Mack Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Because I do. Probably wont be popular on here but I never liked or trusted the appointment of Allen. The bloke is a loon and lacked the experience to get us up and where we need to be. The club was in a right state when Milan put his money where his mouth is and came in to take over. Maybe he realised after a few weeks what a balls up he made appointing Allen as Manager, but that is his mistake and one no doubt he will have to pay handsomely for in financial and critical terms. I admire the man for realising he has made an error and having the bollocks to change it and get it right for the benefit of the club. He must have know this would not be a popular move, but he has had the conviction to do it. For me if he is willing to take the flack and pay up a contract to get things right that is something to be respected. Granted it is not the best of starts to the season, lets hope he has a very high calibre replacement in mind and within a few weeks this whole saga is put behind us all and we are looking forward to a promotion hunt.

If Mandaric felt that it was a relationship which wasn’t going to work then maybe it is best for Allen to go now rather than inevitably in 2-3 months. Personally, Allen’s appointment wasn’t the correct one from the word go. His inane ramblings in interviews and web blogs were an embarrassment and quite frankly he came across as thick at times (regarding his appointment:’its like your Sunday dinner, I’m the veg and this is the meat’). Sure he shouted and screamed and was ‘passionate’ but upsetting the chairman and everyone else, if rumours are to be believed, wouldn’t have helped him at all. In hindsight, over the past week he would’ve known this was coming judging by his veiled comments to the press, ‘ I enjoy it everyday here’ etc, designed to win favour with the fans. Mandaric himself didn’t want to comment on the ‘speculation’ pretty much proving it was in his thoughts. Well done to Milan for pursuing with his takeover of our debt ridden club and stabilizing us, laying some early foundations to push for promotion and the promised land of the premier league. Without him we could be facing Rob Kelly leading us into League One. The forum threads demanding Milan go? See above
Ric Flair Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I am 100% behind Milan Mandaric. I know where we've been.
eaststandtom Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I am 100% behind Milan Mandaric. I know where we've been. yes yes yes milan mandaric's blue and white army
Geo V Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Yes I back him still but he shouldn't put the fans that he apparently cares so much about through the mud with knee-jerk reactions and decisions. This one is way too early IMO.
Ric Flair Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Yes I back him still but he shouldn't put the fans that he apparently cares so much about through the mud with knee-jerk reactions and decisions. This one is way too early IMO. How do you know it's too early. We don't know what's gone on. There is more to this than meets the eye, as Fez has said.
Simi Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I'm still very disappointed at the decision. But I remember where we were not long ago, without Mandaric we would still be there more than likely. We were promised a roller coaster ride, that's exactly what we're getting.
inmemoryofdoreen Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 i was angry when this first came out, but have had a bit of time to think now and am not so. allen was a personality but whether or not he was the man to take us up and stay there i`m not so sure now. the coaching staff never filled me with massive confidence and i think thats got a lot to do with it, mandaric probably feels he didn`t have the best coaching team in place as he could have. my family own hinckley united and therefore they know one or two of the leicester players personally and i heard that some of the more senior members of the squad were a bit embarrassed by some of the training games they were made to play as they felt they were too childish. maybe if this is true it made milan believe that allen and his team were not upto his professional standards, time will tell.

teblin Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I'm Backing Milan, he won't have taken this decision lightly.
Mort Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I am 100% behind Milan Mandaric. I know where we've been. nail, head hit, on, the...

Manwell Pablo Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I don't entriely trust him. He may of made Portsmouth but he did Nice no favours. Gratefull to him for what he's done but now I'm concearned this time here will be pretty unspectacular compared to his time at Pompey.
adam Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Dont trust him 100% either. Hes done very little for us YET.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I don't like the descion but I trust Milan is doing what he believes is the best thing for this football club, who knows where we would be with out him. Possibly starting the league 1 season -15. So we move on and get behind the players and who ever takes charge of the club in the near future as at least we are now in a postion that we are competetive and we have the ability to challenge for playoffs this year. We need to remember that Milan is a smart business man. We need to remember that we are all looking at this from the outside and don't really know what goes on from day to day
Dr The Singh Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 We don't really have too many options, he's investing in the club and controls the club...........................
Lord Nibblington Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Can't say I trust his judgement on managers, but there's not a lot whining about it can do, since he's not going anywhere soon. Just have to hope he gets it right.
Frenzied Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I don't entriely trust him.He may of made Portsmouth but he did Nice no favours. Gratefull to him for what he's done but now I'm concearned this time here will be pretty unspectacular compared to his time at Pompey. I agree. It seems in some respects that Portsmouth managed to get where they did despite Mandaric ie sacking Rednap. However, I'm still backing him albeit with one or two more concerns.
C-man Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 How do you know it's too early. We don't know what's gone on. There is more to this than meets the eye, as Fez has said. Agreed. I don't think we have any choice other than to trust Mandaric. I'm very disappointed there hasnt been more of an explanation for it, but I think we just have to get on with it.
Leonisco Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Gotta say I think the decision to sack Allen is a disgrace. I still believe we were going in the right direction under him, he should've been given until Christmas at the very least. However, as everyone has said, we'd be far worse off if Milan wasn't here, I'm still behind him.
josh_baskin Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 IN MILAN I TRUST Did what he had to do, im just so glad he took action so soon but was very unfortunate about the timing of it after Tuesday night.
Phube Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 To be honest, thinking about this 'affair' now, apart from the shocking lack of games Allen had to prove himself. What really irks me is how Milan was obviously leaking his ideas to certain parts of the press for a few weeks prior to the sacking! Now this may be the way things are done nowadays but it is just underhand and sneaky, not to mention could have undermined the results of the team, I don't like it, I don't like it one bit.
