Yeah well, I beat SEVEN national champions at badminton and even THREE world champions.

And I'm CRAP at badminton.

And that's why Alan Sheehan is rubbish.

I was in the top 1000 in the world at Pro Evolution soccer once.

and I lost to Chris "Spuggy" Allison.

Thats why Levi Porter is crap.

I'm perfectly serious. My squash record, if written out in a CV, might look the part but I KNOW how bad I really was compared to the really good players.

I can even demonstrate it. On a CV I can truthfully declare that I beat one world champion and one runner-up. Very nice when written in black and white.

Except that one was the world women's champion Lisa Opie and the other, the 1975 mens champion Qamar Zaman, lost the score when we were playing an exhibition match. He had intended to win by one point but actually lost by one simply cos he misheard the referee.

So the record is deceptive. Zaman could have won whenever he liked.

And that's what I believe to be the case with Kaebi.

His CV flatters to deceive. And clearly so. We've even had people on here totally misinterpret his world status thinking he was somehow among the top 10 of the World Cup when he wasn't.

What is up with Megson not playing Hossein. Seriously?

Seen him for just under 10 minutes at Watford and that's about it.

Will we see anymore of him in the first team?

All this talk of Kaebi being poor defensively, anyone remember the crunching tackle at Watford?

Yes. I also remember the two at the Britainnia Stadium against Stoke Reserves.

The first he took the man and gave away a free-kick on the edge of our box from which they almost scored.

The second was extraordinary. It was another slide tackle and he missed by an embarrassing distance - I'm talking two yards or more.

Just as he went down the ball disappeared and the opponent with it. By the time he'd finished sliding there was no-one near him. :D

Of course you're going to remember the bad ones.

I reckon he's not in to football at all, he just likes arguing, if we all ignore him he might pack it in.

That's actually what I think. Fair play that he goes to reserve games but i can't help but think that he milks this 'acheivement' by writing huge, bias essays which go against the majorities views. Just so he can say 'I saw such and such the other night and he's ...[the opposite of what everyone else says]. Having said that, i'd give anything for an O'Grady Dodds front pairing right now.

Well, well, well, are you suggesting that certain stats don't tell the whole story? Please say yes! :D

All your muddying of the waters won't change the situation as far as Kaebi is concerned.

As for the majority. I reckon there have been about 240 City fans at the home reserve games he's played in and I'd be amazed if even one in 20 would put him forward as first team material at this time.

And one of those would probably be his interpreter.

But just a question. Do you really think you'd be doing Kaebi a favour by conducting a successful campaign to get him in the first team?

Cos I don't. Not if you're truly keen to see him have a career here.

I wouldn't be against him being selected in attacking midfield when Coventry Reserves visit Hinckley next week though.

Perhaps alongside Porter.

That might provide some guidance.

I've never doubted it - as my example proves.

Hammond is a another example! :D

And Kaebi. And Fryatt.

Stats can help back or dispute an argument but they can be more deceptive than a politician.

You can say what you like Thracian but you can't believe he doesn't deserve his first team chance? Almost everyone else has had a go, with the exceptions being Nielsen and Hellings who are almost certainly mistakes.

Until his performances in the reserves improve and until he demonstrates which position in the team he can be useful I don't think he deserves consideration for the first team at all.

I wouldn't call Hellings a failure yet either. He seems to be improving steadily if not spectacularly and adjusting to an obviously different style of play.

Hellings' faults right now are that he tends to take a touch too many and doesn't quite make enough happen for an attacking midfielder. Those things may come as he gets used to English football. May.

Kaebi's good moments catch the eye more than Hellings but his faults defensively are far more glaring.

Nielsen I've written off. He's said he wants to go in January and that's that for me.

Ferreira has never been fit but would otherwise probably be ahead of Kaebi.

And Djeziri? I honestly have no idea why we signed him.

I can't believe I've just read the last 5 pages of utter shite.

Let's just get a few things straight. Megson's the manager and he plays wingbacks. If Kaebi was the best wingback at the club he be in the team. If he was the second best in the squad he'd be on the bench.

So he's got 50 caps for Iran, big deal, there must be some tw@t who plays for Andorra who's got 100. Should we sign him?

Why not? I suppose if he has pace, like Kaebi and was rated one of the top 10 most promising players of the 2002 world cup - get him in Milan!

I've not seen him play for more than 15 minutes yet like most of us but surely he has to be better than Stearman?

Stearman has generally showed himself to not be good enough in my opinion and we need somebody more suited to attacking.

Sounds a bit ignorant. A flippant remark maybe but Iran are ranked 40th in the world.

Andorra are ranked 169th.

Just to give some perspective, Northern Ireland are ranked 36th at the moment and are likely to slip below Iran now that Sanchez has gone, and how many of their defenders have to be unavailable for selection before Gareth McAuley gets a game...?

Marton Fulop's Hungary are 55th.

Patrick Kisnorbo's Australia are 48th.

Oh and... lol Alan Sheehan's Republic of Ireland are 32nd, a mere eight places above Iran. Similar age to Kaebi. Where are his 50 caps?

How dare you come on here and say that all 5 pages were shite. I`ll restore the balance...

In the 80s, I appeared in a Commodore 64 magazine called ZZZap as the best player in England on the golf game Leaderboard. I had to send my tape in as proof of my high score. I still think I would have beaten Nick Faldo in real life if he dared come over to give me a game.

As for Kaebi, nothing is conclusive either way at the moment. All we have on him are reports that he is or was one of the better youngsters to come through the ranks from Iran but 50 International caps for a country that is officially rated higher than the likes of Australia, Senegal, Chile, wales, Belgium etc etc is no mean feat. Ive convinced myself he is quality and Im sticking to it until he proves me wrong. I thought the same of Elvis and he managed to prove me wrong by the game lol

where do you find the cheek to say stuff like this?!? you must have spent about a year of your life 'conducting' campaigns to get god knows how many youth players in the first team. where are they now? leagues 1, 2 and below. just because every other one of your posts is about 2000 words long doesn't make them any more credible. i think kaebi (from what i've seen) would be a useful player on our bench right now. quick and unknown to the opposition. could fail but probably wouldn't. some first team minutes would do him the world of good.

Thats what I don't get, it's not like we've got someone good in the team ahead of him. Stearman offers absolutley nothing going forward which isn't good enough for a wingback and is very average defensively. But I suppose he's the safer option and fits with Megson's "Let's not get beat" approach rather than "Let's try and win".

Yes, slightly flippant but we all know that FIFA rankings are not worth the paper they're written on. They are based on results in games played.

Andorra are in Europe and play top European teams every season whereas Iran play other footballing minnows from Asia.
