Wooly Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 Milan's right. Any fans who were singing that are absolute wankers, end of.
simtacular Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 at the bottom of the page it says 'City now face Martin O'Neill's Aston Villa in the third round at Villa Park a week tonight - a repeat of the same stage last year when Villa won on penalties at the Walkers Stadium.' Didn't abonglahor (sp) score in the last minute of extra time?
Kent Fox Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 milan must completly have his head in the clouds. In all his years in football and he still doesnt understand the game and the people who follow their team You cant sack a manager after only 3 league games and expect everyone to smile sweetly and applaud him- especially when you dont tell them why. Even more so when the manager has built up a relationship with the fans. more.. A very fair point, MPH but I don't agree with you. MM can sack who he wants and hire who he wants. It's his perogative to do so. He doesn't have to tell us why and indeed, he can't tell us. I understand what you are saying, but the part about people buying ST's is rubbish. Surely no-one buys a ST based on who the manager is, they buy them because it's Leicester! Managers come and go, despite what a chairman might say about how he is the right man. But the club remains. And that is who you love. Not the manager. I hope the insane chanting stops now that MM has made his feelings clear.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 I still don't really understand what the point of singing it was? They'd obviously given up on us in that game. Maybe they didn't celebrate our late goals? The "poisonous" bit goes too far though.
Daggers Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 The "poisonous" bit goes too far though. A large part of our support is ovine. They will cheer who others are cheering for, boo who others are booing at, simply because in their vegetative state they go with whoever makes the biggest noise. The booing last Saturday was disgusting and I'll wager only a few of them knew what they were booing at. They don't realise how negative it is for the team and the fans, in fact the entire club. Sheep aren't very good at thinking - this is a clarion call for the hearts of supporters. Now maybe some boo baa-boys will think twice before opening their gobs? Probably not...but maybe. Well said MM.

Kent Fox Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 I don't believe that they will learn to shut up as there is no concequence to their actions. Do you believe that the Baa boys really take notice of MM and the Merc? Were you booing? Your apparent defence of them suggests you were.
Kilworthfox Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 Were you booing?Your apparent defence of them suggests you were. Nope, and where is the defence in the questions?
Daggers Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 Do you believe that the Baa boys really take notice of MM and the Merc? I doubt most of these ****ers ever think about the consequences of their actions on other people, ever. That said Kilworth, the more people that say 'this is unacceptable behaviour' the more impact it will have. Maybe the article will not stop idiotic behaviour - but maybe it will encourage more people to complain to stewards or to have words with these dickheads personally. As I say...maybe. We have been through some really shit times and if it is ever going to get better then it is about time supporters accepted their collective responsibility to help make that happen. Why pussy-foot about? Idiots at the club are cancerous - if they are not cut out they'll kill off all of our dreams.
Maybes Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 I wasn't happy when a certain group of fans started singing this. The worst thing was that quite a few joined in. I wonder how many of them will be at charlton?

I dont think a chant makes that much of a differance to our performance as yesterday showed. That said the chant was unwelcolme but I think it shows how raw the decision by MM still sits with people, and their displeasure with the GM appointment. We all know that MA is never coming back at least while MM is in charge thats for sure. What we must do now is get behind GM! He deserves a chance. They were his subs last night, and his victory! I know for most it is hard but we should encourage him even if he was not our choice because if we like it or not he is our leader now and we must follow with good thoughts not bad.
AyewJoking Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 The whole secrecy surrounding the reason Allen was sacked annoys me. Its our club, we should be told.
Maybes Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 The whole secrecy surrounding the reason Allen was sacked annoys me. Its our club, we should be told. Yes it annoys me to. Maybe MA was found in bed with Mrs Mandaric

We aren't disagreeing on anything other than the dripdripdrip effect of chants and catcalls. The idiots don't understand that change is not instantaneous, that's what the chants reflect, they have no patience and no understanding. You appreciate how much positive effect we had on the team at the tail-end of last season...so why is it hard to believe that negative chants have negative repercussions? Whether we term it 'getting behind GM' or simply 'getting behind the team' - I think we would all agree that we just have to bring our A-game to the stands every match. It's time to get positive

We need to be better fans collectively and sing the right songs for Leicester City
Smudge Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 These are probably the same cretins who were chanting "What a load of rubbish" at the Kilmarnock game when Allen was in charge.
eaststandtom Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 unfortunately the nature of football these days has dictated this 'instant' demand for success. previously, fans could appreciate 2-3 years for team to develop. recently it has been a season before pressure starts to hit the manager then 6 months, then a few games now it seems that 80 minutes of a match is all thats needed? a joke what with players having more control over their contract now they can leave pretty much when they put enough pressure on their club. this isn't a stable ground for managers to build a team so results have to be achieved with players whilst they have them. this has had a knock on effect and translated to the fans causing this kind of pressure. surely it isnt unreasonable for a manager to be given time to build a succesful team? it would appear not

Mr Happy Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 The whole secrecy surrounding the reason Allen was sacked annoys me. Its our club, we should be told. Isn't this just really a case of 'Treat others how you expect yourself to be treated'? If we had been told why MA had been sacked then maybe there wouldn't be so many fans still hurting as to his recent departure and their wouldn't be so many questioning his decisions either . That said, we shouldn't of sung that at the game last night because it is fairly obvious that, whilst serving as a tribute to MA, it will offend both megson and manderic. I think now we, collectively as city fans, should all get over this sacking quickly and start focusing on giving (grudingly or not) MM our full support!! After all this is our team and the more support we show, the more likely it is that the team will produce the goods. That said if MM thinks we aren't going to voice our opinions when things get messy, then he's got another think coming.

The fans still hurting are the ones that either have no belief that GM will do a good job for us and/or they are too thick to understand why we cannt be told of MA and MM falling out.
Raj Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 For whatever reason, which we will probably never find out,MA is gone. Time to move on. Chanting his name is not beneficial to the team and does not help anyone. Is he going to come back? Is he at the game? Does he actually give a fcuk? So why chant his name? Time to move on,and...GET BEHIND THE MANAGER......Eh Daggers???
ronnup Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 Back page of the pissing merc.We win in an epic last few minutes and all they can muster on the back page is Milan practically insulting our fans. What a way to overshadow an amazing comeback. Totally agree. World wide recognition for un-presidented sportsmanship. amazing thrilling victory. Pricks, no sense of civic pride generated here. That could've been an article that pushed another 100 people thru the gates on saturday. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrr
