The People's Hero Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Thin argument though. Erm. I can't quite believe you've just said that. Is it demonstrably a thin argument, a thin argument in your opinion.. or what?
Lord Nibblington Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Thin argument though. Err. In the game Hammond limped out of, was he, or was he not replaced by Mckay? Have I just imagined that? Because if he was, I would imagine the arguement that they're competing for a similar place isn't perhaps that thin.
Mark Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 City: CARL PENTNEY, HOSSEIN KAEBI, LATHANIAL ROWE-TURNER, LEVI PORTER, JOE MAGUNDA, SCOTT GARNER, ASHLEY CHAMBERS, RYAN BESWICK, RICKY SAPPLETON, BILLY McKAY, ADDA DJEZIRI. Subs: JONATHAN HAYES, BILLY KEE, FRASER TUTTLE, LUKE O'NEIL, STEVEN HOWARD. Pathetic, and no doubt Ferreira is injured.
Thracian Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 yeh, because the words Hammond and compete don't really go together. Your unfaltering bias concerning Hammond has long been noted and it seems strange to me that a university student should have such a blinkered view of anything or anyone. To say Hamond lacks control, doesn't always get his head up, is erratic when it comes to shooting are all defensible criticisms. But to say he doesn't compete is laughable. Hammond is almost always a determined competitor. He was first injured this close season bravely putting his foot in where it should never have gone to make a chance for Cort. The same happened in his comeback for the reserves when he was causing mayhem before being ruggedly clattered in the penalty box. Martin Allen ran 30 yards to huddle him in a training session because he was so competitive and most of last season, reserves or first team, he gave his all. I said we would miss his pace this season and nothing could be more true. We've posed few problems to opposing defences this season partly because everything we do is at little more than medium pace. This isn't a recall post for Hammond. I've talked about fans having scapegoats and Hammond is our biggest. He had an excellent 10 minutes on his comeback. I hope he continues to do well as I do with all our players whether I think them good, bad or indifferent. And if he forces his way back into contention then, like Fryatt, good luck to him. I raised my fist to him at the beginning of that reserves match I mentioned in a gesture of determination and shouted for him to go for it. He turned around as if it were the first time he'd been cheered since he'd been at the City. How sad is that? He doesn't need continual belittling any more than you would. Especially on totally false grounds.

The reason my argument is thin I suppose is that it was based on logic, reason and common sense. If it was some high-brow, lofty, sweeping verbose stream of idiocy then he'd have loved it.

Milky Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 yadda yadda yadda. I stopped reading when you accused me of having a blinkered view. Amazing. Take a look at yourself.
Bryn Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 If it was some high-brow, lofty, sweeping verbose stream of idiocy then he'd have loved it. !
Bert Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Nice to see Billy Kee rewarded with a reserve team spot after his strong start for the academy.
Thracian Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Was any of this in the game where he was creating (I quote) 'absolute havoc' for eight WHOLE minutes before getting injured? Deflect from the point as always. Your having jaundiced views - as on Hammond - doesn't surprise me one bit. I confess to thinking Milky Joe had a bit more about him.

Manwell Pablo Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Maybe they've got no intention of ever using Kaebi. worrying.
The People's Hero Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Maybe they've got no intention of ever using Kaebi. worrying. I've heard we sold an extra 2 shirts to Iranians living in Leicester!!!!!
Thracian Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 I bet Milky Joe is gutted that he's dissappointed you. I'm sure!
Tevez Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 I'm all for Hammond having a go in the first team, Maybury and Kenton has had a chance, why shouldn't he?
The People's Hero Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 I'm all for Hammond having a go in the first team, Maybury and Kenton has had a chance, why shouldn't he? Is your memory so short?
coale39 Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Its worrying when Chambers starts in midfield and Irans young star, Newton, Kishishev or Ferreira dont.
Thracian Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Is your memory so short? Could be he's just a fairer bloke.

From day one i've thought you to have ridiculas views, and i've never seen anything to change that. In recent months however you've really, really lost it, culminating in the hilarious nicknames episode. What was it someone said? "would the last shred of Thracians credibility please turn the light off on the way out of the forum". You're the blinkered one. It's about time blinkey bill stepped into the real world.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 might start following the reserves, they actually win games of football!!! When I next get asked who I support..."Leicester City........Reserves"
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 I just wish Kaebi could score somehow. Anything to force the hand a little. I'm getting desperate about this complete pointlessness now.
Master Fox Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 I’m actually beginning to think Thracian has a point about Elvis. He certainly has more to offer than Carl Cort. And to be fair when he came off the bench last season he scored a couple of vital goals. I don’t think Elvis’s scoring ratio is much different to Fryatt’s.

Plenty of name calling but it only sidesteps the issue. The basis of your attack on Hammond was totally unjustified and shows what a jaundiced mind you have. And if you highlight your views as being different from my own, like you, I'll take it as a compliment. Off to University with you. A bit more education won't go amiss. I'm an old man. We get a bit set in our ways
