Lillehamring Posted 25 August 2007 Posted 25 August 2007 obviously, this is terribly sad... yet it opens up the question in my mind, what with pericard jailed for speeding (and i'm not saying Jones was) but, these young lads earning enough to buy big fast cars, that it's a wonder more of them aren't killed. I mean how many times do you see 17,18,19 year olds killed in car crashes, and these footballers often tend to go for high powered cars that are probably way beyond there experience and driving capacity. hope this wasn't the case, for the sake of his family, but its no wonder players and cars is such big news these days.
Zingari Posted 25 August 2007 Posted 25 August 2007 sad news indeed , condolences to his family and the other 2 victims families also ; and hope that the injured passengers make speedy recoveries lets hope some lessons can be learned

Tomassi Posted 25 August 2007 Posted 25 August 2007 Ray Jones, R.I.P. Sad Sad Loss, condolences to Ray's Family, Friends, Queens Park Rangers Football Club and supporters.
Simi Posted 25 August 2007 Posted 25 August 2007 Thames Valley Police have just issued a statement confirming that Ray was actually driving the crashed Golf GTI last night. It is being reported that Ray passed his driving test last week and celebrated buying a new car which he crashed last night. He lost control turning right into a main road, careered straight across both lanes, hitting the kerb and the car turned over 2 or 3 times before ending up beside a bus. All very sad for all 3 in the car who died. May you all RIP

DB11 Posted 25 August 2007 Posted 25 August 2007 As has been said, I think that he shouldn't have bought and then drove such a powerful car so soon after his driving test but at the end of the day he's still dead so RIP
Asha Posted 25 August 2007 Posted 25 August 2007 Also the young lad who was stabbed a while back, was a member of their academy and very highly rated. Kiyan Prince?
Geo V Posted 25 August 2007 Posted 25 August 2007 Shocking stuff. Last season he was being touted as their next Les Ferdinand. What a shame and what a waste. Condolences to his family. RIP
Asha Posted 25 August 2007 Posted 25 August 2007 Yeah it brings it home really. I live in a world where footballers are many people's idols and when one dies while still professional and really shows footballers are just normal people with a bigger wage slip.
Ultra Posted 26 August 2007 Posted 26 August 2007 Deeply shocked and saddened by this news. He seemed a real prospect when he played last season. R.I.P.
