FilboFox Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 Vote away... I know there won't be an election for quite a bit of time but it would be nice to see what everyone thinks of the situation at the moment regardless.
hairy Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 Its a question of the lesser of the evils so I would still vote Labour eventhough I live in such a Tory strongehold it will make F all difference. When it comes to the day itself it will depend because I am sick of all these hidden tax increases that have gone on under Labour. But I would never vote Tory

Jon the Hat Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 Its a question of the lesser of the evils so I would still vote Labour That is the problem with this country. If you are not happy with what is there, vote for someone else. Don't put up with it!
Alexikokopops Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 I'd abstain, I don't really follow politics enough to make a reasoned decision. In fact I know fook all. FOXES
Rincewind Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 If the Lib Dems had a younger leader I'd consider them. As it it is I'll look to see if there are any Independant Labours. New Labour is too right wing, Almost Tory in fact. If there was a Sensible Party that would be be even better.
Daggers Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 Where's my choice? Labour - liars and cheats Tory - liars and cheats Libdem - liars and cheats Respect - nutters Euro/Veritas/Independance whatevers - nutters Green - cranks English Democrats Party - cranks and nutters England First Party - hate-fuelled cranks and nutters Liberal Party - bearded idiots Men's Representative Party - stupid nutters Mum's Army - media-driven low-IQ cranks National Liberal Party - dangerously stupid nutters Popular Alliance - nutters that fell out with Veritas Social Democratic Party - the British equivalent of Japanese soldiers fighting on not realising war is over. Idiots. ...then there are the collection of idiotic, stupid nutters on the far-left Alliance for Green Socialism Socialist Unity in elections Communist Party of Britain Communist Party of Britain (Marxist-Leninist) Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist) Communist Party of Great Britain (Provisional Central Committee) Democratic Labour Party Democratic Socialist Alliance Independent Working Class Association International Socialist Group New Communist Party of Britain Peace and Progress Party People's Party Red Party Revolutionary Communist Group Socialist Appeal Socialist Equality Party Socialist Labour Party Socialist Party (England and Wales) stands as Socialist Alternative in elections Socialist Party of Great Britain Socialist Workers Party the party currently forms part of Respect: The Unity Coalition Spartacist League Workers Power Workers' Revolutionary Party ...and the jokes existing on the far right British National Party British National Socialist Movement British Peoples Party England First Party English Independence Party Freedom Party Imperial Party National Democrats National Front Nationalist Alliance New Britain Party New Nationalist Party Populist Party with both extremes spouting hate-filled lobotomised crap Spot one of the above that isn't an absolute joke? I can't. So that leaves me choosing from whoever of the following stands in my constituency because I've had enough of party politics: The Blah! Party Church of the Militant Elvis Party Fancy Dress Party Millennium Bean Party MP3 Party Official Monster Raving Loony Party Rock'n'roll Loony Party Stuckist Party
Phube Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 Ooohh Mensi (if that is your real name!!! Tell me more about the Revolutionary Communist Group, it sounds right up my politaical alley!!!
hairy Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 That is the problem with this country. If you are not happy with what is there, vote for someone else. Don't put up with it! No. I totally disagree with you. The problem is not putting up with but having to put up with. Our election system does not take into account the percentage of vote from the population but that of the local constituancy. In mine the Torys win by a mile, then the Lib Dems with about half the vote the Torys had and finally Labour with about a quarter the vote the Torys had. No other parties stood last time. With that in mind, the only vote that counts where I live is a Tory vote and I am f#@ked if I'm voting for them. If I felt my vote counted then yes, I would take more of an interest and not vote for the lesser of the evils but for the party that satisfied my ideals. DiscoBobLemondDaggersDave, tell me more of this Militant Elvis party of which you speak.
Daggers Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 Ooohh Mensi (if that is your real name! It's Dave, Phube. As in DiscoBobLemondDaggersDave, Phube. You really struggle to keep up don't you Mensi was the lead singer of the Angelic Upstarts, a small beat combo with the sound of cherubs rolling on velvet.

hairy Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 Can i just ask why people don't vote Lib Dem? I'm interested to hear a few views on that. Because it is seen as a wasted vote as they will not get to power. They sit in the middle, promise everything but get nowhere. As they sit in the middle it is thought they could not decide on a policy between them.
Raj Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 I want serious answers. That's just a cop out. dunno then???
Webbo Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 Can i just ask why people don't vote Lib Dem? I'm interested to hear a few views on that. I don't think anyone really knows what they stand for. All people see with them is the gay rights, eco fanatical, sandal wearing, beardy weirdy stereo-type. PS This wont be a surprise to any body but I vote tory.

From where I stand I see the Lib Dems as supporting freedom, fairness and putting people first.
Webbo Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 From where I stand I see the Lib Dems as supporting freedom, fairness and putting people first. I don't think you'll find a single party that claim to be against that.
Thracian Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 I must confess I expected a bigger shout from representatives of the Government supporting "this is how you'll live or else" advocates. Perhaps it's just the wrong day. Or the fact that GB won't face a GB election right now anyway or even a GB referendum on the European Constitution. So what does it matter? In fact does GB give a shit about what GB wants or just what he GB wants? The man is a manipulator, an accomplished illusionist and a control freak of the worst kind. Why anyone, even the traditionally supportive working classes, would vote for the highest taxes in modern history is beyond me. And it's not as if people are told about the all these taxes in a straightforward manner. There's always some sleight of hand. Truly I detest Party politics. It's like voting for the lesser of perceived evils instead of for people you really have faith in to serve the country and all of its people. People who have achieved things, done something worthy in their lives, set standards and earned respect. But then I've never really been a political person. I don't vote and I certainly don't like being led by any politician, especially ones made popular by their misguided activist pals on the provenly biased voicebox called the BBC. And when I look at so many of the ill-conceived decisions made by our politicians in recent years, the obscene waste of lives, the squandering of resources that could have been far better utilised, the constant monitoring of every aspect of our lives, the shameful dictating of even how we should live, the turning of virtually everyone into a potential criminal, the legalised theft of people's hard-earned money through ever-increasing mountains of petty legislation, and so much more, there's no way I plan to change.
Phube Posted 12 October 2007 Posted 12 October 2007 It's Dave, Phube. As in DiscoBobLemondDaggersDave, Phube. You really struggle to keep up don't you Mensi was the lead singer of the Angelic Upstarts, a small beat combo with the sound of cherubs rolling on velvet. Actually this is one name change I coped with... It's because you keep the same sig./avatar during the change!!
