Thread title: Rab Douglas....Finally going?

Oh he'll take any excuse to have a pop at Fryatt, not even fit to play for the ressies now lol ****ing joke.

In any case his point is flawed.

Hammond 63 Apperances - 10 goals

Fryat 53 apperances - 10 goals

I make that Hammond failing to score despite beng given plenty of oppurtunities not the other way round.

How many of those games did Elvis start?

I agree with Thracian, Elvis is actually better than Fryatt.

How many goals Fryatt has scored in League and Cup matches for our first team since the beginning of last season? Four in around 24 starts and 36 games where he's been involved, give or take a game.

And go back into ancient history if you like but you only prove my point really.... they've (apparently) given up on Hammond (who scored more than Fryatt last season) but cannot bear to do so with Fryatt.

Deflecting my attack from Fryatt to Hammond simply doesn't hide the truth. Fryatt's scoring record over the last 12 months is pitiful, his recent form equally so and in his last match he didn't seem bothered to me or to a few others who've posted on here.

I know you like the guy and believe we'll "rue the day" he leaves but while I accept he might do better or even do well elsewhere, I'm simply not convinced that this is where he most wants to be or that we'll ever be more than frustrated by the guy.

You well know I'd rather you were proved right on this issue but watching him against Forest Reserves left no further doubts for me. If it's true that Fryatt's heart is not in playing for us I can see no sense in persisting with him.

If it's not true I wish he'd show it properly.

With a little fine-tuning I reckon Manwell could play for Airdrie United. thumbup: :D

Douglas trains at Motherwell

by Andy Mann

Leicester City have confirmed that goalkeeper Rab Douglas is training with Scottish Premier League side Motherwell.

The former Scotland keeper has not played for City since the 2-2 draw with Derby at the Walkers Stadium in February 2006 - and has become something of a forgotten man as far as the Blue Army are concerned.

Douglas, reckoned to be one of City's highest earners when he signed from Celtic in 2005, was placed on the transfer list shortly after Martin Allen took over as manager.

The 35-year-old, who has played 35 times for City, has been linked with moves to Gretna and Dundee during the transfer window.

Now he is on trial at Fir Park, and Motherwell manager Mark McGhee said: “Rab has made it clear he wants to come back up the road. I was working on a few other options, but so far none of them have come off, so we decided to have a look at Rab.â€

Could it be Bye, Bye , Rab.

Leicester City goalkeeper Rab Douglas has revealed he's close to signing for Motherwell.

Douglas has spent the last week training with the Fir Park club, and he told BBC Sport: "I think Motherwell want me back up on Monday.

"I don't think we are too far away from getting things sorted with Leicester. My agent is sorting it out."

He'll be off the wage bill at last :w00t:

I bet we'll still have to pay a portion of his wages. Still as they say in Tescos' every little helps'.
