Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Interesting post by Hazzman on Talking Balls; Stop shouting! The non-appointment of Warnock at the start of the season seems fairly easy to establish why he didn't go ahead. Warnock has always been MM's no.1 target. The fans have an unhappy relationship with Warnock and this was made clear during pre-season. MM wants season ticket and shirt sales in the Summer and Warnock would been a complete turn-off. Now he's in the position that fans have bought shirts, tickets and season tickets - he can afford to abuse them now he has their money. Simple really. Warnock's last quote of 'I'll give it up if I don't get a job by Xmas' was quiet possibly telling MM get rid of MA2. I'd of liked Davies or Jewell but it seems to me nailed on for Warnock.
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Interesting post by Hazzman on Talking Balls; This is going to be quite hard to take if it happens.
ASH17LCFC Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Glen Roeder done nothing has a manager ... Except get a very good west ham side relegated. Brian Little it should be and get Steve Walsh as his assistant manager and rebuild Filbert Street why where at it. Gonna be Davies though i reckon.
The People's Hero Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 It's Warnock isn't it? Where can I place money on this?
Ric Flair Posted 10 September 2007 Author Posted 10 September 2007 Interesting post by Hazzman on Talking Balls; This is going to be quite hard to take if it happens. The only saving grace is that if it is Warnock, there is no need for a shortlist of 4, 5 or possibly 6 and a round of interviews that's cut short Milan's holiday. So that doesn't make sense. It's Warnock isn't it?Where can I place money on this?Bet 365
He's not bald Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Roeder or Warnock? We're screwed! It's just too horrible to contemplate,Saturday will be like a nightmare if either of them are standing in the technical area (note to self:put rose tinted specs in drawer with season ticket)
Pete_foxes Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 I don't know who I'd prefer. I don't think we should right Roeder off completly as an apsolute numpty.. I can't think of any of the top of my head, But I'm sure there is no end of managers that have done a bad job of one club, but then bounced back with another & with Warnock, no matter how much I dislike him, he aint bad.. he got Sheffield united promoted & although they did go down, he so very nearly kept them in the league. Only relegated on the last day if my memory is correct.
ASH17LCFC Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 If Warnock gets the job, will they pin his comments up on leicester cheating in the dressing room ? Get the boys fired up before a game.
BigGibbo Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Well primarly because I was pissed.Seconderley because it thought it was a silly idea. If its possible for mandaric to pull it off it would be exciting & worth a punt i think It would be inconceivable to imagine how he and Mandaric would get on. You maybe right but i think Mandaric would be more patient & tactul with a manager that has a pedigree he respects
Dames Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 This is going to be quite hard to take if it happens. Yeah. I would feel let down and ripped off and it would turn matchdays into a chore instead of something you look forward too all week long.
Daggers Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 If this was a three-way race including a slice of cheese on toast I may care to give a sensible answer but in the meantime I vote for the joke candidate.
ASH17LCFC Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 I want Nigel Clough just before we play forest so we can sing ... CLOUGHIE IS A LEICESTER FAN. How ironic would that be.
davieG Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 If it's someone not currently employed why the doubts about getting it sorted by QPR. The demonising of MA takes another move forward with the last paragraph, personally the team had never looked fitter for the last 5 years From the Merc Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric has cut short his holiday as he steps up his search for a new manager. Mandaric will not be rushed and there is an outside chance the new man might be in place for Saturday's Championship visit of QPR. He said: "This was supposed to be a time of being with my family, but I have returned from holiday early to move things forward. "Last week I was with them in America, but I was on the telephone so much it did not go down well!" A host of names have been linked as possible successors to Martin Allen, including Peter Reid, Neil Warnock, Brendan Rogers, Glenn Roeder, Gary Megson, Paul Jewell, Iain Dowie and Paul Sturrock. Mandaric said: "I will be working hard this week to get the right man for the job as soon as possible because I don't want this season to go to waste. "We have brought in a lot of good players, good characters who I am sure will do well for us, and they need the right man to lead them. "I have not set a target for getting the new manager in place, although it would be ideal if we could make it happen before Saturday's game against QPR." Mandaric is not afraid of making tough decisions, as he showed in the departure of Allen 12 days ago, and is even more determined that the new appointment fares better. He said: "The man I want should be a strong character, have experience and be the man I feel can take us where we all want to go. It may not be easy but it will happen." If it does not happen by Saturday, or even by the following Tuesday's re-scheduled Carling Cup clash at Nottingham Forest, the caretaker staff will continue with Mandaric's support. He said: "I am very satisfied that the squad is in good hands at the moment. "Jon Rudkin and his coaches, Mike Stowell and Steve Beaglehole, have already improved the players' fitness, which I was concerned about, and they have done a good job."

As the report says it was MM's decision to sack MA in the first place, thus placing pressures on his all important holiday. I just loathe this kind of page filler report in the Mercury. It says nothing at all of note. Lets hope the caretaker staff don't say/do the wrong thing this week or else the Birch will be in charge. And as I think you said in another post I hate the Club 'urging everyone to get behind the new appointment'. Frankly whoever they appoint I'll get behind them cos LCFC is my Club, always has been, always will be, despite what the last few years have thrown at me, namely: Administration Not paying the local ambulance trust when we were in administration Akinibyi La Manga Not stop worries about relegation LCFC 0-5 Bolton LCFC 0-5 Villa LCFC 1-4 Sheffield Weds Rab Douglas Lack of central midfield False dawns Uriah Rennie I could go on, but you get the point

It's not the first time i've heard remarks about the fitness regime under Allen. I'd read some of our players were not happy with the regime and had contacted an ex-fitness coach of ours to boost their fitness levels.

Daggers Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 This fitness thing has to be bollocks - they were all in a different league to the fitness levels last season. Contacted an ex-fitness coach? Don't make me laugh.
lookwhaticando Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 This fitness thing has to be bollocks - they were all in a different league to the fitness levels last season. To be any less fit than our squad last season, all our players would have been five minutes short of a Duncan Ferguson (in his final, cameo-strewn season with Everton).
Staf Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Dont want neither of them. Bring Paul Jewell in please
BigGibbo Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 It's Warnock isn't it?Where can I place money on this? Ive just put £10 on Warnock at bet365 with odds of 20/1 i figured its the only way to make the day he's appointed not the worst day of my life by it paying for the rest of my season ticket everyone else do the same & the day won't be as depressing with 200 quid in your sky rocket
